They provided a very fair quote, but we ended up having to put the project on hold. When we were finally ready to revisit it, they were willing to honor the original estimate, which we really appreciated. This is our first home and the first major renovation project we've undertaken, so we were a little apprehensive going into the process. We ultimately decided to expand the project into a full remodel, and even with the additional scope, the updated price remained very reasonable and close to what we had originally expected to spend. Once the project started, everything moved quickly and smoothly through each phase. Communication was timely and responsive, which helped keep the project moving efficiently from start to finish. Tony, the foreman, and his team were extremely detail-oriented and did exceptional work. The craftsmanship really shows in the finished bathroom. Everything looks carefully installed and precise, and the tile work in particular is incredibly clean. We're extremely happy with how the bathroom turned out and with the overall experience, especially for our first major home project. Construction & More... A Remodel Nightmare Our kitchen and…read morebathroom remodel with Construction & More (C&M) was an extremely frustrating experience. We chose C&M because their proposal fit our budget, they committed to a 1-2 month completion timeline in the contract, and their Google reviews gave us confidence in moving forward. Unfortunately, our experience was very different. The project began on April 28, 2026, with an expected completion by the end of June. Our kitchen and bathrooms were not completed until August 15. Here are some of the major issues we encountered: Incorrect permit C&M pulled a permit for what was described as a "like-for-like" remodel, even though the project involved moving closet walls, relocating plumbing fixtures, and adding a new electrical subpanel. We were subsequently required to address the permitting issue, resulting in approximately $1,200 in permit costs and several weeks of delay. Multiple failed plumbing inspections The bathroom plumbing failed two rough inspections due to the same issue: improper horizontal venting. By late July, we were extremely concerned about getting the plumbing corrected. We consulted three independent plumbers, and all three recommended removing the existing installation and starting over. When I raised these concerns with Joseph, the project manager, and explained that correcting the plumbing was estimated to cost approximately $10,000, his response was essentially that I should hire someone else if I didn't trust him. C&M ultimately brought in their plumbing company, which removed all of the existing plumbing and installed it again correctly. We finally passed the plumbing inspection on July 30. Kitchen did not match the agreed-upon design One of our specific design requirements was for the kitchen cabinets to extend to the ceiling. They did not. This was a major disappointment because it was clearly discussed as a "must-have" element of the design. Poor project management and communication The final month was particularly difficult. When we asked for realistic completion dates, Joseph frequently became defensive and frustrated, and we were repeatedly told that various items would be completed "by Friday." Those dates repeatedly came and went. The biggest issue was the lack of clear project management and accountability. We often felt that commitments were being made without a realistic understanding of what remained to be completed. My husband, who is very handy, ultimately spent approximately 10 days working at the house himself to help get it ready for our family members' July 30 move-in. He also needed to be on-site to monitor the work and make sure issues were addressed correctly. I want to be clear that I do not blame the individual crew members, who worked hard and were generally doing their best under difficult circumstances. My concerns are primarily with project management. In particular, I found Joseph to be disengaged and dismissive throughout much of the project. He was not present for any of the inspections and often relied on an assistant to photograph the progress rather than coming to the job site himself to assess the work. After months of delays, rework, failed inspections, and frustration, we finally passed our final inspection on August 26 and can put this experience behind us. To be fair, there were times when C&M worked hard to get the project completed, and we are ultimately pleased with the finished kitchen and bathrooms. However, the process was far more difficult and time-consuming than it should have been. This was our fourth major remodeling project, and by far our most difficult experience. I am sharing our experience because I believe prospective customers deserve to know what happened--not simply how the finished project looks, but what it took to get there. If you are considering Construction & More, I strongly recommend asking detailed questions about permitting, who will perform the plumbing and electrical work, inspection procedures, project management, and how delays and missed completion dates are handled before signing a contract.

