Bought a new car less than a year ago - a couple of days ago I started having a dashboard error that I needed an answer on and the service department doesn't answer/call back. Decided to call the showroom to see if someone might have an idea what the issue is since they should be remotely familiar with the cars and the dashboard messages (wrong). Spoke to most obnoxious woman who spoke to me like I was the biggest moron on the planet. In addition to being COMPLETELY USELESS she had a HORRIBLE attitude and then she HUNG UP ON THE PHONE. I am writing this review in hope that Bay Ridge gets their act together. I have purchased and own a 2018 Mazda CX5 which I am content. Their service and sales need help. Everytime I call to schedule or bring the car in for service it is a total waiste of my time. You can never get through and it's like they are receiving their first call for service. Worthy of less than zero stars. Wish I'd read the other reviews before wasting my time with this dealership. I responded to 2 specific cars on their website and received prompt replies by both email and phone providing price and confirming that both cars were still available. After an addtl call with a different person it was again confirmed that the cars were both available and physically on premises so that I could compare the colors, and I was pushed for a time when I'd arrive so the cars could be brought out front for me. I made it abundantly clear that I had a minimum 1.5 hour drive and I would not be tolerant of any bait and switch, but was assured not to be worried. When I arrived it was apparent that neither car was out front, and once I tried to close the deal I learned that neither car even existed. The manager (Dan) expressed zero empathy that I'd been completely misled and had traveled such a long distance, though he was quick to try to upsell me on a more expensive car. He "promised" to inform those I'd spoken with to avoid a recurrence. He confirmed that he had a copy of the email I'd been sent so he's either complicit in the deceit being perpetrated or simply incompetent. After a 2.5 hour return trip I'm now F-IN FURIOUS. I decided to check up and did a chat with the dealership to see if I'd get a different response this time around yet was told the car "is showing as available". I repeatedly asked the guy to absolutely confirm availability but he ignored my requests and pushed for more info - what time I'd be arriving, my surname, my contact info. In summary from my experience and others here - if you enjoy being lied to, are tolerant of bait and switch tactics, enjoy being mistreated or ignored, and like to deal with inconsiderate/uncaring people, then by all means this is the perfect place for you - otherwise STAY FAR FAR AWAY!! Scheduled an appointment with Bay Ridge Mazda. I was the first customer that day. The check in process is average. Told that it will take 1.5 hour to complete the service. Waited for 3 hours and there is still no news on my vehicle. I went to inquire it with the service advisor, his response is that there are other cars and I told you that there will be a wait. Am I haveing a stroke and forgot what the wait time he told me or is he implying that I am lying. I asked politely for him to check, then he told me that the service dept is in their lunch break and won't be back for another hour. I would appreciate a more accurate wait time. If I would have known that the wait is long I would have gone home and return at the end of the day. I feel that the advisor is not professional and my time is not valued. read more

I purchased a brand new Mazda CX-5 from Bay Ridge Mazda on January 3, 2022. 11 months later I noticed that the low oil light was coming on intermittently. I checked the oil and it was low. I thought this was odd because I always get my car serviced at the prescribed intervals. On January 7, 2023 I took the car for an oil change and I mentioned to the tech that I had to put oil in the car and I thought it was weird. After the service was done, the tech told me it seemed something was wrong with the seal on my car. He said he had never seen such a problem on a car with less than 12,000 miles on it and that I would have to bring it back for further diagnostics. He told me the seal held the engine and the transmission into place and that it was a "big job". He told me to call Robert, the service manager on Monday. When making the appointment, I was told they didn't know how long I would have to leave the car and that they had no loaner vehicles. I said this was ridiculous, that I needed a car for work and it was less than 12,000 miles on a brand new vehicle purchased from this dealer. We finally worked it out that if it had to be left multiple days, I would get a loaner. I ended up dropping the car off January 13th where photos were taken and and "sent to Mazda tech". I was told I would hear something on Monday. Monday was MLK day so I waited until Wednesday and called because I still heard nothing. When I called both Robert and Muhammad (manager) were rude and dismissive and told me they heard nothing from Mazda. The next day I received a feedback request from Mazda in which I gave a low rating. Two days later Robert called me and asked me about the feedback. I asked him if he called to harass me about the feedback rating. He said no, but then had no reason to call, as they allegedly still had not heard from Mazda. Bay Ridge Mazda is apparently now freezing me out as no one takes my calls about fixing the vehicle. Avoid this dealer like the plague! read more

