This hotel was recommended to us by my dad who stays here. It was such a cute hotel. Our room was perfect! It was our first trip with our baby and we brought her pack n play and the room was still big enough to move around. They are smaller rooms but who needs a big room at the beach right in the middle of town? We usually stay further from town but now with a baby this hotel was perfect so we didn't have to load her in the car every time we could just walk into town. The owner was so sweet to give us extra water and towels for our daughter. When we arrived there was a little goody bag with candy. We would definitely stay here again. Oh and the voucher for free cinnamon roll was nice too! Although it did take us 30 min to get it past 730 when they were supposed to be ready they were still really good. read more

I am really sad to write this and I am not typically one to write negative reviews. We have stayed at Bayfront Inn multiple times because they are pet friendly and so close to everything. I made a reservation last month and when I asked for a confirmation email, the older gentleman told me my confirmation number was "777" and did not even ask for my email. I didn't think anything of it and hung up. A couple of weeks ago, we realized that we double booked ourselves and had to cancel our trip. I began trying to call last week to cancel and the phone would just ring. I tried different times of the day in hopes I could get an answer and nothing. I tried calling yesterday and planned to leave a message but it told me the voicemail box was full, so I sent an email. I finally was able to get an answer this morning and the older gentleman told me that I was going to be charged because you have to cancel five days before. I explained I have been trying to call since last week, could not leave a message, and even sent an email. He told me he was going to talk to the lady in charge and see what he could do, but then asked if I could just come tomorrow. I asked him for the number of the lady in charge and he said "No, I'll see what I can do. I'll try my best" and told me to call back at one. We hung up and I just thought I should call back and try and speak to the manager myself. He answered and when I asked to speak with her or get her number he told me "I told you I'll take care of it. It's cancelled. I'll pay for the charge out of my own pocket. Have a good day" very angrily and hung up on me. I called back and told him I did not appreciate being hung up on and wanted confirmation my room was being canceled, so I would like to speak to the woman in charge. He proceeded to tell me to calm down and relax. Mind you, I'm being very calm and respectful but he is getting himself very worked up. I'm really sad because we loved staying here and loved the woman who used to take reservations. Hopefully, the woman in charge will read this and I can get in contact with someone. In the meantime, it looks like we'll be having to find somewhere else to stay when we visit. read more

We were looking for a dog-friendly motel close to the shoreline for a 3-night stay. Bayfront Inn turned out to be a good choice! Friendly staff. Room was small but comfortable and clean. (Loved the pillows!) Cute decor outside. Breakfast in the galley 7:30-10:30. Also given a coupon for free cinnamon rolls from the case next door for every morning. Coupon for a 5-piece fish and chips from Giovanni's across the street. Our dog was gifted an awesome swag bag. Parking was convenient. Quiet at night. Location was perfect. Easy walk to the main drag. (Most shops and eateries close early though) Central for our day trips to places north and south. We needed a weekend getaway, and my wife booked this room. She spoke directly to the proprietors about which room had the best view, and we stayed in room 14. The view was tremendous! (See pics.) They have 16 rooms, two people each. Pets are ok in some of the rooms with an extra fee. We had a king size bed which took up most of the room. Flat screen TV, Keurig in room. Two power strips for charging; we did not see a USB port, so bring plugs. No chest of drawers; the nightstands have one drawer each and there's a small cubby in the bathroom for storage. The half-closet shares space with the refrigerator. This is not a place to stay for a month with all your gear, but it was perfect for our weekend away. No air conditioning. Ceiling fan, and another box fan if you need it. Heater was fine. Bathroom features updated vanity, stand-up shower. Misc toiletries include soap, shampoo, lotion. Hair drier in room. Like most MB motels, stairs are the norm, no elevator. On arrival, we got a bottle of Chardonnay, waters, munchies including chips & candy. The