Like others, I worry about why it took so long and everything that happened while I was out. On a separate note, I felt very uncomfortable with him pushing a specific, very expensive bra. If it were comfortable, I could understand but it is quite irritating fabric. When I asked for a different suggestion, he continued to push this bra. The doctor recommended a breast augmentation combined with a lift on the lower side to correct the asymmetry. The original quote was $9,500, but with the additional lift, the total cost increased to $13,000. I agreed to proceed, trusting the doctor's recommendation. Unfortunately, after the surgery, my breasts are still uneven -- one side remains higher and the other lower, with no real correction of the original issue. The only noticeable difference is that the size is larger. In addition, the incision around the areola was done unevenly and closed poorly, leaving very visible and unattractive scarring. After healing, I also developed a hard lump in the breast, which has caused ongoing pain. I have had to return for follow-up visits every 3 months, and to this day, the pain has not improved. This experience has been extremely disappointing -- not only financially, but also physically and emotionally. I trusted this doctor to fix an existing issue, but the outcome did not meet expectations and has caused further complications.

The quality of the surgery and the results, which is the most important consideration, were worthy of 5 stars! I rated it 4 for reasons other than the quality of the work, I will get into that later. First i'd like to point out the good: Dr. Delgado seems very experienced in this type of surgery. I had spoken with two doctors before and had done tons of research on the subject. The two doctors were not very helpful and pointed towards some drugs that work only on a very few percentage of men with early stage gynecomastia. On the research side I found that gynecomastia is often confused with simple chest fat. Gynecomastia is in fact not fat and many surgeons who perform gynecomastia surgery do so with liposuction only, resulting in the puffy nipples still remaining. At this point I was frustrated with the medical communities misguided view on gynecomastia and was afraid to invest a large sum of money on something that would not give me the results I wanted. I narrowed down my results to 3 surgeons who performed gynecomastia surgery and had proven track records. I visited Dr. Delgado last and although the two previous surgeons seemed adequate, I decided for Dr. Delgado. Dr. Delgado accurately diagnosed my problem and offered a minimally evasive procedure that left only very minor scarring. Dr. Delgado was the most expensive of the surgeons (that's why the 4 stars)! Still, seeing as this was mostly a cosmetic surgery, I wanted to be happy with the results. It has been a few months since the surgery and the tiny scars are mostly gone. He has a lot of experience, and you can tell. I trust his judgment, which is obviously very important when someone is operating on your face. 2. He doesn't push procedures. Actually, he'll tell you when he thinks you don't need something. I really appreciate that and think it says a lot about him. 3. He has a very good eye. He might suggest something he thinks would give you a better overall result, but it's always just a suggestion. I've never felt pressured or like someone was trying to sell me another procedure. 4. His results look natural. This is probably the biggest thing for me. After multiple facial surgeries, I still look like me. I don't look like a different person, and I definitely don't have that obvious "she had work done" look. Of course I can see the changes because it's my face, but people who meet me would have no idea I've had facial surgery. And to me, that's exactly what good plastic surgery should be -- you still look like yourself, just better. 5. And on top of everything, he's just a really nice person. Initially, I was looking for a plastic surgeon to remove a growth on my eyelid. After discussing my eye situation, I asked "so what would you do with my face at this time (if anything)?? He proceeded to analyze my face and tell me what he could do to refresh my appearance. After some deliberation with myself and my partner lol, I decided to do a deep plane facelift, upper/lower eye Blepharoplasty and liposuction on my waistline. It was important to me I work with a doctor who respects the natural anatomy of my face and body...someone who had experience working on men. I wanted to look refreshed...not like a different person or have that "surgery look". At first my partner wasn't on board, unable to look at things objectively...he was afraid I'd look like a different person and felt I didn't need anything done.
