BAU did DJ and lighting for our wedding last year and did a fantastic job. The wedding looked amazing thanks to the lighting, and most importantly my wife loved it. The DJ-ing was also spot-on. We had a schedule for music-timing and Gagan didn't miss a beat. Gagan was very helpful throughout the process. He provided good recommendations for lighting design (colors, positioning, etc), and he even helped us build a custom song list. On the wedding day his team was on time, setup quickly, and ready to go. He helped set up our slide show, video, and even helped with some announcements. The pricing was upfront and transparent - we knew what to expect and there were no surprises. BAU wasn't the lowest quote we got, but it was certainly a good value for the quality of work and I think well worth it. Something important, which probably gets overlooked, is that BAU uses nice equipment. The DJ booth was clean, sleek, and just looked real good. The LED lighting was cutting edge and just right in terms of color and brightness. You can tell by the quality of equipment that they take pride in their work. I've seen other vendors show up with crummy lighting or ghetto'ed-out DJ booths - and that just really brings down the whole event - totally not worth saving the little bit of money. Although long overdue, this review and all its stars are MUCH deserved. Gagan is the utmost professional. His services are more than fairly priced, his work clean, demeanor professional and he has a keen sense for the guests vibe that only a seasoned DJ could have. The service he provided and his execution far exceeds what he charges. In other words, Gagan is amazing and highly recommended! I found Gagan through Yelp. Based on his reviews, I reached out a bit hesitant because of my limited budget and intimate sized reception. I was ready for him to brush me off because my event wasn't as grand as what I saw he had done on Yelp. I was so wrong. Gagan responded immediately and quoted me far less than what other DJs and lighting companies had quoted. The stars don't stop there. Gagan met me at my reception venue, provided his expertise on lighting and booth placement and then we changed the venue (yes, we did). He was not only open to the last minute change but was familiar with the venue (only a seasoned professional would have this knowledge) and offered suggestions based on the new layout . We had other personal things going on so admittedly, I was not easy to get a hold of. Yet even with my radio silence Gagan emailed me with a gentle nudge for my music preference. I literally emailed him at what must have been 11pm THE DAY BEFORE the wedding with over 50 songs we liked and Gagan nailed it as we danced the night away to our favorite songs (circa 70s to present). The slower music we listed he used doing the dinner service of our reception. We even had our cousins singing our first dance. I never mentioned this to him yet that went off without a glitch as well. I remember turning to my husband later that evening and saying "I know everyone must say this, but our wedding is the best wedding I've ever been to," and Gagan was a part of that. Bay Area Uplighting provided uplighting and photobooth services for my wedding 2 weeks ago, and they were amazing!! Everything went so smoothly from the initial email to the night-of the event. Gagan promptly responds to emails and texts (which is very important when dealing with event vendors) and we got a really great price. For reals. (I had a spreadsheet of prices/quotes for all of the same services, and Bay Area Uplighting has some serious competitive pricing.) Choosing the uplighting colors and stock gobo was super easy; we just showed Gagan a few pictures of ideas we liked and when we entered the reception area, voila! Exactly what we had envisioned. The photobooth was very organized and the props were super fun! The photobooth attendant was very courteous, patient, and professional. The groom and I didn't get to take as many photos as we would have liked (kinda busy that night!), but all of our guests loved it! They gave us the USB for all of the photobooth photos at the end of the night (so prompt!), and you also have the choice of emailing photos to people in your group (if you are concerned about only having 2 copies/group). We genuinely loved working with Gagan and his team and the final product of services was more than we could have dreamed of. All I was trying to do was to finalize my contract! They tell me "You need to book quick, dates are filling fast!". Ok. I understand that, that is why I'm trying to get in contact with you to finalize a contract so I feel confident that you will be there on my wedding day. I have called and emailed multiple times to try to make a minor adjustment to my quote/contract before sending the final but no response. DJ Gagan did a wonderful job for our wedding reception on April 14, 2018 at the Presidio Golf Course and Clubhouse. He did an amazing job incorporating the playlist that I sent him for our reception. He also contacted me a week befor to go over the timeline, names of the bridal party, and specific song titles. He did a wonderful job checking in with me throughout the night to see if all of the events where on time. He truly got everyone on the dance floor and moving, despite their age. I am a techie (and yes, families expect techies to do everything for them, even change light bulbs), so family calls on me to get some help in organizing events too. Everytime I need lighting, dj, or need referral for other events related stuff, Gagan always comes through. I used these guys for my wedding reception. Not only they did the lighting and stuff, I depended on them to make sure everything else was all done right. They didn't have to do it, but they did. Dependable? yes, very!. Gagan both DJed our October wedding in Lake Tahoe and provided uplighting. I don't have photos yet to upload but he did an amazing job with both. He was by far our easiest vendor to work with. He had never been to our venue in Tahoe before (being a bay area located vendor) but did a wonderful job placing the uplighting - the interior of our venue was transformed. As for the DJ services, he kept the party going until the end. He took requests from guests and had a great attitude the whole evening. Everyone kept asking us who our DJ was! We also opted to have the Dhol player during our event and it was the best decision ever. I would highly recommend adding him to your package as guests commented on how he took the party to the next level by playing the Dhol during dancing. I worked with the team at Bay Area Uplighting on my September 2017 wedding in San Francisco and they did a really great job. Gagan was responsive, punctual and a good value for the service provided (he did uplighting at the venue). I noticed that the lights didn't come with the little covers in front of them when they were set up (which means that instead of your eye being drawn to the soft glow it tends to be drawn to the light source on the floor that it's coming from), but he was happy to bring some that he owns back to add them in before the wedding started (he didn't have enough for all of the lights though, so I removed one star - I think he'll probably get more of the covers in the future). Was pleasantly surprised by the attention to detail these guys brought to the table. My wife and I were hosting my parents anniversary party at a venue in Pleasanton and these guys made the event one for everyone to remember. I was put in charge of hiring lighting and sound for my cousins wedding, on February 1st 2013 at the Fremont Marriot. These guys absolutely know what they are doing when it comes to creating a classy and fun vibe. During the walk through Gagan brought lighting samples so we would know exactly how the lighting would look. Contract was signed and we put the deposit down. They showed up on time and everything was set and ready. The night was amazing the room was washed in purple and the DJ was awesome. We received many compliments from our guests. I was referred to DJ Gagan by my friend for DJ services a month prior to my wedding reception at Sneha. I must say that my wedding reception evening was just unforgettable. DJ Gagan did an excellent job by keeping up the crowd on the floor from start till the end of the night.
