First time at Thyme. Won't be my last. The food was delicious and the service (Mallory) was outstanding. My friend and I both ordered The Lemon Shrimp Pasta. I ordered the Crispy Brussels and she selected the Roasted Garlic Whipped Mascarpone. The pasta was delicious. And so were the Brussels. The Whipped Mascarpone was OK, although both of us thought the combination of the cheese, garlic, lemon, and pretzel crackers were a little too much. Both thought the garlic was too forward, and the mascarpone would have been better with just the lemon and/or perhaps with a touch of honey...even hot honey. The portions were all huge and we each took an additional meal home. Ordered coffee to end the evening and were delighted that they came as French Press coffee rather than just regular brewed. The venue is very nice albeit quite loud. Conversation was challenging, but manageable. We will be back. read more

Third time at Thyme Table! Came back because we were in the area going to Cedar Point. This is probably the best restaurant in the area. All the food is super inventive and flavorful. They also usually have a very unique cocktail menu, but this time they didn't have one which was disappointing. They just had their regular cocktail/drink menu, but we still really enjoyed our cocktails. To start we got the hummus and rosemary focaccia. The focaccia was sooo soft and delicious. I especially loved the whipped fig honey butter. For my entree, I got the Thai spicy chicken sandwich and it was sooo good. I wanted to finish it but I think I filled up on too much bread lol. I felt like the fries didn't really add anything to it and were a bit plain and meh. I liked the fingerling potatoes a lot more. Their desserts are amazing. We sat on the patio on a Saturday night and even though there were some empty tables, I highly encourage making a reservation at this popular restaurant for the weekend. I loved the arugula salad! I hate paying for a basic salad I can easily make at home but this salad had pistachios, mint, fruit (YUM). The menu is perfectly designed for all different pallets. Drink menu is designed to inspire all kinds of combinations that you normally wouldn't think go. In my opinion, the drinks could be a little better. It's a lot of wording and confusion sometimes for a simple drink. I respect the concept however. The staff is extremely friendly and willing to do whatever needs to be done. The appetizers were unreal. Lobster tots were our favorite. The bone marrow tartare was pretty good.My food was fantastic. I got the surf and turf with a steak medallion, shrimp, asparagus and potatoes. The size isn't the largest but the taste and plate make up for it. The steak and potatoes were great. Awesome flavor. My friend tuna dish he said was very good. The only thing keeping this from the 5 star is the dessert. We order 3 separate desserts and all three left us less than intrigued. I was looking forward to having calamari and was pretty disappointed as it was not as good as we hoped it would be. The beet salad was dry. I had an uncertain feeling about this place as soon as certain coworkers absolutely raved about it. I also have high expectations for places that are known for small but pricey plates. They have a very small space to begin with and a cramped setting. I called just a few minutes before and they had a 2-person table but upon parking, another couple took it not 30 seconds before I arrived. It was a Tuesday evening for goodness sakes. So we sat at the bar which was pretty uncomfortable. Anyways, my BF and I ordered lobster tots, Thyme burger and the summer trifle dessert. Lobster tots were good, no complaints! Burger was okay but their fries were atrocious! Dry, undercooked, not crunchy, unseasoned, just bad. I asked for hot sauce and the server gave me ketchup the first time. She came back with their house hot sauce but it was so bland and bad--just bitter spicy with no other flavor or depth. Our servers were quite friendly and one of them was especially helpful. She anticipated the takeout containers I'd need before asking! The dessert was the biggest disappointment. For $16, the "cake" was as big as a 4oz drink in a tiny mason jar. It looked fresh but was so bland. How can cherries be bland? The blueberry ice cream wasn't bad but soooo little of a scoop. I definitely don't feel a need to come back here. A short drive from where we were staying in Crocker Park, the menu felt like a welcome upgrade from the surrounding chain restaurants. The atmosphere hit that sweet spot: relaxed yet polished, without feeling pretentious. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, with helpful guidance through the menu. The Everything Bagel Martini jumped off the cocktail menu and was the reason I ordered a martini in the first place. It sounded so unique I couldn't pass it up, and it paid off. Unexpected and true to its namesake. Apps for the table were the lobster tots and fried deviled eggs. Thyme Table was wonderful. We started with Brussel sprouts, calamari and the focaccia, all three were excellent. I got the salmon with whipped cauliflower, corn and asparagus. We were seated on the covered porch area. It was a chilly night and the heaters were on. We were seated very close to a heater and it was very warm, almost too warm. The covered porch is very narrow so there was a ton of space. The food was wonderful. I don't normally like eggplant, but the way it was prepared was very good. The burger was top notch.We ordered two desserts for the table to share and ended up ordering another cheesecake. Our server was very attentive, helpful and friendly. A scallop appetizer was prepared exceptionally and I had Spice stewed lentils (spice as in flavorful, not hot). Coconut polenta, vegan citrus crema. It was perfect. My wife had potato gnocchi with mushroom ragu. Both of us would get our meals again, except there were so many other dishes we'd like to try. Could have easily been shared with a group of 4. Dip was just okay, maybe it needed more chives or a kick. The roasted vegetables and risotto was perfect. The mushrooms were cooked to perfection. Before coming to Cleveland, I looked up some well-talked about places to dine for the evening. And Thyme Table popped up on a list. Definitely a fan of this place and we look forward to coming back. The Great: There is such a sense of community in here; it seemed like a locals spot where many of the patrons knew the bartenders and restaurant staff. The bartenders were not only friendly but very knowledgeable. One patron had commented on the great bourbon selection behind the counter, and the bartender was able to speak confidently about the different types of bourbon as well as whip up a few different drinks the patron hadn't tried before. I don't get into bourbon myself, but he had my full attention when he pulled out this little machine that shaped a cylinder of ice into a perfect sphere. I enjoyed my Aperol Spritzer as well as my House Black Pasta, but the star of the show was the Loaded Lobster Tots. Crunchy tots + cheesy cheese + large pieces of lobster + perfectly shaved chives = perfection. Next time, I'm getting the larger size as my meal! The Confusing: Upon entering the restaurant, there were at least two empty tables, one perfectly set for four people and another that hadn't been cleaned yet also for four people. Yet we were told that the wait for a table indoors would be about 20 minutes while there was no wait for outside. It was a chilly night and even with the heaters, I wasn't interested in eating outdoors. So we opted to sit at the bar but during our entire visit, those two tables remained open. The website communicated very clearly that there no reservations permitted so I don't know what the deal was. Secondly, the lights kept dimming and then going back to full brightness randomly throughout our time there. Even the staff was confused as to what was happening. The Certain: We'll be coming back to Cleveland, therefore we'll be coming back to Thyme Table. Despite the twilight zone lights and open tables, we really enjoyed the staff and atmosphere. Warm lighting, great smells from the kitchen, and attentive service. We waited about 15 minutes, which was fine because the hostess served us drinks.