people were extraordinarily nice; we felt they really wanted us to enjoy our stay. Outside, there's a balcony strip on the upstairs rooms for the view, and three separate seating areas on the ground floor. They offer a continental breakfast; it's nothing special: bread for toasting, Jimmy Dean sandwiches, stuff for cereal, and bowl of fruit. We enjoyed Frank&Lola's restaurant next store, (you get a coupon for free cinnamon rolls there with your booking.) There was also a delicious bakery nearby. This hotel surpassed all of my expectations! We only stayed here one night but it was extremely memorable. The hotel is literally across the bay and at night, you can hear the boats and sea life. This allowed for a very peaceful and relaxing stay. Also, I admire the fact that everyone is so respectful and that quiet time is from 10pm-8am. What I love most about this place is the fact that they're extremely dog friendly. The staff welcomed my two dogs in a very special way and they loved their blankets, toys, and treats. My time here was truly a once in a life time experience. I had forgot my phone in my room (#15) and left to go home. I realized it about 20-30 minutes later. It was pouring rain outside, so we didn't leave our room. I know for a fact my phone was in the room as I was on it right before leaving, I had left it on the bed this is what I also told them. I'll keep this shortish, so they said it wasn't there. I called Apple and tracked my phone and it was indeed there, and someone had TURNED MY PHONE OFF. I had been calling and Calling the hero of the day (name will he kept anonymous) had been searching all over for it insisting that all staff would turn it in to the lost in found. Finally, after I verified my phone (with apples lost/stolen customer support). My phone was now officially STOLEN on this premises I called letting them know I am filing a police report. I then get a call back and my phone miraculously appeared! There was a extremely unprofessional and unwelcoming woman at the front checking guests, I think her name is Jayne. She TURNED OFF MY PHONE AND HID IT IN A FILING CABINET. If this is not the most malicious F'd up thing I cannot wrap my head around it, it really is unreal. How I know it was hidden was because I was told this over the phone by the person who called to tell me they had it. WEIRDER is the fact that my friend had called my phone (Did I mention this was also my BUSINESS LINE?!) My friend called my phone, and a hispanic man was ANSWERING MY PHONE!!! Why in the world would you think that, that is ok to do? I am shocked. This is theft and the only reason I received my phone back was because I threatened a police report. To top this off I had left my experience as a review on Expedia and she responded saying that I was "hiding behind being anonymous" and making it all up....so here I am! The room was very small, mostly bed. Walls are very thin and you can hear everything. Unfortunately we shared a wall with the lovers next store who had screaming sex all night. Susan, will have to learn to scream into the pillow next time and to respect her neighbors. The first bad taste was when I arrived, I had paid for a pet room. There was no where in the booking process other than paying for a pet room where it said "I'm bringing a pet". When I went to check in the woman at the front (Big haired older lady) told me I didn't say I had a pet. Well why would I pay for a pet room? She said as of Jan 1, 2020 there will be an additional charge if you don't "let them know". I told her that there was no options to note about my pet other than paying for the pet room, it was off putting and felt like she was scolding me, I feel like its common sense though. Why would I pay for a pet room when there were other rooms available? Also why would I go out of my way to call when I booked through a 3rd party (Expedia). One of the selling points on this room was 1)pet friendly 2) Continental breakfast included 3)Great view. The Continental breakfast was not at all a breakfast. In fact, I wouldn't consider it even able to be served to the guests here. They had 3 boxes of dry cereal with no milk, just water and a small thing of OJ. The fruit (except for the bananas) was AT LEAST a month old, wilted and not good, definitely not the "fresh fruit" advertised. The view is fantastic, can't argue that. We stayed in room 15 and I'd say 15-10 and below probably have the best views in the house. Besides the front desk lady who was initially there, there is no guest services or anyone to call say you had a lover next store screaming all night, or were not given any coffee in your room. The complementary coffee in the room is composed of 1 tea and 2 