I had a great experience over there running into the nicest sales person I have ever talked to, her name is Rose. She treated me and my family very professionally and she wasn't intrusive like most of the car dealers are. She was there to answer our questions and knew how to offer the car while not dragging us to her desk to buy the car and sign the papers right away on the spot. We were debating between a Mazda and a Jeep car (initially in favor of Jeep) and we ended up buying the Mazda, because she knew what she was saying, when giving us reasonable true responses to every comparing categories. Elvis is the MAN. He is thoughtful, honest, and very engaging as a person. You can tell he really cares about the customers and the staff. The showroom is beautiful and the staff was attentive and smiley faced. I had put in a deposit on a 2017 Machine Gray CX-5 that was on its way in a couple days, however I was in a time crunch and unfortunately I had to get it from another dealership. I was literally standing on my hands to try to stay with Elvis on just how good a salesman he is but also he gave me the numbers I was looking for with the Trade-in. Everyone at this Mazda is nice. He answers all questions and truly makes you feel comfortable without being a typical pushy salesman. Additionally after all of the dealerships I went to, he was the first to start off with a test drive so I could see how the car operates and see all of he features of the car in real life situations. Its one thing to read about these great features but to actually see and feel them before we talk numbers. It is because of him I bought my car. Ok, I have been in the market to buy a new vehicle for a while now. I am so indecisive that I scare myself out of purchasing. I visited Bay Ridge Mazda to check out the CX5 and I must say Vince Greene made the visit very comfortable. He was not trying to pressure me but he had all the answers that I needed. I will say that was the most amazing service that I have seen in a long time; most dealers try to push you into just any vehicle to make a sell, that was not Vince, although he was persistent it was not unbearable. He was extremely charismatic. I know I am a picky buyer but I will be making up my mind within the next week or two and I know I am going to buy from Vince; the CX5 seems like it will fit my wife more but I have my eye on another vehicle. We all know when dealing with a car dealership there is always going to be some type of issue. Well, at first the experience was decent, but the fake friendly attitude eventually kicked in. Which is fine, because they want to make a deal. They had me there for 4 hours and would not give me information on my trade in value and the residual value of the new lease I was interested in. Caesar beat around the bush delaying much of he process along with his managers, who I never met. Every time I asked about the trade in value, he said we are just waiting due to short staff. It took four hours to tell me they will give the lease for the deal I was given but nothing out of pocket. I continued to ask about the trade. He then (Caesar), says that would be the trade. No down payment. Basically, $1300 for a car that's worth $4400-$4700. By far due to lack of experience and a four hour delay on info, the worst experience I have with a dealer. Very unprofessional and inexperienced to all in that facility. I am a current Honda customer from bay ridge, but sue to the connection with Mazda, I will not be doing business with them again. Sexist, old school crooks. My wife went in for NY State inspection and front brakes, nothing special rotors and pads. To begin with, she was charged $120 just to look at the car on top of the inspection. Keep in mind that front brakes typically cost around $250, you can buy the parts for $120 and do it in less than an hour if you have the tools. This is a car with less than 20k miles, she was told and quoted that the in addition to the front brakes that the front tires were wearing unevenly and needed replacing along with an alignment. In addition, she was also told that the rear brakes needed replacing, all totaling $3000. They weren't even going to replace the rear rotors, they told me on the phone that they would sand them down... really? Summary of this experience. 1. They tried to take advantage of my wife because she is not familiar with cars 2. They lied about tires, I checked they were fine, no uneven wear 3. They lied about the alignment 4. They lied about the rear brakes 5. The only thing they didn't lie about was the front brakes, but that's what we went in for Some background, I have been turning wrenches since I was eight, I have worked in dealerships, and have been around cars my entire life (I do not have the facilities now to do the work myself), these guys represent the worst that auto service and sales industry have to offer. Granted they don't have as many customers as honda but the service there was excellent. I was greeted and proceeded to do the process for test driving. When it came down to some negotiations, they were very nice, not pushy and all and very very willing to work with you on your terms. Granted I didn't buy the car because the fiancée liked a different car, but I would buy one here if I were to buy one myself. I been to other dealers that didn't even bother to ask you for help even if no customers were around or weren't willing to work with you but they were great here. I just leased a Mazda CX 9 from them and the entire experience was amazing. I worked with Yasmine who was incredibly patient and helpful in the whole process. Went in wanting a CX 5 then decided to test drive a 9. Yasmine spent a ton of time with me, explaining the differences between the vehicles, getting me pricing, showing me options...could not have been better. She then walked me through the entire leasing process, came in on a day off to make sure everything would be ready when I picked my car up and then spent time with me showing me around the new car. I wish I had a story about the horrible wait I had to go through in order to receive my car, or maybe a story about the finance office and about how ridiculous it was but in all reality I didn't even get that far. Having 6 years experience in this industry I know the type of harassment a simple lead can generate. Wanting to avoid the phone calls and emails I decided to walk in. It's a small store and short staffed so when Elvis said I couldn't test drive I understood where he was coming from. When he couldn't provide numbers or availability because no sales managers were present it was a bit annoyed but again something I have experienced myself. But this wasn't a " he'll be back in a few minutes" no managers were staffed for that day so again putting myself in his shoes and having been there before I made an appointment for the following day. I come in the following day to hear that he either A) double booked himself or B) he took a walk-in client as his breakfast was still on his desk. Only for him to return to say "I wish you would of called" basically blowing me off because he had "deliveries all day". Kind of a slap in the face as the day prior test drives we're for appointments only. Ultimately yes it is his attitude and the way he handled the situation that lead to me walking out but there are tons of other issues with this store that caused him to have to treat customers this way. Missed opportunity on their part and I know this review won't matter much to whoever's reading it, but they will be alerted on their end and that's what these reviews are really about. Being open for a little over a year now you should have it together, there is no reason a salesmen who gets paid by selling cars can't get anything done because of coverage issues. If there are coverage issues then it shouldn't be someone who can't work the numbers by themselves. Avoid at all costs. Horrendous service coupled with gross incompetence. I allowed my Mazda to be brought to this dealer's service department for warranty work (Bay Ridge Mazda's Service and Parts is actually located in Brighton Beach) and the communication was utterly lacking. Worst of all, when I took an hour-long public transit commute to pick up my vehicle, the location was locked up during their advertised normal business hours! I called the Bay Ridge Mazda showroom and after Vince took 30 minutes to check "check with his GM" and "see what they could do", I was told I'd just have to come back some other time. No responsibility taken, no effort to remedy the situation, no apology whatsoever. I will stick with Koeppel Mazda in the future. read more

