Checked the shopping strips for a good lunch place, and we found it. Bay diner is not too big, and not too expensive. The staff is friendly. We sat at the counter and enjoyed chatting with our waitress Kaylee. She filled my coffee cup, and took our plates when finished. We both had the chicken salad on croissant. My friend had a good portion of tator tots. I had the sweet cole slaw. Everything was delicious. The large menu has breakfast and lunch items served until 2:30. Wooden booths are on the side. We originally went out looking for a coffee shop, then saw the Bay Diner. We had never been so decided to stop in. It was busy the entire time we were there. The wait was about 20, exactly what staff told us. We were seated in a comfortable booth and service was quick. I appreciate coffee in a diner mug. The coffee was good. It was served with dried coffee dripped down the side. My husband and oldest enjoyed their meals. The sausage omelette was made well and the pancakes were fluffy. My oldest liked the squeeze bottle of syrup. There were no true vegan options. I did end up with tater tots and fruit for my meal. Very fun Midwest small town vibes! Decore of Bay through the years and fun vintage license plates! Their service is always excellent! Very attentive throughout the day! The food is actually really good (the tots are crispy and golden brown) I got the Club sandwich! Very good! Lots of meat! Looking for a diner type breakfast on a Sunday morning and happened upon this little gem. Nothing crazy but very solid breakfast items. Service was quick and friendly. It was quite busy but we never felt rushed. Ordered the corned beef hash breakfast and the biscuit & sausage gravy breakfast. Everything was great and both came with 2 eggs and toast. Best biscuits and gravy hands down! The first thing I noticed was the food was served piping hot. I appreciate this because of if not I send it back to have it heated up. The biscuits are fluffy and hot! The gravy is delicious! I got an order of sausage links on the side. They were cooked perfectly and again hot! Service was top notch with very nice & genuine people. Bay Diner has wonderful service (Kaylee was our server). She was attentive and got our food to us about 12 minutes after ordering. The food was great along with the presentation of the food. The chairs were worn out and the bathroom could have been cleaner. The root beer was thick, a lot sweeter than it was supposed to be, and flat (the brand was mug). the overall Diner was clean and it was an enjoyable environment. The Bay Diner is the only diner on the West side I frequent. It's exactly what you would expect for a no-frills breakfast spot. They have all the usuals. I love the Western omelette with crispy hash browns. The sausage patty is also a savory treat. Prices are reasonable and the staff is friendly. It is basic and clean ambiance. Sometimes the hash browns are a little burnt (my only complaint). I love that they are so fast. It's in a mini shopping plaza. Will be back again. read more

My class recently took a field trip to Bay Diner following our lecture and instruction on, "Food Critics and Restaurant Reviews." The group had wonderful things to say which included excellent customer service, bang for your buck with the food value, the food taste was excellent, and the food delivery was timely and hot. Some things they also observed were: the furniture needs to be upgraded (tears in the seats, wobbly tables) the bathrooms needs a bit of attention (rusty faucets, floors a bit dirty, poor soap quality) We had a lovely lunch and hope to visit again. We were in from out of town and made the selection based on yelp reviews. It is the kind of local place we love to go to. The place is small we had a very short wait. The place is popular based on the volume at the time 8:30 a.m. We split banana walnut waffle with, hash browns with cheese onion and jalapeño, all of it was great. $31.00 for breakfast for two, sold!!! I was in town for a family reunion, me and a couple family members stopped in for breakfast. I can say wasn't disappointed. The diner is small on the inside, but it didn't take to long for us to get seated. The wait staff was nice and the food came out fairly quickly. The food was good and not too pricey. Here we go, on the road to fast becoming regulars. This place is a little gem in the heart of Bay off Dover Center. I have no idea how they do their bacon- it's perfect! The servers are the absolute sweetest, the food is fantastic, and it's so clean! One haha for me is there is a sign above the men's restroom. It says "court is in session" and lights up when someone uses the bathroom. Hilarious!! But this place gets a full on 5 star from me. Adorable place and people. :) read more

As an FYI the tuna does not have onions in it. The flatbread sandwich was good. Lots of bacon, good amount of avocado too. It was large. Same with the tuna melt. Nice size.