decafs, I'm a coffee drinker, I need all the caffeine I can ingest. So for $240 for under 24 hours I feel like I majorly overpaid for a less than acceptable standard stay, motel 6 a couple miles away is honestly just as nice, less expensive, better breakfast, and more accommodating. I also recommend the Estero but they are not pet friendly. To end on a positive note, I really liked the view from the room, it was fantastic. They also give a gift card to the cafe next store that gets you a complementary Cinnamon roll, that is so yummy. Frankie and Lora's cafe was really good, definitely a saving grace. Service was excellent, reasonably priced, and great food. Go early because it gets busy! Moving on with my life. Would never come back here, and I will warn anyone going to the area yo steer clear of this rotten clam. read more

I have to say this hotel is not what you would expect. The pictures online really do not do this place justice. The views are absolutely incredible, and you are just feet away from the water. They are extremely dog friendly here, and I mean very friendly. The owner here does a great job making you feel welcome and at home. There is a little goodie bag waiting for your dog when you come in with treats, a blanket, and even poop bags. That extra step is small but truly does make a difference. You stay at this place to truly get away and feel at peace. My wife and 2 dogs have been staying here for 2 years now and will continue to stay here. I don't understand the reviews of bad service or ownership because every time we have talked with them, they are the nicest people and care about your stay, not the money! Great for dog lovers and the family too. The rooms aren't your typical size they may feel smaller to some, but we haven't had a problem. Check out Frankie and Lola's Cafe right next to the inn. You get a free cinnamon roll, and they are HUGE! I wish I got a picture but I couldn't wait. A huge plus is you are within walking distance of all the restaurants, Harbor hut, and Great American Fish Company to name a few. I really wanted to love this hotel but unfortunately I just can't give it 5 stars. Check in is 3pm, after driving about 5 hours straight we were dying to get out of the car and stretch out on a comfy bed with a nice beer but unfortunately this didn't happen. We arrived at about 3:20 pm on a Saturday. The gentleman at the front desk told us our room still wasn't ready, he tried to explain to me that it was cleaned but not checked...not sure what this means. So I asked him how much longer he thought till we could get in the room, he said to check back in 20 minutes. This was the last thing we wanted to hear! So we decided to go walk around for a little bit and try not to let it ruin our vacation. We came back about 4:20pm, waaay past check in time. The door to our room was now closed so we assumed it was "checked" but the office was now locked and the gentleman with our room keys was no where to be found. About 15 minutes later we found him in another room, and FINALLY got the keys to our room. The room is anything but impressive! It's literally a 10 by 10 room with plain white walls and filthy carpet. The sheets were a dark green color which makes me nervous they are trying to hide stained sheets. The carpet was absolutely horrendous!!! The hotel is dog friendly which is great but you better be steam cleaning carpets after those muddy dog paws check out! If the price of this hotel was $100 or less a night, I probably would have given it 5 stars but for $260 a night, I want to be able to check into my room at check in time and I want to be able to take my shoes off in my room. This hotel needs some major upgrades if they want to continue to sell rooms at this price. We will not be back. Wow!! I cannot believes the amount of lies from this owner!! This is not how you run a business. You apologize to your guest and ask how you could have improved their stay, not attack them and accuse them of lying! There is absolutely no way you steam clean the carpets after each guest, and no we were not waiting for the carpets to dry to check in. However, we stopped by the front desk to see about availability and the man (older gentleman with a pony tail, I believe) did not even acknowledge us as he stared at the computer. No welcome, no eye contact. When he was finished I asked about a room and he said he had two "that put us in the vicinity of $200". I asked if he could match their price listed on hotels.com of $132. Very cute little inn! My fiancé and I needed a little getaway and we stayed here this weekend. They are extremely dog friendly which is a huge plus in my book! Our boy even got a nice gift bag when we arrived! Yes, the rooms are small but you aren't spending much time in your room while at the the beach! The bed was comfy, the view was amazing, staff was very friendly, and the outdoor seating spaces are so neat! The only downfall was the water pressure in the shower. As you can see, a garden hose has more water coming out of it! All in all, a great little place, with an awesome location and at a great price. I would definitely stay here again! read more

