I had the opportunity to visit on Sunday, September 14th. Garden City Center's historic gazebo green transforms into a vibrant, open-air Farmers Market. The Farmers Market is every Sunday from May 18 through September 28 from 10 AM to 2 PM. I wandered and checked out the local vendors. There were a great variety of them. I purchased a really cute coaster from The Book Emporium RI. The Book Emporium RI sells books that are wrapped and you have a blind date with a book. I also purchased a lavender sachet from 15 Lavender Place. I spoke with the owner and she told me all of the lavender is lovingly home-grown and hand-harvested, ensuring the highest quality and care go into every product. There were soothing lavender eye pillows, relaxing neck wraps, sprays, and bundles of dried lavender. I also went to Fully Rooted to purchase two bottles of freshly pressed juices-Watermelon Slice and Golden Greens. There were also local food trucks, farm booths, and local makers. The Garden City Center Farmers Market is a market for everyone. Either if you just want to stop for coffee, get produce for the week, flowers, dog treats, see alpacas, and so much more.

One of my favorite haunts to shop is Williams Sonoma and still one of my places to shop! I have seen this place mobbed with shoppers and I have seen this place struggle at certain times but in all it has been a big draw for shoppers with plenty of parking! The massive food court has always interested me to sit and grab food while I take a rest to shop again! What really peaked my interest in the Mall was in 2024 while home I watched a documentary called SECRET MALL APARTMENT on Cable which was a true to life story of 8 Rhode Island Artists who actually built a 750 square foot Apartment hidden in the hidden spaces of the Mall! In 2003 and supposedly lived undetected and unnoticed by anyone for about 4 years! It was fascinating to see in the movie the amount of furniture and items they got past security or anyone ! To think I was there shopping and had no idea this was happening under my nose while in the mall! So, since the discovery of said Apartment This Mall has been something of a surprise and I will continue to enjoy my shopping experience here always! I hope that all the stores get lots of foot traffic to continue being a staple to the Mall!

If you are looking for some tasty bites to eat, to catch up on the latest fashion, or simply find a great read, the businesses on Wayland Avenue can satisfy whatever you are craving. We have been many times to eat, shop and relax...the area is in a residential setting, so for those who live nearby, it's like a block or two away walk to get a French croissant, grab the latest bestseller novel or get a funky lamp from a home decor store. It reminds me of Old Town Pasadena, but on a much smaller scale. I really like it. We went in the West Elm store and my in-laws bought some things for their home. We also went in a cute ladies boutique on the corner. My sister-in-law has purchased some things there. Great area to dine and shop.

The fitness club also left the shopping mall, so it's mostly small businesses right now. BankRI and Bottles are going to be the main tenants unless someone large moves in. Lots of parking and convenient to anyone living on the East Side or near Wayland Square.

The property is anchored by a Stop & Shop Supermarket and junior anchors include Marshalls, Savers, Dollar Tree and NAPA Auto Parts. Over 88,000 people live within a 3-mile radius making this a busy shopping center. I have shopped at Marshall's, Dollar Tree, Rainbow and Stop and Shop many times and the parking lot usually is very busy. The restaurant Davenport's is also located in the mall and they serve comfort food.

We were staying in a hotel across the street and needed to get some Providence souvenirs. I looked up gift shops/souvenir places and it told me to head to one of the stores in The Arcade. Walking in, you could tell this place was extremely beautiful once. The architecture is incredible and there is a lot of potential here. People comment that it's underutilized and they aren't wrong. Even though the place is bright and sunny and feels safe, there's also a feeling of abandonment and dereliction that I just couldn't shake. There aren't many stores to shop at or places to eat at. There's one restaurant that seems to be doing well, we saw people at the whole time we were in Providence, but that was it. Hopefully, soon, more life will be injected into this place because it is very beautiful and historical and has a lot of potential.

There's parking for about 390 cars, so it's a pretty large lot and on average more than 10,000 cars pass through this part of N Main St every day. Almost half a million people live within a 10 mile radius of this shopping center, so it does have a good potential customer base. The traffic in and out of the center can be chaotic as many people visit the various stores in here...still, with a little patience, it works...

It is very close to a Hampton Inn, many restaurants, Walmart, McDonald's, Stop n Shop gas and convenience store, etc. This last time I went I visited their West Marine store, but you can also find a Five Guys, Adam and Eve, Chow Time restaurant, nail salon and Orange Leaf fitness. The entrance to the shopping area is from Fall River Ave, but if you on Route 6, you can easily access by turning onto Fall River Ave. Plenty of parking.
