    a person holding a sandwich

First of all, I don't even like sandwiches but this place makes the best sandwiches ever, breakfast ones too (served until ~11am). I love ham but Bay Street Deli really made me realize it because in fact, they have the best ham you'll ever have in your life -- it's light, fluffy, and so flavorful. Check out the pic (the dunes) and you'll see what I mean but you'll have to taste it too. You can modify it to your liking like I do most of the time with the dunes (but only cos I have a sweeter tooth): white instead of marble bread, provolone instead of Swiss, and honey mustard instead of mustard. You seriously never had a ham or sandwich like this before. I also love getting breakfast sandwiches here (on a roll). In the morning, when you walk in, you hear the fresh egg shells cracking in the background -- it's a familiar sound like when you're at home and mom or dad make you breakfast, it's a great feeling -- followed by the far away sound of one egg at a time hitting the hot surface straight out of its shell, you can hear it bubble up and freshly fry away, and eventually you finally get the wrapped up sandwich with a swirl of breakfast goodness in the air. I look forward to every season when they reopen. They also have hot/iced coffee, with flavor options. I love their chocolate chip cookies too, freshly baked every day. Outdoor seating is available for a quick bite. They're sweet people, it's a family-run business, and you can see their love of family in some wall decorations too. Now go get that sandwich!

    Delicious hot buttery lobster roll!

By far my favorite lobster roll in Rhode Island! Tons of buttery lobster inside a delicious homemade fresh roll! I'm horrified to read some of these crazy reviews about the poor bread quality because I've never had a bad experience! The bread is fresh and homemade! Absolutely delicious and pairs perfectly for a nice lobster roll. I've had their roast beef grinder on the same type of roll there before and it's honestly delicious! Their New England chowder is probably my favorite as well- tons of clams in every bite! They also serve homemade cookies and you can get them directly from the hot pan which is an awesome perk! I've read reviews about the service and yes some of the workers are miserable but they are efficient and hard workers! Watch hill can be very busy at times so I can totally understand not being 100% perky 24/7. If you love lobster rolls, grinders, chowder and homemade desserts definitely hit up Bay Street Deli!

This would be a better picture if it weren't off-season.

The staff is always friendly and willing to help. This day I got the block island on a wrap and when I opened it i had never seen a sandwich wrap look like this. The center was all wrap. When i removed all the wrap in the center it was a very flat thin piece of meat. Maybe this just wasn't their day but i was disappointed when i got back home and opened it up. I won't let this stop me from going there again but if it happens again I won't order a deli sandwich again. I give this place five stars but on this particular day just 4. Side note my mom also got a sandwich a turkey on white and it was so soggy she said it wasnt edible. We only traveled about 15 minutes with them back home.

Walking in still feels like stepping into a slice of neighborhood history, the kind of place where the walls could probably tell a few stories and every regular has a favorite order. And the grinders? Still absolute classics. Somehow they've managed to preserve that 100‑year flavor profile--hearty, perfectly layered, and packed with the kind of seasoning and balance that only comes from decades of doing it right. It's comfort food with character, the kind of grinder that reminds you why these small markets matter. The new ownership seems committed to honoring what made Reale's special while giving it just enough polish to keep things running smoothly. Service is friendly, quick, and familiar in that "we've known you forever" kind of way. Why not five stars? Mostly because transitions always come with a little room to grow--tightening up consistency during busy hours, maybe expanding a few offerings--but honestly they're well on their way. The heart of Reale's is still beating strong, and the grinders alone are worth the stop. A true local staple that's managed to keep its soul intact. Four stars and a big nod of appreciation for keeping the tradition alive. Cheers

Since Pasta was in the name, I figured it might be more of a market than a grinder shop and I decided to visit. It was actually more of a grinder shop that sold some fresh pasta and sauces and things that you would expect a grinder shop to have. I honestly thought about walking out without buying anything, but I kept thinking about that awesome looking Italian Trio (basically like an Italian Combo) grinder. I decided to order a small, take some pics and a couple of bites, and save the rest for later since I had lunch plans. This grinder was my ideal Italian Combo. First off, the small was huge. Full size at most places. I ate it over the course of two days. I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, cucumbers, provolone, Oil and Vinegar, Salt and Pepper, and Mayo. The three meats were pepperoni, Genoa salami and capicola. The bread was good, fresh and up to the job of holding the ingredients. There were about six slices of meats, but they folded them around the inside of the bun (cut on one side) so you were really getting about 12 layers in each bite. And the inside was stuffed with the veggies and other toppings. So stuffed that the toppings fell out as you were taking bites. But that was actually great from my perspective, because you could just pick up the fallen toppings and put them exactly where you were going to bite next. I've been to a lot of highly rated grinder shops in CT. I don't think I've had a better Italian combo. The ingredients were all great. It was a well constructed sandwich. You got bits and pieces of most of the stuff in each bite. Ingredients were in the right proportion. It was salty. Acidic. Juicy. Great contrasting textures. This was a text book Italian Combo Grinder. Now if you live near Mystic, getting a grinder from Pasta Fresca is a no brainer because you can take it home. If you're not from the Mystic area, there was a bit of seating. Seating may be hit or miss though. In any event, if you can figure out where you're going to eat the Italian Trio, you're going to love it. Can't believe I've never heard of this place. 5 Stars