My vehicle got damaged by the shop on my last visit. They made a deep scratch of my vehicle. Afterward I bring my vehicle back to fix it. The body work was totally bad. The body shop just use the paint to cover the scratch, I still see the paint uneven and a long dripping line on the area where they made damage. They make a lot of white paint on my front plastic bumper. Look like they don't care about the customer, 1. at the time they damage my vehicle, they didn't notify me until I found out before I leave the dealership, 2. They promise will call back to schedule an appointment to fix my vehicle, but they never call me, 3. I can't believe the body shop will just use some paint to cover the scratch, if I know they fix it on this way, I will not bring my vehicle back to there to fix. 4. They leave a lot of white paint on my plastic bumper, when I ask them is it able to wash off, they told me those was dust. But I can tell you, those was 100% was paint. Now leave it on all around my front bumper (on the plastic part). Unbelievable, unacceptable, and unprofessional. I am so regret bring my vehicle at bay ridge Mazda. They don't care about their customer, they don't care to provide poor service. Now I still need to waste my time and money to fix my vehicle again. Thank you bay ridge Mazda to provide the unprofessional service for me. I wish I can rate them -100 stars. read more

We came back a couple days later and met with Emily again, had a few more questions that she answered for us and we purchased the car. David the finance manager is amazing and helpful and really worked with us. It was such a simple process, no pressure from anyone, no haggling. I walked out feeling like I got a great deal. If I could give this "Service dept " a zero star I would. First off the woman on the phone doesn't know about her department, she told me to come in on a Saturday before 2 pm for an oil change. Apparently she may have forgotten that the service dept is closed. Now a simple mistake of your days is ok but what's worse is when I got there and called back the representative on the phone was so rude to me, she had an attitude as if I should've known better to call on a Saturday. I'm just mad as I could've slept late in my only day off instead of dealing with incompetent employees. Finally, finding the entrance to the service department is like looking for a unicorn in Brooklyn! Get it together people. I had a Mercedes before this and they were on point I guess that's why u pay the big bucks, I'd rather professionalism over cheaper payments. My first and last experience with this dealership all in one visit. Had a fine experience taking a test drive and working up numbers with them. Left in order to discuss with wife and bring her back. In the interim, I called my insurance broker to get a quote and he told me to get the VIN number for the car. So I called back the salesperson and asked for it and she responded, "you left today without putting down a deposit or writing up a sales order but now you're calling for a VIN? How you do think that makes ME feel?". How it makes YOU FEEL? Who are YOU? Are YOU buying YOUR first car? You are the salesperson and I am the customer. I am the only person whose feelings count here. And all I wanted was a VIN number for the car I planned to buy from YOU. I was then transferred to 2 additional people in the dealership who were no nicer on the phone and was hung up on by the finance director. So, Bay Ridge Mazda and Yasmine Salama, not only have you lost a sale that was in the bag for you, you've made an enemy in me and earned yourselves a stellar 1 star rating here and everywhere else I can leave a review on you. Shame on you for treating a customer poorly an having seen the reviews of Yasmine and Bay Ridge Mazda, it's clear to me that I'm not the only one who feels this way. read more

