I was honestly nervous about staying at a motel, but this place changed my mind--it feels more like a hotel than a motel! The rooms were extremely clean, spacious, and comfortable, and the beds were amazing. The staff was wonderful and truly went above and beyond. We stayed for three nights, and every single day our beds were made and the garbage was taken out. The main office was always helpful, and they provide brochures to help you find things to do in the area, along with extra towels at check-in. The huge pool was a favorite for our kids--they absolutely loved it! The complimentary coffee for adults and hot chocolate for the kids was such a thoughtful touch. The price was very reasonable for everything they offer. I cannot recommend this place enough! If you're looking for a clean, family-friendly, comfortable place with amazing service, this is definitely somewhere I would recommend to others. We had a fantastic stay and made great memories here!

The reviews are all great and that is for a reason. The place is awesome. The location is awesome. The hosts are awesome and last but not least, the breakfast is awesome. The rooms have great views and the beds are very comfortable. It is super relaxing too. Luckily, the weather cooperated with sunny and temps in the 70s. We even saw a bear while taking a hike in Acadia. Check this place out and you won't regret it. That is IF you get a reservation. Everyone wants to go here! Hint: Book early as they are only open from May to October! We hope to go back next year. Jim/Margaret Clemmens Towson, Maryland.

We were informed once we got there that dogs were not allowed onto the hotel property and were not allowed to be left in the room. So we were stuck not being able to enjoy the beautiful view or lv the dog to go out to eat. I understand their reasoning for not disturbing other guests but I would not hv booked this hotel if I had known in advance. It was an expensive cottage that really cramped our vacation. Great breakfast.

As parents of…read moretwo young children, it was amazing to have it feel relaxing and fun for everyone--but The Bayview somehow managed to do exactly that. It wasn't just a vacation; it felt like we were genuinely cared for from the moment we arrived until the day we left. The attention to detail throughout the property is exceptional. Every member of the staff was warm, welcoming, and eager to make our stay special. We were constantly amazed by the thoughtful touches--from the personalized treats waiting for our kids, to the beautifully folded laundry returned in a charming basket (what a luxury for a mom on vacation!), to the nightly turndown service that made us feel completely pampered. Breakfast each morning was outstanding and we all loved the afternoon teatime! Chef Tricia and her team created delicious, beautifully prepared food. it was lovely to be able to pop in for breakfast or afternoon tea and treats each day. Our children loved the nightly s'mores around the fire pit, the playground, and wandering the shoreline trail to climb on the rocks by the water. Those simple moments became some of our favorite family memories. The complimentary shuttle into downtown Bar Harbor made everything incredibly convenient, and the hotel's location--just minutes from Acadia National Park--couldn't have been better. My daughter and I enjoyed taking the shuttle to the sister property for morning yoga. We enjoyed all the beauty and adventure of the area while always looking forward to returning "home" to The Bayview each evening. A very special thank you to Vinet at the front desk, the manager, Chef Tricia, and every member of the team. You each made us feel truly special. The level of hospitality you provide has really set the bar. Our week flew by. We left feeling refreshed, spoiled, and already talking about when we can come back. Thank you, The Bayview, for giving our family what was truly our best family vacation yet. We can't recommend this hotel highly enough!

This is their number one asset, and they treat it that way. The room highlights the view perfectly, and the grounds are impeccable. - The room was nice, clean, and everything in it just right. The room cleaning staff was excellent. - The extra touches were a delight: chocolate strawberries for our 34th anniversary with a note, the water bottles, turn-down service with little gifts. Little touches like that around every corner. - The breakfast (and food in general) exceeded our expectation. Whoever they have in the kitchen is doing a bang-up job. - The front desk staff was gracious, helpful, and prompt. The concierge helped us with reservations and itinerary. Top notch. - The shuttle was great. It made the hotel's distance from downtown a non-issue. - We had a minor issue with an overly-enthusiastic dog (remember this is a pet-friendly hotel btw), but the staff and management handled it quickly and professionally, again making it a non-issue.

David made us very welcome when we arrived and gave us the orientation talk on the island, giving us a couple of local newspapers and marking down worthwhile sights on the maps before showing us to our 'cottage'. I'd actually describe the cottage as more of a beach hut (we had one of the smaller ones), but it had everything in it and was only a few yards from the water's edge with great views over Salisbury Cove. There was a porch with chairs and table where you could sit and watch the sunset. Very pleasant. Inside, the cottage was scrupulously clean, there is a small kitchen area with stove and coffee maker etc. if you wanted to eat in. It could have done with an electric kettle to make tea with, although you could use the coffee maker to boil water I guess. There's a small heater in the wall that we used a few times as we had a couple of rainy days during our stay. Best of all was the shower - great water pressure and piping hot. A great start to the morning. Followed by a cup of complementary coffee from reception, we were all set to go and explore. So thanks to David and Jayne - we really enjoyed our few days here and would gladly return in future.
