Stopped here after spending the morning at the beach. I ordered the muffuletta on a gluten free bagel. They asked if it was a preference or allergy which was great. The bagel was very good, but the olive mix was beyond salty as were the cold cuts. I ended up scraping off the olive mix. I brought half home and added mayo and tomato and it was great. My daughter order the Brie Bacon and fig spread grilled cheese. She said the flavor was excellent. Next time she would order with extra cheese. There are tables on the deck with umbrellas but we were looking to cool off and ate inside. It was not cool. If you are looking for fancy this is not the place but it hit the spot and is worth a second try. read more

I was so happy to finally get to the Misquamicut Sandwich Company after several years of missing it on my annual Long Island to Rhode Island bicycle trip! As a touring vegan bicyclist, it's not always easy to find good food out on the road. I heard about MSC a few years back and planned to stop there for lunch a couple of times, but my travels always took me slightly out of the way, to Watch Hill, instead. This year, I went to Watch Hill again, but made sure to double-back to Misquamicut JUST TO TRY THIS PLACE. I didn't think the Black Bean/Quinoa Burger was going to be anything special enough to give me the full flavor of MSC, and I almost didn't order it. Thanks to the server who convinced me to try it, it turned out to be the hands-down best meal of my entire five-day trip. Not only was this burger tastier than just about any veggie burger I've ever eaten, it was also about twice the size, and served up with generous portions of lettuce, tomato, pickles... Now I'm really sorry I live two states away because I would be one of MSC's most regular customers. The staff, including the main chef (who I assume is Carmine?) is super-friendly, and the outdoor patio is really cozy. Prices are also surprisingly sane, especially given the portion size and the touristy location of this shop. Although big changes are coming to the places I usually stay while in this area (making the affordability of continued annual trips a little iffy), I hope to be able to get back here again in the future. I've purchased from this place multiple times. I've tried to be optimistic but this is it. Initial 2 years ago orders were made exactly as requested by the customer (me). This summer orders majority of the time have not been correct. I do the pre order so I pre pay. Mistake. I wish I could have chosen to pay there (if even an option). The order ahead option was great and quick, only a 15 minute wait! I got the Turkey and Feta wrap and it was delicious. The perfect amount of turkey and feta combined with their delicious Giardiniera. I had never heard of this mix before but it is a finely diced mixture of herbs, olives, cauliflower, carrots and banana peppers, yum! For me This made the sandwich! They have an extensive sandwich menu and also have drinks and chips available to order ahead as well! MSC is in walking distance of the Pleasant View Inn. Since the Inn restaurant is currently not serving breakfast, this was a great option. I had the Happy Vegan breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel. Tempe bacon , roasted red peppers, humus and arugula. It was delicious! I'm not vegan but try to eat plant based when I can. Very busy on July 4th with pleasant and hardworking staff. The food was delicious and the time to wait for our order was exactly right. We took a walk to the beach and back while waiting for our lunch to be prepared. Bathroom was very clean. I wish they had more outdoor seating! Our lunches were delicious---I had the portobello mushroom Caesar wrap, spouse had a salad and friends had sandwiches. My chocolate chip cookie was a little dry. Been ordering sandwiches here for years but this summer has been terrible. We order online and have had entire sandwiches missing, wrong chips put in our bag, pickles missing from sandwiches, and cheese put on sandwiches that we have designated and typed in as no cheese due to allergy. When we've called to get a refund there is very little concern or apology. Hate to say it but this was much better ran before the new owners took over. Very disappointing. In terms of sandwich quality, I would say it is still the same as it's always been but order accuracy and consistency is an issue. Always check your bag before driving away. read more

I'm not sure why they don't have more than an average rating because Misquamicut Sandwich Co. is far from mediocre. The only thing keeping me from going all the way to 5 stars is the price point. MSC is definitely gourmet & you get what you pay for. On a recent trip I dropped $25 for a sandwich, salad (with chicken) & a Boylan's soda. My sandwich was phenomenal but I can't sustain dropping that kinda money on lunch that often. They are similar in mission to Ten Sandwiches & are close in price too. I guess the difference is in name: touristy Misquamicut vs Taylor Swift's Watch Hill? For the record I'm a huge Ten Sandwiches fan & don't mean that as a slight in any way. Enough about price: the sandwiches are pretty awesome. I order from them almost weekly & always get their grilled cheese special as you can see from the pictures I've posted. They aren't crazy creative but they are crazy delicious. As simple as a grilled cheese is you can still mess it up but I've been amazed every time. I always get my order to go but they have a seating area inside & out. There's salads & breakfast served all day too. I'm a big fan of the Boylan's sodas & Deep River chips they offer too. I've been waiting to try the Misquamicut Sandwich Company ever since the sign went up about a month ago. I live in neighborhood, and I think it's great that a local business opened up in the former Fra's location. Today, on my way home from getting some groceries, I went out of my way to see if they were up and running yet. I noticed a few cars in the parking lot, so I went inside. Apparently they just closed at 3:00 PM, but they were kind enough to stay open and take my order. I order The Italian, a sandwich which had salami, prosciutto, and cheese. I opted for lettuce, mayonnaise, and oil and vinegar. The sandwich tasted really good. The ingredients seemed really fresh. The other items on the menu looked great! I can't wait to try some of the hot sandwiches. I think this is a great location for a sandwich shop, and I look forward to coming here in the future. read more

I ordered an Italian and got a hefty roll with hardly any deli meat in it. The meat itself was decent quality, but for $9, and the fact that it was supposed to be an Italian grinder, I expected much more than I got. The sandwich literally had one slice of eat meat and one slice of cheese. (Other reviews have complained about this... Take the hint!!) I even had to ask to get oil and vinegar on it... I bought the Cuban sandwich on ciabatta. It was very good, but $8.95? They do seem a bit overpriced. The place is spotless, very tasty, a lot of pluses, but the price is a tad much for what you get. The breads are from New York, all drinks and sides are local. Ingredients are all local. The chef is top notch. The sandwiches are spins on classics; try them and you will fall in love!
