I was recommended by a neighbor who got their ev charger installed by Kevin and decided to reach out to get mine done too. I don't have a good idea of what's work is required to install an ev charger in a multi family housing garage that has concrete so I almost reached out blind. Except for the fact that I had an idea on the type of charger I want and that getting the city electrical permit wasn't enough, I had to send in the application with our HOA. When I reached out and told Kevin I had interest as I was looking to purchase an EV, I felt no pressure from him to get the job done asap or to sign a contract with him or anything. He was super laid back and explained everything to me in great detail based on the info and videos I sent him and told me what we could be estimating for cost based on the previous job he did in the building but told me to reach out after I finalized the purchase of my vehicle. I called about a circuit that was out in my house- which I'd tried to reset several times. Kevin told me not to waste my money on something I could fix myself. Over the phone, he walked me through how to properly reset the switch (push it to off HARD till you hear it click!) and then reset the GFCI outlets. Kevin could have made some quick and easy money off of me. But he chose not to, and saved me several hundred dollars and a good deal of headache in the process. Would you believe he called me an hour later to see if it had worked? Happily, yes, the lights were on and the fans were fanning! We communicated by email and text so that I could show him the area where I would need to install my car charger, but I didn't communicate how difficult it would be to get from the electrical panel to my garage. Undaunted, Kevin tried everything he could until he succeeded, including going out to get the correct drill bit. He saved me over $1000 that it would have cost to have someone come in to do the drilling and he completed the job successfully and honored his original estimate, which I thought was fair to begin with. I found Bay Electric and Kevin on the Tesla website as an suggested service provider. I was quoted $1200 to install the wall charger (not including the charger itself). Upon getting to the property, I was told that my main was full so I would have to relocate some breakers to install a sub. No matter -- I wanted the charger in. Fortunately, there was a small subpanel in the truck so we could complete the job right there and then. The total cost came out to $2000. While the price seemed pretty reasonable up front, it conveniently did not include a permit. Moreover upon putting in my solar a few months later, DBI said I needed to re-wire from the main to the sub because Bay Electric had put in the wrong gauge. So long story short, that was another couple hundred to a different electrician and another day that I had to stay home at work. Overall the work was fine and came in at a lower cost for quotes but this shouldn't be difficult to any (licensed) electrician to perform. read more

I contacted BAY ELECTRIC in SF several weeks ago to fix/repair the long fluorescent light tube & fixture in the garage. Keven, the owner, responded, explained the problem and replaced/fixed it and cleaned up the area under the fixture where he was working. He also replaced a light switch in the kitchen. Years ago I had an electrical box with a timer installed in the garage to power a small deck. I needed to have someone re-route the power off of the timer and direct it to the existing gray electrical power box on the deck. Two days ago I called Kevin at BAY ELECTRIC in SF to do the job. He was unable to come out but offered to send Yoni who also works at Bay Electric. Yoni arrived promptly when he said he would. I showed him what needed to be done. I offered him the ladder in the garage. When he was finished he returned the ladder to its proper place and made sure the area under he was working was clean. Yoni also checked the gray electrical box on the deck to make sure everything was working correctly. I am extremely pleased with both Kevin and Yoni and their work ethics. "Wow!" is not enough to say how ETHICAL Kevin the electrician is. I mistakenly left a portable heater on then used a blow dryer at the same time...you guessed it....tripped the circuit breaker. Power out instantly. I then tried to reset the breaker but it didn't work. I called Kevin because of the great reviews on here. Told him the problem. He then asked me to text him a picture of the circuit breaker panel. After looking at the picture, he told me exactly what to do over the phone. Then Voila! Power came back on. When one of the circuits on a vintage breaker panel at my building failed and wouldn't turn back on, it seemed the whole panel might need replacement. Last night, Bay Electric saved me $150 plus the cost of ordering a pizza. I was about to cook dinner, and when I went to turn on the oven, I realized there was no power. I went and checked the fuse box and found everything looked normal. I flipped some switches and went back to the oven, and still nothing. It was only one side of the kitchen, weirdly. So I called Bay Electric, talked to someone amazing whose name I didn't catch, and then at his request, texted a photo of my fuse box. He called me back and told me that I just needed to find some switch "test" and "reset" on the correct outlet and that would probably take care of it.
