The pool was wonderful as it was very hot this week, and there were plenty of chairs and a a couple umbrellas for shade. I loved that there was a little deck spot off the parking lots that had some Adirondack chairs and a picnic table and umbrellas so it had shade. I spent some time out here reading and it was very peaceful. Our room was spacious, enough space for four women, and the hot water was booming in the shower. Ample closet space and a full size mini fridge! Our only gripe is that the beds were harder than we like but overall it was affordable so that was fine. They have coin operated laundry and vending machines, we wished they had card option on it, but there was also free coffee, tea and a microwave.

You will be pleased. We have been to many different lodgings and I could not have been happier with our choice to stay here. This is a well run facility, nothing fancy and they do offer some welcoming amenities...swimming pool will close for the season this second weekend in Sept. and it is heated. Vending room where you can use their microwave, vending machine, a few tables and chairs to eat your take out meals and they provide a large pot of hot coffee in the morning. Hot water is available throughout the day to make tea or hot chocolate. It is a family run business which adds more of a warm personal touch...it begins from when you are greeted to when we departed. A late check in turned into a happy discussion about all things LL Bean, which was too funny. He provided helpful tips and the manner in how they respond to probably frequently asked questions was courteous and friendly. It is a convenient short drive to the entrance to Acadia NP. Local restaurants and the main town area is a short distance away. The buildings are neatly arranged and grounds kept clean and in an attractive wooded area. The main lodging structures are close to their guest laundry, heated pool. There is a playground area and the location was nice and quiet. The rooms are easily accessed with parking right outside the front door. Makes it easy to manage your belongings and loading and unloading your car. The rooms were sized well and were cleaned daily. This was so welcoming after coming back from a long day of hiking and exploring. The 2 Queen beds we had were very comfortable. There is a larger sized "mini-refrigerator". TV had good reception. WiFi easy to connect to. The water pressure was great. You can tell the owners make it a point to take care of their property and provide helpful and supportive service to their customers. I would gladly return to this facility for another visit.

They did give us a bag with a couple waters and a bag of chips because we are platinum members on the BW rewards program. Day 1 door was still not repaired. Day 2 maintenance was called while I waited and door was finally repaired. Asked about room cleaning and they said someone would stop in on the third day. Day 3 we were told the desk clerk on day 2 forgot to put us on the list so they were not able to clean our room. During our stay I had to go get toilet paper and paper/plastic cups from them. No cleaning person showed up to restock those items or to empty trash. One positive note was the coffee machine in the breakfast area was finally working this morning.

Who carries bills and quarters? Pool area is basic. Not enough coffee pouches in the room. Walls are thin, too. Bed is too soft. Only reason to stay here? It's not as expensive as hotels closer to Bar Harbor. Save your coins, book well in advance of high season, and stay at a nicer place.

What a beautiful way to celebrate our 29th wedding anniversary!…read more The Bayview Hotel provided us with a room overlooking Frenchman Bay. We enjoyed sunrise views 3/4 mornings. (The 4th one was from Cadillac Summit.) Our room was spacious with one of the most comfortable comforters I've felt. We had a keurig machine, microwave, and mini fridge in our room. Appreciated the heater in the bathroom. Loved being greeted by the geese family on property in the morning and afternoon just outside our balcony. Our balcony had a couple of chairs with a table. We noticed the room beside us had a couch and bar stools in their balcony. While our balcony had cobwebs in every ceiling corner (lots of spiders on the railing), we were still able to enjoy the majestic sunrise views. They serve a continental breakfast every morning at 0700. Mid-day they serve charcuterie, cookies, fruits with refreshing infused water, tea&coffee. By far this was the most serene accommodation we've had. Calm and peaceful. They provide Adirondack chairs overlooking the bay. Friendly staff~ Brad at the front desk was kind in printing our Cadillac Sunrise pass for us & greeted us every time we passed the front desk. The hotel is less than 8 minutes from the Waterfront and about 10 min to Acadia National park depending on which entrance you use. All in all would return and recommend.

Large rooms with a couch, multiple recliners, and stove to enjoy a fire. The views were beautiful! This place was clean with a lovely fully equipped kitchen and renovated bathrooms. The staff were super friendly. The owners loaned us pots to boil our lobster that were freshly caught by the locals. Enjoyed the sunset. Visited nearby Acadia NP. Still family owned, 1 of only 3 in the area. Our family has decided this is the best place we have ever stayed and we have traveled extensively.

David made us very welcome when we arrived and gave us the orientation talk on the island, giving us a couple of local newspapers and marking down worthwhile sights on the maps before showing us to our 'cottage'. I'd actually describe the cottage as more of a beach hut (we had one of the smaller ones), but it had everything in it and was only a few yards from the water's edge with great views over Salisbury Cove. There was a porch with chairs and table where you could sit and watch the sunset. Very pleasant. Inside, the cottage was scrupulously clean, there is a small kitchen area with stove and coffee maker etc. if you wanted to eat in. It could have done with an electric kettle to make tea with, although you could use the coffee maker to boil water I guess. There's a small heater in the wall that we used a few times as we had a couple of rainy days during our stay. Best of all was the shower - great water pressure and piping hot. A great start to the morning. Followed by a cup of complementary coffee from reception, we were all set to go and explore. So thanks to David and Jayne - we really enjoyed our few days here and would gladly return in future.
