I've been going to Bay View Dental for about 5 years. I've always wanted to change offices, but today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I had to miss an appointment 2 weeks ago due to a work emergency and called the day before my appointment to cancel. I was charged a $100 dollar cancel fee because it was within 48 hours of my appointment. It was the first time I have had to cancel an appointment so close to the actual appointment. I was annoyed by the fee since I had been going there so long, but it was understandable. I was the one who cancelled. I had a cleaning appointment today (2 weeks later) so I was going to pay the fee when I arrived. When I arrived the receptionist told me all my appointments were canceled because of the fee. No phone call or text for the cancellation or the fee, nor anything stating I would have all my appointments cancelled until the fee was paid. I guess I'll have to charge them a $100 cancellation fee. Also, they have cancelled appointments the day of the appointment on me before. read more

I might try to establish care again but hitting an AI that 1) does not immediately identify itself (I had to ask) and 2) could not put me in touch with a human when asked makes for a bad first impression. read more

SO GENTLE! I have been going to the dentist for the past eight years. Dr. Kroll is extremely gentle. She is exceptionally kind and caring especially when you're not having such a good day or you're in pain. I would never ever go anywhere else. I just had a wisdom tooth and molar extracted early this morning and I'm writing a review four hours later feeling not that bad at all Because she was so gentle. Hygienist refused to do a cleaning covered under my insurance. Stated that I had to pay more for a special cleaning due to inflammation. Took X-rays prior to telling me this, and proceeded to bill me for the X-rays so that I cannot get them done else where due to only being covered for one X-ray per year. I have to start over at another dentist who will do the basic cleaning covered under my insurance and I will not be able to get my X-rays done there. Staff was invalidating and inconsiderate. 10/10 recommend. Went to establish care with a routine cleaning and to my hypercritical pleasure this place was the most professional and thorough cleaning I've had in 27 years. I showed up 5 mins before my appt and was greeted by a very receptive and pleasant front staff. My hygienist, kiara (sorry if I butchered her name spelling), was second to none in patient care and comfort, offering explanations of everything she was doing. I felt the dentist was equally involved and pleasant. I have never reviewed a dentist's office, but I am happy to have found a trustworthy practice. read more

I had my first appointment to establish Dr. Peters as my new dentist this past week. Historically I have been very apprehensive to going into the dentist due to past experiences I had gone through. My experience with Dr. Peters and Molly the hygienist were phenomenal they made me feel extremely comfortable and cared for me very gently. Today was supposed to be my second appointment at Bay View Dental. My last appointment went well; I liked the hygienist and dentist and they were both very nice. When leaving my first appointment, I made an appointment for my dental work. I could only do Fridays so we had to make it a few weeks away. She wrote down today's date and 9:30am on a card and gave it to me. I took that card home and wrote the date and time on my calendar. Come today, I show up for my appointment and they say I'm not on the schedule for today. I said that I had it on a card and I did and she checked again and said that I wasn't on the schedule and asked who scheduled me and I said it was the other desk, but she didn't go and talk to the person at the other desk or talk to anyone. She said they were fully booked today. I told her that I had to do it today because I lose my insurance in two weeks and I can only do Fridays. She says that a different dentist has an opening on Monday at 3:00. I tell her I can't and she offers no other solution. She didn't move from her chair, talk to anyone else, or attempt to keep me as a client. Now I need to both find new insurance and a new dentist, and get two cavities filled that are just going to get worse while I do all that. The dentist and the hygienist were great here, but if my appointments aren't being put into the system and I can't get squeezed in by the people at the front desk, then I can't go to this office. My husband Al had many crowns done by Dr Bruchs because my husbands teeth were bad. We were glad that he could save the teeth. But now several years later, my husband had one fall off because the cap wasn't put on correctly and the tooth rotted away. He went to a different dentist to have it check out. That tooth now has to be pulled and two more teeth that were capped have cavities under the caps. At $800 for each tooth, it was a total waste of time and $2400 because Dr Bruchs didn't put the caps on correctly. Don't let him do any caps. You will regret it. read more