The Great (+2 stars) ==========…read more * The structural work: Our home is on a great, new, solid foundation (with shear walls), so we feel as safe as we can be in our home for an earthquake! * Our basement is also now more usable. * Drainage: There is now drainage around the foundation and under the basement slab, so we are no longer worried about our basement flooding! * The working crew were very friendly and considerate. The Bad (-1 star): ========== * The electrical subcontractor was quite bad. The electricians didn't install the dryer outlet properly (one conductor came loose before I first used it), most outlets they installed are loose (they give when pushing in a plug), and they installed a used, old (not LED compatible) dimmer for the LED lights they installed. Also, the owner yelled at his team a lot. * The plumbing subcontractor was bad, too. They misdrilled several holes, damaging the interior of the home. They didn't seal around exterior penetrations into the house. They didn't put a cover over the branch of a wye that was no longer needed. They wouldn't do anything about the loss of hot water pressure in a bathroom faucet that occurred after they moved some plumbing around (I ended up having to disconnect and disassemble the hot water valve myself and I found a piece of silicone clogged in there). They over-glued the drain of the laundry supply box making it nearly impossible to remove the cap, and they lost the o-rings on my faucet aerator. The Ugly (-2 stars): ========== * They overlooked details in the plans about where walls and doors should go, and denied responsibility since they weren't in the structural engineer's plans, which they opted to not have updated with the revisions I told them about. This lead to a sewer pipe being installed in an inconvenient location (it went through the foundation, so it can't be moved), a structural wall that was almost built in the wrong place (I caught it while they were digging the footing), and a room that was built with no doorway (they had to cut some framing to make the opening). * The pricing/scope was negligent at best, but I'd put it closer to misleading or deceptive. During the initial visits, they talked about all the things they would do (including putting up framing, drywall, and insulation), and then sent over an estimate that I accepted. I didn't realize until halfway through the project that the estimate didn't include many of the things they talked about (including the framing, drywall, and insulation); those apparently would be part of "Phase 2," not included in the price of the first estimate. I had chosen E&F over another estimate that was less expensive even though it did explicitly contain the "additional" scope. I was also surprised that the electrical and plumbing (most of which was necessary to get them out of the way for the structural work) was billed separately; i.e., an unexpected additional expense. * They chose to rebuild a segment of stairs (rather than just adding two steps at the bottom, per the plans), which ended up having insufficient clearance with an overhang halfway down. They tried to convince me there was no new problem because they built them the same as before (but the run of the new stairs was one inch longer, causing the 4th step down to be 4 inches closer to the overhang) and resisted remedying the issue. They just ended up taking a sawzall to trim the overhang -- a joist -- which I just have to hope doesn't compromise any structural integrity! Further, they didn't even finish the stairs (sand and seal); "Test your staining skills," they said. * They ghosted before Phase 2. As the structural work was reaching completion, we were going back and forth on scope for Phase 2. However, when the structural work was actually completed, they just stopped communicating, left dirt and demo debris they left on our driveway for a month, then disappeared. There were lots of things they removed to get out of the way (like several segments of fence) but didn't put back. I could easily add 3x more issues and details, but this review is already too long.

In particular, we worked with the wonderful Ohad Sherion throughout the process who managed all the subs, city departments involved, neighbors, vendors, etc. Our attention was elsewhere as we were very busy with our work, caring for our elders, so it was invaluable that Ohad kept us up-to-date throughout the process. Ohad was able to make our wishes come true, including bathrooms with custom tiles that were no longer available--so he found us an artisan who recreated them by hand. To make the small space look and feel spacious, we went with an open concept which left few walls to hang art. From the beginning, we worked with Ohad to create a design to showcase our art collection. Ohad is persistent and works to get projects not only functional but beautiful. For example, we have a unique front door which needed to be tweaked and he patiently worked with subs to make it happen. My husband was thrilled that we ended up with a house with superb insulation (including sound), up-to-date plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. He feels great about the new roof and solar panels. But I am in love with the amazing personal details that make this place a home (finally). We are so grateful to Ohad. He'd worked with one of our friends previously, and so we knew he'd do a great job for our project. We also loved Greenberg's integrated approach. The architect, constructions, design and management was all done by Greenberg. This meant that the project from top to bottom was aligned with the team actually doing the construction work. My top priorities were 1) a modern home design 2) a job done with high quality 3) low stress. Ohad / Greenberg helped deliver on all of these aspects in spades. The last thing I wanted to do was have to coordinate with flaky contractors, have to re-do low quality work after a long day at work. Ohad kept the project on track and handled all the hassle of dealing with subcontractors & inspectors. Greenberg probably won't be the cheapest contractor you'll talk to, but as the saying goes - you get what you pay for. Quality work, up to code, and no drama is well worth the cost. Ohad worked with us throughout the project to consider different budget options, and gave candid advice about where he thought the budget would be best spent. Overall, highly recommend. I was referred by a friend and have put multiple friends in touch with Greenberg for their projects as well. Everyone is floored by house nice our remodel turned out and will 100% be in touch in the future for any future projects we have.
