Bay medic was contracted through modivcare to be my mother Isabel Tienda's transportation. I'm very happy with their service, they have been so friendly and take care of my mother when she is in their care. My sister Linda (not sure what happened) she lives with our mother and I guess the first morning crew that came she don't really like. When I asked what the issues was she just said they didn't seem very friendly (I wasn't there so I don't know) but then again my sister will pick any little thing about something not to like someone. As long as you're taking care of our mother and good to her (yes please be friendly with the family) but I do understand if someone is not bright eyed and bushy tailed at 5 am. I've never came across anyone who wasn't friendly when I'm there and they drop her off. They're always mentioned how appreciative they are that we have this long white thing that helps carry out mother that we put under the sling. I told my sister to use that so it makes it easier for them to pick up our mom! They always ask us if we need help with anything else after they help out her in her hospital bed. The people who came on Monday helped us turn her in bed and they don't have to do that. They really go above and beyond. I'm happy that they were contacted with my mom because she needs a gurney for now to go to dialysis due to her having a stage 4 pressure ulcer she got from her stay at a rehabilitation and the hospital. The contract ends on the 31st but I hope they are able to pick up another one through modivcare because my mom will still need a gurney. Or if we get another company that has drivers like bay medic I would be fine with that. I didn't even realize they were in concord. I live here in concord and my mother is in Hayward. So when I come down to help take care of her I only see the 2nd crew that comes. I appreciate your drivers and how friendly and helpful they are. Thank you for helping my family and making my mom comfortable while you transport her. Every time you drop her off she always says thank you to the drivers. I appreciate you guys! I just mentioned this because I witnessed when one day they brought out mother she asked them to do feet first (it doesn't matter) as long as she gets on the room but I saw she got annoyed and they didn't do anything wrong. read more

The drivers were caring and very professional. They moved decisively but also with great care. I had never been transported in an ambulance, so I was nervous and concerned. However, the drivers were so professional that I felt at ease. They told me what was going to happen before we proceeded. While they always moved with a purpose, they were careful to always be safe. horrible ems service, do not remmend. kaiser had this ambulance company show up to pick up my father and take him to kaiser. one emt was not in uniform and the other emt was rude and hostile. when it came to transfering my father from their gurney to the er bed at kaiser they needed to put a sheet under him first, the emts attempted to log roll my father on the side of his fracture which would have caused a lot of pain. so i told them to please log roll him on the side where the fracture isnt not present. one of the emt named michael mcghee did not take that request so well and mentioned under his breath " i need to get the f**k up out of here". i got very upset and told them that i would take it from here cause emt michael needs to "get the f**k up outta here" like he said. emt michael then walked over and got in my face and began a verbal altercation with me. a told him to get out of my face and then his partner got him out of the er room. the kaiser er nurse staff called security and told the emt crew to leave. the nurse staff later apoligized to us about the whole incident once they knew the whole story of what happened. they told me to file a report and that they would also back me up on the incident that took place. very unproffesional and very hostile. we called the company and complained but they made it sound like they could care less of what happened. if you care about your family, there are other ambulance companies out there that will do a professional job and do their job so much better than this one. read more

You two by far go above and beyond with mom! You realize if you leave your jobs you are taking her with you! She has gotten comfortable with this great team of EMT's and we are thankful for all of you. I called then cause I had severe pain they took me to another county they drove real slow no a.c and when I asked them why don't they have the sirens on they said it was an emergency when I got there. To hospital st Judd they told the staff I was a problem so they said take him up front as a walk in I collapsed on the floor I laid there for 12 hrs like that someone walked and seen I was turning another. Color next thing they are trying to figure out what happened they were in a frantic cause I had a wrist band on they realized my appendix had bursted and I was laying there for 12 hrs in toxic my stomach has not been the same I could of died. Modesto location has some favoritism goin on when comes to Emt's and medical transporters. Also perhaps too much transporters which results in less working days and possibly termination. I was let go because of lies of some of the people there and most likely favoritism. Good personalities there just don't become comfortable with them,might get stabbed in the back because some people may be kind but they unfortunately have another motive to get u fired by complaining to the supervisor even though the patients taken care of thought u did an outstanding job. Absolutely would not recommend. My one year old had a medically indicated transfer for higher level of care, the workers were nice but did not know how to properly place a car seat on the stretcher, were not comfortable taking vitals prior to leaving on a small child so I did it for them, the ride to the hospital was not reassuring they talked about the facility he was being transferred to very negatively about how most of the time they are taking people away from there, they didn't understand why they would be bringing him there, that they wouldn't want their family going there which as a parent did not make me feel comfortable and confident in a high risk situation that was already stressful. They told me that most rides were covered by insurance when medically necessary, and then I received a bill for over 4,000$ out of pocket. When I called the company they said the best they could do was 20% off If I signed up for payments today. I signed up for auto pay and was making payments monthly and they sent me a bill threatening to send me to collections because they had no record of payments. I checked my bank account and I had been in fact charged every month which they had no record of. Not only was the service not 4,000$ worth, but then to have to deal with their billing not keeping accurate records is another disappointment. I would absolutely not allow them to transfer my loved ones again. I would not recommend them at all. When you call with concerns they don't care, they only care about the bill being paid, and when you ask where you can voice concerns they tell you to go to yelp and leave a review instead of sending you to a supervisor or owner to speak to, and when you ask for one they tell you that you are not allowed to speak with one. read more