My daughter and I went there we both had a cavity and had them fill it.... both of our mouths hurt for weeks after getting the work performed.. my daughters was so bad I took her back there.. they actually had the nerve to charge to fix their original work... I went in for an exam as I was due for one and recently moved to the area so I needed to get established with a new dentist. I also had a broken tooth that needed a root canal and crown. My first visit was unimpressive, but it's the dentist so my expectations are never really positive (i.e., I'm going to be left in pain and broke no matter what, so whatever). Overall the office was dirty and dingy, primarily the waiting room, and a lot of things (computers, etc.) weren't working. Staff weren't rude but they weren't friendly either. I waited about 15 minutes past my appointment time. I got in for my general exam and cleaning, and that was all fine and normal, though not a whole lot of communication from the dental assistant or hygienist. The actual dentist examined me for a whole 10 seconds at the end of my appointment. They came up with a plan for what needed to be done, but went through it quickly and didn't have anything in writing for me, nor any explanation on what my dental benefits would cover. I scheduled my next appointment for what I thought would be my root canal. When I went in for my second appointment, I learned that they had to submit for prior authorization for my root canal and crown so they would just be starting on some fillings that day. No biggie. However, I never actually got in to do that because after almost an hour of waiting and no legitimate explanation from the receptionist who couldn't care less, I decided to cancel my appointment for that day and just call back to reschedule when my root canal and crown were approved. By the time I got approval, it was a couple of weeks before the end of the year and I knew my dental insurance would be changing at the start of the new year so I never went back. I'm glad I didn't because I ended up finding an amazing new dentist at The Dentists South Shore (review to come). read more

I moved to Milwaukee about two years ago and needed a dentist that was close to our house. I got online and googled "dentist 53207" and Bay View Dental was the first option to come up. I called and made an appointment - when I went in I was greeted by an absolutely lovely woman at the front desk who I had a wonderful conversation about traveling with until I was called back. Once I got to the back, the dental assistant took some information from me and was SO awesome! She made me feel completely welcome and at ease. Then the dentist came in - I was not sure who I was seeing, but luckily I got Dr. Sara Klasinski - SHE IS THE BEST! I honestly could not have asked for a more knowledgable, calming, sweet doctor. Her personality was glowing and she walked me through every step that she was doing. I left completely satisfied with my appointment - they also have a great payment plan and insurance that you can sign up for! About a week later I got a card in the mail from Bay View Dental welcoming me to the neighborhood and to being a patient of theirs. I have now since moved back to Texas and just hope that I can find a dentist who is half the dentist Dr. Klasinski is! read more

I find the poor comments extremely hard to believe. I have been a patient with this clinic for several years. I had one unfortunate incident, however I spoke with the Office Manager and the situation was corrected and it was resolved very appropriately. The assistants at the clinic are for the most part are young ladies and tend to be be very reserved. Upon speaking with them they open up and are quite delightful. My insurance is not great, but it is better than nothing. The Clinic does what it can for me. I am elderly and live on a fixed income and the Clinic is very good to me. read more

I'm generally pleased with the service and the quality of care. I had a scheduling issue that resulted in having to wait 5 months for an "asap" kind of procedure, and the details of that are below. I ended up waiting it out because I didn't want to have to schedule another initial exam elsewhere. After all the waiting, everything turned out great. The staff is kind and professional. If you're not in a hurry and/or have no expectations of your insurance changing, this may be the place for you. I went in for a checkup. They told me I needed a deep cleaning, and that I would have to schedule another two appointments for that. They said the earliest I could get back in was two and a half months after my initial appointment. I called them a few weeks before my next appointment to pay my bill from the first and ask them if there would be any issues with my upcoming procedure due to my insurance changing in the new year. They informed me that my new insurance was covered, but failed to inform me that I would need to provide them with information at that time to conduct a pre-authorization for my procedure. Then, less than 24 hours before the appointment, they called to tell me they couldn't find my insurance information, and it's at this time they explained about pre-authorization and other clerical needs that don't really apply to me beyond having insurance, which I did. The relevant fact of this was that it would postpone my procedure by another month. I got off the phone to locate my information, and when I called back to reschedule a few hours later, that 1 month extension had inexplicably become 3 additional months of waiting. Half a year is an unacceptable amount of time to wait for a routine procedure. In addition to all that, they only rescheduled 1 of the 2 appointments I needed for the procedure, so I had to call back again, at which time I got an earlier date! It left me with questions: if I could have gotten that date in the first place, why was I initially pushed back an extra week? Why did two full months of scheduling evaporate in the hour or so it took me to track down my insurance info? Surely two full months of scheduling didn't get filled in an hour's time. It seems disorganized at best, dishonest at worst. read more

