He came w/ his coworker the next day and was in an out in about an hour (keep in mind it was just 1.5 rooms). They were fast, considerate of the space, and most importantly did a great job. Last Thursday we discovered that our water heater was leaking, and the water had gotten into nearby…read morewalls and caused mold to grow. I called Reactic Restoration on Friday, and Daniel Garza was able to inspect the damage that same day. Our house is older, so testing for asbestos was a standard part of the process; Daniel was able to get us in touch with an asbestos testing company that provides quick test results. That company got a tester to our house the next day (Saturday), and results were available Monday before noon. Fortunately, the tests showed that no asbestos was present. Daniel was able to assign someone to come to our house that same day, and set up dehumidifiers and plastic containment sheets with zipper doors, to seal the work zone, and to put down plastic to protect the carpet. On Tuesday, another team was able to remove the mold-affected wall materials, and wipe down the area with an excellent non-hazardous but effective disinfectant. They knew our preferred plumber was arriving at 1pm, and they were done with all work, including HEPA vacuuming and cleanup, before that time. The dehumidifiers are still set up, and will run for at least 48 hours. Daniel checked the area and the machines today (Wednesday), to make sure everything had been done correctly and that the dehumidifiers were working as intended. I am very happy with the service provided by Reactic Restoration. As Daniel kindly acknowledged on Friday, it's a shock to find mold in your house unexpectedly. It's been less than a week, and the mold is gone, and everything smells normal again! Everyone I encountered from Reactic was professional and kind. I hope we won't need their services again; but if we do, they will be our first call.

We're unfortunate where our slumlords never cleaned the carpets before we moved in, so they were dirtaaayy. Kobi was cool enough to show us how everything worked, he explained what kinds of cleaning methods are used for particular carpets/stains, and he wasn't pushy at all about the service he recommended. This was a relatively small incident, but I was told emergency services were needed immediately. Before receiving any meaningful explanation of the scope of work, I was sent a contract stating that there would be a minimum of $2,500 in charges. Two technicians arrived around 11:45 p.m. and left less than two hours later. They set up two dehumidifiers and four fans. (Later found out these emergency services cost $2500, NOT including any other work. 2 dehumidifiers and 4 fans!) On Monday, the project coordinator provided an estimate for over $8,000. When I requested an itemized breakdown, I found discrepancies that made me very uncomfortable: the estimate listed the wrong number of fans, several line items were unclear, and there was a $500 waste-removal charge for less than 50 square feet of drywall. They also billed 6.5 hours of technician "drive" time. The estimate appeared to bill for communication with insurance as well. Do not use Dry Kings if you want fair, transparent non-predatory service. Get an independent assessment and demand an itemized estimate before signing anything.