First of all when you call bay Ridge Mazda and hit the option service good luck finding someone who can give you 10 seconds to speak. they will keep transferring you or put you on hold. After many attempts someone in the sales department actually was able to "help" me and scheduled an appointment to service my car. I mentioned to him that I want to replace my tires in addition to the service package and he said he will put that remark. When i went to to the service center on neptune Av, a guy with slight attitude processed the papers and said they will call me in 30 min. 50 min later they called and did confirm that other than the service my tires need to be replaced. I gave them ok after we went through the cost. 2 minutes later he tells me they don't have the tires and they need to order them and I have to come another day. making an appointment and showing up at a dealer service center, not just any mechanic and not being able to replace something that dealers should have is simply not acceptable. Now I have the option to either take another 1 day or half a day off and drive over an hour round trip, wait till my tires blow up or go to a reputable mechanic. I think I'm going to choose the latter. ..and they wouldn't even give a loaner car. I used to go to Koeppel mazda to service my car.. they are way more professional, zero attitude and never had issues. The only problem is being in Brooklyn, the drive and the traffic is what makes me think twice before going there. Mazda bayRidge, too bad your customer service and service center is subpar. Avoid unless you want to be treated like a "girl". I went in to exchange a car and sign up for a new lease. I made an appointment the week before. I knew what I wanted and I knew what a fair deal range was. I went in and I was asked if I wanted to come back when I could bring my husband with me instead. Then they offered a deal over the nationally advertised prices. They added in a whole bunch of fees to roll out any lease to lease incentives and acted as though I had no idea what they were doing. I offered a fair deal. They let me walk out. Then called me repeatedly over the weekend. The next day I walked into Koeppel Mazda. Offered the deal I had offered at Bayridge and walked out three hours later with a car. read more

Unfortunately had a terrible experience here. I can't say anything about the sales team but I would NOT recommend coming to this Mazda if you need your car serviced. I came for a recall service and made an appointment over the phone. I showed up 10 minutes early for the appointment and was greeted by a gentleman outside while in my car, he told me to leave the keys in the car and he will park it and that I should check in with Susie at the front to start the process of the recall servicing. I went to the front desk and no one was there (meanwhile I had my rambunctious 1 year old in tow). I waited for a few minutes and another man came over and I told him I was told to wait here for Susie and my car was being parked outside, he told me she was still at lunch and that I can wait in the waiting room in the back and he would send her over. Seeing as how I was a few minutes early I wasn't surprised that they weren't ready for me yet. After about 15 minutes of waiting no one had come and this Susie person still had not showed. There were lots of employees walking around and I was the only customer in the whole place but no one was offering any help. Finally a woman showed up, whom I later found out was the elusive Susie, and asked what I was doing. I told her that i have a service appointment and was told by two people to wait back here for Susie. She then started yelling at me and my kid that I shouldn't just be sitting back here and continued to yell that I shouldn't have listened to her co-workers and demanded to know who had my keys. It was extremely bizarre and she was visibly angry and was upsetting my kid. I repeated again i was told to leave the keys in the car and I was just following what other employees directed me to do. She then told me to go find Elaine. As a customer who does not actually work at the mazda, I told her I don't know who that is or where to find that person. She then pointed in a direction and stormed off. I went over to a different desk and asked the person standing there if she is in fact Elaine and was thankfully correct (this employee had also seen me walking around waiting but offered no help). I was told it would take about an hour and a half and they would call me when the car was done. I went and walked around for about 2 hours and when i still didn't get a call i decided to head back and check in. Of course, when I went back to the mazda my car was sitting there. I went up to the desk and said "I see my car is finished, you didn't call" and was told "they just brought it back a minute ago". While this could actually be the case, the demonstrated lack of communication among all the staff there tells me that my car had probably been sitting there while I was anxiously trying to find things to occupy my one year old with. It is astonishing how rude and dismissive everyone there was and actually scary to be confronted in such a vicious manner while just sitting in the waiting room. read more

Went in with the purpose of buying a Mazda and told the sales person-Yasminn-we were interested in buying and financing at the 0% rate offered. After agreeing to a very fair price a manager Elvis, said since we were getting Truecar pricing which he said included a $1000 rebate for cash buyers, that the price we had been quoted was not valid and it woulds be an additional $1000 . When I said that none of this is mentioned on the Truecar site we were told it's in the fine print. He then said "Were you really going to buy the car if you got it for the original price? I told him he was being disrespectful and that he was basically accusing me of coming into the dealership to waste time-he said lots of people have done that. With that my wife & I left the left showroom. I had left an important envelope on their desk and my wife went back in to retrieve it. Yasminn said sarcastically "thanks" you wasted my time for 4 hours-both she and Elvis need to treat all customers respectfully and Yasminn should learn that 90 minutes does not = 4 hours.