My grandmother needed to be transferred from the hospital to a nursing home. The hospital wasn't able to to schedule a transfer so I had to call myself. The dispatchers were able to take my information quickly and with such a caring attitude. I called around 5pm and the EMTs where there within 35 minutes. They were so caring and gentle of my grandmothers condition and kept her entertained the whole ride. And I have continued to use their services for the past 2 months for doctors appointments. I know a lot of people have complaints about their timeliness but 9/10 they are on time, profesional, and respectful. I look forward to using their services again as should other people! read more

They arrived 1 and 1/2 hours late to pick up a patient for an important medical appointment, because the company sent the ambulance to the wrong place and scheduled too many calls. Kaiser should stop using Bay Medics. The medics are wonderul, but the company is all about profit. Kaiser should start their own transportation system. read more

Although I see people have rated them higher it has been my documented experience that this company is under-staff and does not utilize technology to make it business. I concluded that they are understaffed and the lack of technology utilize because in each instance of them arriving late, on average one to two hours late, to picked up my family member late, the dispatcher cannot give an a approximate time of arrival of the pick, even though a pre-arrange time was given three in advance, they do not notify you when the would be arriving late, and there always discrepancies between the dispatcher and drivers ( which are very caring and professional) as to the cause of late arrivals and returns. For a transportation companies not to utilize the same aspects of notifying their customers, especially those who are in dire need of medical care and whom are a tight schedule for feeding and medications, in the age of Uber and Lyft, and smartphone. This could do much much better for its most vulnerable and elderly clients. read more

This place just left my grandmother for hours at her doctor appt. when you take this on you know you have to bring them back you're an ambulance service not a taxi not only did you just leave her but when you finally came back you never checked her in therefore left in a wheelchair in her room unattended for hours in fecies you're asking for a lawsuit! Our family needed to transport my brother to the VA hospital (non-emergency) in Martinez ASAP, my sister called and talked to dispatch and they were able to arrange pick up within an hour while other ambulance companies were 3 hours or more for pick up. The EMT's that showed up at my house were very professional and caring. They were able to get my brother out of a room that was very difficult to maneuver thru without hurting him. The trip was much easier on him than I expected because of the care from the EMT's. Our family will forever be grateful for the caring and compassionate care we received from Bay Medic. read more

My 85 year old mother- with Alzheimer's- required transportation from her Skilled Nursing Facility to return to her Dementia Care Facility. This was a prescheduled, non-emergent transfer. They arrived in a timely manor. I did not see them introduce themselves. My biggest complaint was that there was No blanket, or even a paper sheet available to cover her up!! She was in a hospital gown with bare legs, fortunately, was wearing socks!! I "borrowed" a sheet from the facility to provide the minimum of comfort-- not to mention dignity!! They transported her, without incident, to her facility. When I arrived in her room, I found her laying on top of the bedspread on her side. Even though there was a throw blanket available, she was left uncovered and exposed. They did not even cover her bottom with the hospital gown she was wearing!!! Absolutely unconscionable treatment for any patient, let alone someone Not able to help themselves!!! read more

Nobody ever wants to spend time in an ambulance, unless you're frolicking in the back with some hot firemen or EMTs. Unfortunately, one of my family members has been needing ambulance services for more traditional reasons lately and Bay Medic has taken great care of her. The driver, Sayed Hashimi, was cheerful, helpful and took great care of my loved one. The flat charge was about $150 and that included round trip transport to the doctor, waiting for her during that time, helping with oxygen, and getting her back home safely. It's a huge relief for the family not to worry about the transportation component and knowing that a competent, friendly professional can handle the job. read more

My grandmother needed to go to the hospital from the Nursing home. We called BayMedic because her Nursing home recommended BayMedic in Concord. When she leaves her room she needs her oxygen equipment to be carried also. We called Bay Medic and Mr. Abdiani who is the manager sent a medic right away. Bay Medic sucks!!! They have left my father sitting at dialysis for 2 hrs after he was done this is twice now and I'm getting pissed. He is done with his appointment at 5:30 and they don't show up until 7:30. You can't do that dialysis patients are wiped out afterward. I can not wait until my dad leaves that damn nursing facility. My wheelchair-bound mother called for a basic transport pick-up from Kaiser Hospital Walnut Creek at 5:30pm today, to her nursing facility in Concord. That's a 15-20-minute ride. She was told it would take 20 minutes for the transit to arrive. At 6pm there'd been no sign of the transport, so she called again and was told they'd arrive in 15-20 minutes, and that they were coming from Concord. At 6:30, STILL no sign of the transport, so Mom called yet again. And was told "they're on their way." They finally showed up at 6:55, and the driver said they were "short-handed, were coming from San Pablo, and had another patient." Bay Medic needs to hire dispatchers who can either A) accurately tell time or B) tell the truth! I don't drive, so couldn't transport Mom myself. Bay Medic SUCKS! read more