I came to this place by referral of a friend. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The dentist do not do a good job with fillings. I had many in between fillings done, and they left a large gap in between the 2 teeth along with the teeth being rough. anytime i eat i get tons of food stuck in my teeth. A few of my fillings are jagged and rough. You can clearly see where the filling is just by looking at the tooth. All my fillings were done with the tooth colored filling, not silver. I had to come in 3 times to have the same filling redone because it wasn't on properly and fell out twice. After having wasted my time going there 3 times for one filling, i had a follow up because the tooth was still bothering me, and they had the nerve to charge me for that!! One of the fillings i had done, the dentist left a 1" cut on my face that has turned in to a noticeable scar. He also left a 1" gauze under my tongue that i almost choked on when i was home. I didnt know it was there since i was numb. When i complained the office manager said "sorry, that happens" and did nothing about it. read more

Had a really poor experience. I took my elderly mother here as a new patient, to see about getting her new dentures. Doctor was horribly unfriendly, didn't even say hello to us when he walked in and mumbled his name. His assistant looked miserable. Dr was rude and condescending to my mom, and everything he speculated about her current dentures ended up to be wrong. Yes, they are an affordable place, but I refused to take her back there. We went somewhere else and what a difference.. actually friendly people who appreciate our business! read more

My son WAS a patient here I cant believe how unprofessional the staff was. First my son has cavities and it took two months for them to even fix the first one then I thought we would come back every few weeks to have the rest fixed. NOPE he had to wait another two months to get in again and in that time his tooth cracked from the decay. I was asked HOW that could happen and when I replied that its been taking forever to even get them fixed they looked at me like I was crazy. They wanted to pull it but I refused and they fixed the ONE tooth that the appointment was originally for 3 teeth to get fixed. On top of that the tooth wasn't even fixed correctly and there is still decay showing it was done very sloppy. Also my son was saying it hurt the whole time and the Dentist told him to be quiet. Really? Do something about the pain!!! I would NEVER recommend this place ever not even to my worse enemy. read more

I am recommending this dental office to everybody (adults and children)! My family (husband and 2 sons) and I have been patients here for four years. Dr. Krol's expertise and skills are unbelievable ( and I know what I am talking about because I am one of the many people who are scared of a dentist). As a a family we went through every possible dental procedure in this office: fillings, extractions, cosmetic dentistry and teeth cleaning. I am especially very happy with Dr. Krol's work on my bridge, which in my view is one of many proofs of Dr. Krol's and her partners' 21st century skills in cosmetic dentistry. I love to smile now!!! The other members of Dr. Krol's dental team who I have met at the front desk, Ann, Judy, and Kate, are friendly and professional. Erica and Jessie, the dental assistants, have always made me comfortable and answered all my questions. The office manager, Angie, was very helpful when I needed her expertise in explaining the payments. My review is based on my visit to the downtown Sarasota office in June 2015, but my experience is eerily similar to the two other unfavorable reviews listed on Yelp. I was on time for my appointment but was kept waiting for 2.5 hours before getting in to see the dentist. My gut reaction was to leave at that time, but after apologies from the dentist I decided to give her another chance. I have had consistent dental care for over 40 straight years so I know what to expect from a reputable dental establishment. This establishment, in my opinion, is a "mill" operated to churn as much revenue as possible rather than to meet legitimate patient dental needs. I only decided to try them because my current dentist is too far away from my current home. Anyway, after the dentist told me she could not read the xrays sent by my former dentist and needed to do a complete new set along with an oral evaluation before she could clean my teeth, I reluctantly agreed ($220 charge). I then set an appointment for actual cleaning but decided to call the day before the appointment to confirm what a cleaning charge would be ($324). That was enough to confirm my initial impression that this was not a dental office that I wanted to do business with. I cancelled my appointment and have found another dentist. read more
