Last Friday was my son's last day with Speakable Speech Therapy. He is almost 6 years old. His…read moretherapist was Miss Karem. We went there about 2 years, give or take, first as a referral from Kaiser and then as private client. When we first started, my son had about 15 words and we spent many sessions just trying to get him to sign or say 'Open' to open the box of toys and he would refuse. By working with Miss Karem on what we need to work on at home and then persisting and practicing it, he got more words and then sentences, and then conversational skills. For the longest time, he was talking but not conversational. He would utter what he needed but no response when we asked him further questions. I still remember the day when he asked me a question, I responded, and he asked a follow-up question based on my answer. That's the beginning of conversational skills. Today my son talks constantly. He uses his pronouns, plurals, and possessive (Miss Karem's toys). He will also rephrase if I don't understand him. He use words to explain why he is upset. At home I read him books and asked him WH questions. We have a lot to thank Speakable for his growth. Lastly, on the logistic side of things, Speakable is easy to reach if you need to reschedule appointment or change credit card that was on file. A human person will answer the call. Parking is also not an issue when I go for the appointment.

When he started the class he had less than 15 words in his vocabulary and its not even been a year but we can see drastic improvement in his speech. 3 Word sentences are becoming more and more frequent. The way Ms. karem engages and makes our son at ease is commendable. This is the only class he waits to attend every week and hasn't missed it even once in last 8 months. Thankyou!

My son was diagnosed with ASD and started 16 hours of ABA service with CSLOT since Feb 2016. We are…read morevery happy with the service so we stay with CSLOT until he graduates from the program this month. It is a long journey of more than 5 years. My son has made tremendous progress which was beyond my expectation when we started. Looking back, I just could not use my language to describe how much I appreciate the great service from CSLOT. For most of these five year, Siva has been my son's BCBA. She is a very experienced, keen observer. When she first took in my son, she spent quite some time, observing, engaging with my son, then she designed very practical, detailed ABA plans. She is very hands-on, so she can demonstrate and train BT very well to carry out her plan. She did a good work for analyzing the data and communicated well with us for the parent training session. My son loves the behavior therapists from CSLOT as well. He has met quite a few of them and bonded well with all of them. Tammy is one of the therapists my son has been with for the longest time. She has years of experience and very creative in engaging with my son. And my son fully enjoys session with her. Insurance is always difficult to deal with. CSLOT has gone out of its way to help us. It gives us a super bill, which helps with the out of the network reimbursement. Every. 6 month, we need pre-authorization to continue my son's ABA therapy. The BCBA always helps us to reach out to our insurance company, prepare progress report before the phone session with the insurance company and help us to get the optimal amount of service hours. Overall, I am very satisfied with CSLOT. And their work can be shown in my son's progress. When he was diagnosed at four years old, he needed school district SDC preschool. When he entered elementary school, he still needed 90 minutes per week support. Now, he only needs 30 minutes social group from the school, which is considered 98% mainstream. All of these is impossible without the great service from CSLOT.

She said she watched a couple of short videos and was cleared to work as a BT. Their scheduler is useless and their main focus is making as much as they can. We had 6-7 BTs in the span of 1-2 years, majority of them were terrible. The only reason we stayed with them is because of Hussein, he was literally the best thing about this place. He was an incredible BT and a great human being.

From intake to our final class, the staff made sure that the scheduling process was a breeze, and that visits did not fall short of expectations. They have an excellent staff dedicated to your child's development, and the office is pristine. Not just clean; very well kept. I noticed that there wasn't one tear on a book or broken toys. They put lots of effort into upkeep, knowing well that toys and books can take a beating with younger kids. East Bay Child Development Center has terrific speech therapists and therapists specialized in helping in all other types of child development, including but not limited to physical therapy, etc. We went through 2 different speech therapists and 1 or 2 therapy students which was a little harder for our son to grow accustomed to because it would take him awhile to warm up (which I've learned isn't unusual for any development therapy center), but each therapist tried their absolute best to ensure they were giving him the utmost care and attention.

That speech is not a good fit for him, that his sister runs around the hallways exploring toys and opened doors of offices, about me get a phone call so they discharged him from services. This is racism and discrimination by the way ladies I want to give you suggestions, your office needs a new administration, organisation and functionality. Everybody there seems to go everywhere, I don't know if these people work here are they clients. The back door to the outside was open, this is called dysfunctional. The office receptionist was like his first day to work, confused and looked around like a lost boy. There four people by office were speaking loud and chatting. They failed my son years ago when he was younger because they said he was not ready for speech when I just changed my insurance to get accepted to come here. Now he's 12 years old saying he's not a good fit. Shame on you to say that to me. You can't discharge him that's illegal. My son is trying with his speech and he has rights in California to receive speech therapy any age. Discrimination by the ability, then age, what's next because his sister running around the office and also I was on the phone? For that lady who spoke with me today over the phone couldn't wait on me. And making me feel like I was being fired from the job, she sounded rude and said my daughter was running around the room and I was speaking loud on the phone so the excuse to fail my son. Then changed her words saying he's not a good fit and he runs fast and wants to push the kids. She needs to find more excuses for her to dismiss him. You don't know how hard and challenging to be a mother of autistic kid. I finally thought I have him his speech going and then you locked me up like shutting my mouth. Go see if your speech therapist is the one who has the problem. She too lazy to give speech therapy or has a lack of skills. This is Shameless and discrimination.

As parents, we were looking for someone who could not only understand our daughter's unique way of learning but also connect with her highly logical and helpful personality. Ms. Cameryn did exactly that. She created a safe, structured, and incredibly supportive environment where our daughter felt confident enough to find her voice. What sets Ms. Cameryn apart is her patience and her ability to tap into a child's natural strengths. She turned every session into a 'mission' that was excited to complete. Because of her guidance, we've seen major breakthroughs in our daughter's communication, social reciprocity, and emotional regulation. It is rare to find a therapist who combines such high-level professional expertise with genuine, heartfelt kindness. She is truly loves her, and while we are transitioning to home-based care due to our work schedules, we are so grateful for the foundation Ms. Cameryn built. If you are looking for a therapist who will truly 'see' your child and help them thrive, we highly recommend Ms. Cameryn!"

As a parent of twins with developmental disabilities, I understand the importance of attendance. I also understand the reality of managing multiple therapies, medical appointments, school meetings, and life. Over time, repeated conversations about missed appointments, attendance reminders, and signing attendance acknowledgments left me feeling judged instead of supported. The final straw was accidentally leaving one week off a summer scheduling form, which led to another conversation about attendance. It wasn't about that one incident--it was the realization that this philosophy simply doesn't align with how I believe families of children with additional needs should be treated. The clinicians were wonderful, and the front desk staff were always professional and kind. My disappointment lies with leadership and the culture created by these policies. Families seeking pediatric therapy need partnership, empathy, and flexibility. Unfortunately, that wasn't our experience, and we chose to take our children elsewhere.