I have seen how this company runs itself. It is a company that pressures staff to constantly be speeding to make over booked appointments. It under pays, and im pretty sure illegally pays for the hours it requires of employees. ( I hope someone looks into this) Although, the employees that work there are amazing people. They love their job, but get treated like dirt so they can get the experience they need to work for better companies. I would never recommend this company to anyone. "the truth is that the ambulances there are operated below safe levels. Bald tires, steering misalignment, air conditioning/heating that didn't work, sub-standard maintenance, ambulances with chronic mechanical problems. The list of neglect continues which reflects upon the owners who would consciously overlook the conditions of their vehicles, to focus instead on saving money (in direct and indirect ways) by upholding estimated time of arrivals to and from patient transports. Bay Medic needs to be thoroughly investigated by the Department of Transportation if it hasn't been done already. Disappointing is the best word to describe. I booked the service to pick up my mom from the hospital. I called around noon for a 4:30pm pick up. I was told by the hospital that she would be ready at that time so I called Bay Medic for a second time around 3:30pm to change the pick up time to 6:30. I received a call at 6:15 pm saying that they would not be able to pick her up as it's out of their area. Mind you, we are in rush hour traffic and I'm at least 50 minutes away with no traffic. Needless to say, I was very upset. They apologized however, it didn't change the fact that she was unable to get home. I understand mistakes however it's what you do after the mistake which becomes important. When I asked for a call from a Supervisor, I received nothing. I had to call several days later to get an apology however, it's days later. read more

My experience has been the same as many of the other reviews about Bay Medic. I need to use a transport company to take my Mom to her various doctors appointments. Bay Medic is unreliable, most often not showing up at all or arriving very late even though I have scheduled their services days in advance. Never an apology or recognition of the impact on my Mom or her physicians. I would not recommend them to anybody - even if they were the only company left! read more

I'm not sure of any other job that would let you take leave on call and except you with open arms upon your return. I would not recommend Bay Medic to anyone. They left my 89 year old mother stranded at the Dr. after her appointment. First they said it would only be 25 minutes. After waiting 40 minutes for them to pick her up and take her back to the nursing home they informed me it you be another 35 minutes. Again I waited, called again it would be another 40 minutes. My poor mother was tired, hungry and needed to use the restroom. She had a stroke and is unable to walk or stand and she is hard of hearing. By this time we are both crying because I really didn't know how I was going to get her back, I could not lift her. I had to ask a person at the Dr.'s office to please help me put my mom in the car, so I could drive her back myself. read more

I called Bay Ambulance non-emergently to assist with my father (who is cognitively impaired) who was weak and had shortness of breath. My father received a breathing treatment given by the facility he was at and the medic called me to claim that he is doing much better and didn't need to go to the hospital, nor did my father want to go to the hospital. The medic spoke AT me and not with me. I later took my father to the emergency department myself where he was admitted to the hospital being treated for a possible heart attack and pneumonia. I called Bay Ambulance to voice my concerns and spoke with one of the owners regarding the clinical judgement of the medic. Not only was the medic's clinical judgement wrong regarding whether my father was sick, but he allowed a cognitively impaired man to say he didn't want to go to the hospital. The individual I spoke to insulted me by telling me "you must be the worst nurse practitioner ever", screamed at me and hung up on me. I am sure not all of the employees are this way, but the owner's behavior and lack of professionalism is very concerning for how the business is run. This is a horrible ambulance company they are all about quantity and not quality and are ALWAYS late. They are unprofessional and their dispatchers argue on the phone with there EMT's about collecting money ( they are over priced) and even left my father at the hospital once because we needed another 10 mins. to get ready and they said they weren't willing to wait! The ambulances are filthy and old and the owners of the company are foreigners who are extremely rude and uncaring. I looked them up online and they have even killed their patients no joke in 12/2008 they crashed and killed a woman in Palo Alto, CA!!! I've stopped using this company and am using another I highly recommend ProTransport or AMR they are professional clean and extremely nice people. Take my advice avoid this company!!! read more

Drivers are professional and good. Scheduling is a big problem particularly for patients with dialysis where they go for therapy on a regular schedule three or four times per week. We often have to wait for our father's van for up to two hours for a 15 minute trip across town. By the time he gets back to his nursing home, he has not eaten, gone to the toilet or had pain meds for almost six hours. The drivers feel bad about it but they are overbooked. read more
