Joe went above and beyond to build us our sunroom. I had initially gotten a few estimates but Joe was the only one willing to put in the time to do everything above board (rigorous design process, permitting, and so on). His bid was the best value and also the most thorough. He worked with us to get our plan approved by all the necessary city departments. He thought through little details, all with an eye towards maximizing our use of the space. He has years of experience and it showed. Once plans were approved, he oversaw the job stopping by frequently to check in. Communication was great. He never sidestepped any issues, he was always direct and up front. He really wants you to be happy with the final product even if it means putting in more time than another company would. Joes build team included his son James, who is very experienced at sunroom construction. The whole team was very courteous, friendly, efficient, and professional. Overall we are so pleased with our sunroom. We eat all our meals there. My toddler loves to play there. It's everyone's favorite spot in our house. This review is long overdue! I can't say enough about the quality and care that Joe puts into his sunroom. He genuinely wants you to have a space that's functional and workable for your needs and not necessarily his profit line. His pricing is fair and in line with a few of the other quotes we had gotten but what set him apart was his honesty and un-willingness to cut corners. If it can be done, he'll figure out how to make it work, if it can't be done, he won't make up stuff. Everything is permitted and up to code an we wouldn't want it any other way. We wanted recessed lighting in our sunroom, something that he's never done before and he looked into it and got us recessed lighting! Joe saw we might have some drainage issues and figured out a way to tie in the drains into our existing french drain. His workers ran countless speaker wire, HDMI, coaxial and ethernet cords for us. Added in multiple power junctions high, low and outside. For those that don't know, Daly City is notorious for strict enforcement of building codes and while I realize its for safety, it does often create delays. Joe helped us through plan submission, revisions, re-submissions, more revisions, and inspections. He had to be patient and we had to learn patience with the project. I don't know how we would have made it through without his steady hand. If you're on the fence, just do it - Joe's a quality guy that does quality work! read more

18 years ago we had a Four Seasons Sunroom installed and at that time Joe was the supervisor on the job. The installation went well and the staff that did the install were very efficient and did a high quality job. Over the years we have enjoyed the sunroom, all year round. We never had a problem with the sunroom up until this year. One of the panels slipped slightly and needed to be "pushed" back in place. I was not even sure if Bay Area sunroom was still in business because never needed them for any repair work. I called them and Joe, who had supervised the original job came out almost immediately. He remembered the job and even had the paperwork of when it was installed. Joe made the "simple" repair at no charge. What an absolute pleasure it has been to work with Joe and his team at Bay Area Sunrooms. Since I work with many contractors and sub contractors in my own business, I have had a good amount of experience with the industry. I did a lot of research and interviewed a few different companies to complete this current project. I could not believe the shady characters in the sunroom construction business, it was very unsettling. (BTW - always check the Better Business Bureau and the contractor's license status of sunroom guys.) Thank goodness I persevered and found Bay Area Sunrooms! We had a very tight timeline for our project to be completed, so we started 6 months in advance with the process and Joe assured us with a very high probability that it could be done on time. I am sitting here looking at the new sunroom, completed earlier than we even expected! As previously noted, BAS installed my sunroom back in '08. Late last year, BOTH of my exterior lights started flaking out. Joe came out with an electrician, and of course they both worked perfectly that day. (like taking a car to a mechanic....geeesh!) It took a few months, but they both finally reached the point where they were definitely deader than a dead parrot. I reached out to BAS, and last week they installed two new lights - updated to include motion detection (sweet!), under warranty. Once again I gotta give BAS serious kudos. I get so used to contractors telling me they will come on a Monday at noon, and then if I'm really lucky, they might only be 2 hours late. Alan Dale came out several times to help us design our sunroom and to show us the features. He was helpful and even made a very good suggestion as to the level of the floor (one step down from the kitchen, two more steps on the outside for minimum 'landing' space wasted). We looked at several companies before choosing this one. We had a few misunderstandings at first which delayed the project a little due to mis-ordering, but the owner, Joe, looked into it, got it sorted out and even discovered that I'd been overcharged and adjusted my bill. The work went by pretty quickly, though the team did cut some supports too short (a by-product of the earlier mis-order which meant that the top glass panels had not been ordered), this was pretty quickly corrected and the whole sunroom went together like a child's building set, which was amazing to watch. The slab that was poured seems to be very high quality, with the worker checking it very carefully. A friend of mine who also does concrete was impressed with the work. They sorted out the permits promptly and kept us appraised. We love our sunroom and have had it a couple of years now. The only problem we ever had was a small piece of trim coming loose inside and Joe fixed that himself, no charge. The glass and insulation is high-quality, so the room keeps a pretty good temperature. We use it as a living room and it makes a huge difference to the house. The bronze color is very attractive, I recommend it over the white. read more

When we went through our Sunroom Installation in 2015-2016 it was very important for us to finish the whole project in a very short period of time. I couldn't find a lot of vendors which has curved Sunroom. We started with a contractor who completely screwed up the permit process and jacked up price for the things that they are supposed to do. At that point I realized I need to find the most reputable company to do the job. It's a more complicated project than your paint or floor job. Four Season Sunroom in San Mateo came to my rescue. Joe was widely known in the area for his excellent customer service and quality work. Few contractors can survive this economical downturn without solid foundation of client referrals, especially Sunrooms are usually optional expenses that got hit even harder. Joe not only survived but continued on his 30+ history in the area. Everything went smoothly; however I did not think it's any extraordinary compare to other services I got, until when the sunroom was up and when we moved on to getting the electrical and interior done. It was clear in the contract that interior panels, resurface, paint etc were not included; Joe did it for me anyway. It was a HUGE help considering I did not have to involve another contractor for such and saved us a bunch of hassle. He also helped us tremendously to get curved window covering completed and install cellular blinds. I was picky about the curved window covering since it did not completely block the sunlight. Not only he took this on to the manufacturer, he also stopped by a few places to check on how curved window covering was made. It's not even his job yet he's willing to invest his time to help. Now I know what true customer service means. Our Sunroom turns our great and we continue to appreciate his dedication. Recommended AAA+. read more

We purchase our house back in november with a sunroom that bay area sunroom installed back in 2004. The sunroom after 12 years is still in great shape. however in the past month, we notice some crack on the plastic glazing bead on one of the windows, probably due to aging and the dog paw. I tried to look all over the place for replacement(lowes, homedepot) but weren't able to. Finally emailed bay area sunroom, and the owner joe called me back and gave me 2 replacement part for free. All i can say is their product is top notch(after 12 years and still looks like brand new) , and customer service is top notch too.
