    Finished deck

Jorge and his team built our batu deck and did a phenomenal job. They were very prompt and kept the work area very tidy. We highly recommend them.

    Backyard Deck

J Perretti Builders was suggested to us by another deck builder who doesn't work in our area and it turns out that recommendation was spot on. We have been spending more time in our backyard during the pandemic and we wanted to enjoy a better deck. Jorge was prompt with everything from appointments to quotes to communicating which made it easy to work with him. His pricing was competitive and his knowledge of decks was excellent. He was flexible with our schedules and always professional. We ended up choosing a composite material called Timbertech Pro Legacy collection. We chose a Pecan color for the main part of the deck and also took Jorge's suggestion to put a darker Mocha colored picture frame around the outside. The deck looks wonderful that way. The crew did great and precise work. You could tell they cared about the job because they were punctual and spent a lot of time making sure things were measured correctly and set right. They cleaned up after themselves daily and got the job done in the estimated time frame. The overall job is amazing and we are extremely happy with our new deck. We are spending even more time outside now. I strongly recommend J Perretti Builders to do your deck or any other building project you might have.

    Old landing and stairs.

My vintage house had a sad, small back door landing. A a narrow flight of stairs gave access down to the backyard. Jorge Perretti was recommended by friends, also with a vintage house, as resource to consult with regarding an elevated deck and replacement of the existing back door landing situation. I wanted to replace the small landing, and stairs, with a deck and new stairs. Jorge came over and within 15 minutes I knew this was going to work. The scope of the work included demotion of the existing landing, stairs, and concrete slab. The new deck would be designed and built to go up to the back of the house, but NOT rely upon the house for support. Jorge drew up beautiful plans and went to the city, for a permit. We had one minor hiccup, which was resolved in the same day. My vintage house is in an historic neighborhood. The planning department needed verification that adding a deck on to the back of the house was well within allowable changes. This was confirmed by a member of the Historic Resources Advisory Commission. During demolition, the crew did an excellent job. They were able to leave the back landing and stairs up for a little longer, than originally planned, since I needed them to let my dog out. When they were taken down, it was a mild inconvenience for about a week. The original design was going to be redwood decking and redwood railing / stainless steel cables. Jorge, after meeting my dog, suggested an alternative to redwood decking. I went with Garapa, a Brazilian Ash, which was also a painter friend had recommended. Very good hardwood and scratch resistant. It also has the insect resistant properties as Redwood. The original plans were mostly stuck to.A deck that would run from the back door to the East side of my house. The stairs would be wider and deeper. But, I did request lattice all around the bottom and fascia boards. Both of these enhancements was to cover the pressure treated wood, the "guts" of the deck. With the removal of the concrete slab and some of my flagstone, I wanted a good covering of pea gravel. It looks great! The deck is done! I am having a long-time friend and painting contractor do the final painting and staining, rolling it into other similar projects. The deck is about 250 sq feet. Just the right scale for my yard. Job well done! And, my dog loved meeting the various craftsmen that worked on the project. I would gladly recommend Jorge Perretti and J. Perretti builders to anyone.

Love our deck built by Jorge Perreti. Was not cheap but now we have a solidly built upper story composite deck . Old deck was rotted out and he suggested doubling the width from 5 to 10 feet. Great workers.

Completed deck with very old fence in the background.

I reached out to Jorge to build a 400 square foot deck in our backyard. He had some good suggestions for me and gave us a competitive price. His crew did an outstanding job building the deck and it's rock solid. They arrived every day early, worked constantly, and completed the deck ahead of schedule leaving the area spotless. I highly recommend J Perretti Builders.

And look -- that could have gone sideways real fast. Like, real fast. It didn't. Thank God. Here's the thing about this crew -- and I mean every single person who showed up -- they were just genuinely friendly. Not "we want your money" friendly. Actually friendly. The kind where you don't mind them being at your house for weeks. And on top of being friendly, they actually knew what they were talking about. I asked a lot of questions. Probably too many. Nobody fumbled. Nobody gave me the blank stare. Nobody redirected me to someone else. Just straight, confident answers from people who clearly know their craft. That goes for the construction crew, the painters, and the membrane repair team. All of them. Damn consistent across the board. Now -- I'll be real with you. Their quote came in a little higher than some of the other estimates we were getting. And yeah, I side-eyed it a little at first. But here's the thing -- the other quotes were coming from general contractors. And with something like this, I didn't want a generalist. I wanted a team that actually specializes in this kind of work. And that's exactly what I got. So honestly, the higher quote made complete sense once I thought about it. You're not paying more for the same thing -- you're paying for people who actually know what the hell they're doing at a deeper level than your average contractor. And as the project grew from a partial repair into a full deck reconstruction -- which, by the way, nobody saw coming -- the cost didn't blow up the way you'd expect it to. It stayed fair. It stayed honest. Nobody tried to squeeze extra money out of a situation that was growing by the week. When you zoom out and look at the whole picture, it's a no-brainer. You get what you pay for. And I couldn't be happier. Sammy and John were on it the whole time. Responsive, communicative, never left me hanging. And even after the project wrapped up and I came back with follow-up questions -- because I definitely did -- they were still right there. Patient, thorough, zero attitude. I had a lot of anxiety going into something this big, and somehow between Sammy's leadership and John keeping everything moving in the right direction, that anxiety just kind of... dissolved. Which, if you know me, is not easy to do. These guys just get it. Oh, and they cleaned up after themselves. Every single damn day. No nails. No debris. No "that's not my problem" energy. They treated my home like it was their own. Like, genuinely. I didn't have to ask once. Special shoutout to Sammy for always being reachable, to John for keeping the whole operation from going off the rails, and to Fernando, Armando, and Salvadore for their hard work and dedication on the ground -- these guys showed up every day and just handled their business. And honestly, the entire construction crew, the painters, and the membrane repair team deserve a shoutout too. Every single one of them showed up like it mattered. Because it did. These are good people doing great work and it shows. Most importantly -- I finally feel safe enjoying the outside of my home again. And honestly? That's everything.

I had an estimate that night. I wanted to compare to the quote from another company. Sammy was way more reasonable and I knew the quality I would get. Manuel arrived promptly Friday morning. A site visit was done by John, as a quality check, and he was great. I will continue to use EnviroTek for my decks and fences. Quality. Care. Value.

Final results are beautiful, quality, craftsmanship, and attention to detail. Very happy with all the work they did in the back of the house so we hired them to do additional work to the front of our house and replaced all wood with PVC product and all handrails and banisters with metal. They look absolutely gorgeous. I found their communication software very user friendly. Payment process was disclaimed at front based on milestones. Of course there's always glitches in the process and it wouldn't be fair to leave a review without mentioning them. 1- working to get architecture and engineering completed took a few months. 2- a significant surprising unsightly design change was not disclosed. There were additional costs to cover it up. 3- designer renderings showed all wood posts and joist in black paint but this was not included in the original cost, this was another significant cost increase. 4- all decks were to have lights on all railings, that was on the original contract. However, we were told later that the cost of an electrician was not included in our contract. This was yet another cost surprise. Overall, I am very pleased with everything as they addressed every single item that needed to be addressed and it looks beautiful. I will definitely hire them again, but just make sure to ask all posible questions no matter how silly to ensure that everything is included in that upfront quote and there are no surprises.