My spouse and I come to Morro Bay a few times a year and have never found that perfect spot to stay until we tried the Bayfront Inn. Let's talk about location it sits right on the water with the Morro Rock right in front. Beautiful views and cute patios to enjoy sunsets and coffee. The beach bungalow itself is simple and clean, perfect size for two. The rooms are dated but honestly that didn't bother us they were clean and that was most important. The staff were friendly and attentive and although they don't do breakfast at the motel they give a coupon for complementary cinnamon rolls From Frankie and Lola's directly next door. The cinnamon rolls were so delicious. The bungalow feels very cozy and nostalgic. We also loved the location in reference to shops, bars and restaurants, right in the hub of it all. This is our go-to favorite inn when we come to Moro Bay. We have stayed there 3 times now and will continue to always stay here. My #1 reason for staying here is that they are dog friendly!! They always put a cute gift gift bag in the bed for our 2 dogs that contain 2 blankets, 2 toys, treats, and poop bags!! 2nd, the staff is super friendly, always remembers us, and always accommodating! 3rd, you can't beat the location. It's walking distances to the Embarcadero, all the restaurants, and the rock. During COVID, when we've been cooped up at home and needed a change of scenery, we've felt 100% safe staying here. The rooms are extra cleaned and sanitized! We've stay in a few different rooms, they are all great, but room 20 is our favorite so far. It has a perfect view of the rock and harbor. My wife, baby, dog and I had the pleasure of staying at the Bayfront Inn. Our only regret was not staying longer. The view of Morro rock from the room was only trumped by the extra TLC provided by its proprietor. The owner was also very informative about where to eat and what to do while we were in town. Dockside Too is the bomb FYI. Few places go out of their way to make the canine guests feel as welcome as their human counterparts. The doggy welcome back and outdoor seating areas are perfect, especially in these scary pandemic times. We can't wait to return! read more

I definitely am a big fan of this motel. I stumbled upon a deal on living social which includes 2 weekend nights plus I can bring my own pet! I've just visited Morro Bay this past weekend and it was one of those amazing getaway, Bayfront Inn deserves the most credit. I actually didn't research about Morro Bay about a week before my visit. The main reason the deal attracted me is because the motel is pet friendly, and I want to bring my dog for a weekend getaway. We arrived at the Inn on Friday around 4pm. The staff knows the visitors by name, they immediately know which 2 rooms I reserved by my first name. They carefully went over all the goodies (there are a lot of goodies!) We were eager to check out the rooms and we were already very content. They went over and beyond for being "pet-friendly". The staff put a pet-goodie bag on the bed. Inside, there is a blanket, a toy, 2 treats, a few poop bags which you can get more at front desk. It doesn't end there, they put 2 bowls in the bathroom (water and food), also dog food (organic rice) in the refrigerator. The other hotel/motel doesn't have any of these bonuses! There are many goodies for us too 1) 2 coupon for the full fish and chip meal at Giovanni, and I am glad we went because it's better than Tognazzini. I will write a review for those 2 restaurants 2) 2 wine tasting coupon at morro bay wine celler 3) 2 fresh baked cinnamon bun every morning and Frankie and Lola, also one of the best brunch place we've been to, I will write a review on that too. 4) massage coupon, etc Inside the room: 5) 2 bottles of water and juice on the house, 6) some chips, candy and snacks on the nightstand 7) pretty intensive line up of TV channels, but i recommend you spend the day outside to enjoy the view! The patio in this motel is amazing, they line up chairs facing the morro rock, we sat there to watch the sun set, after I made a cup of coffee from the in-room keurig machine More about the inn: The inn is situated at the corner of beach street and embacadero, It's very close to the morro rock, took us about 30 minutes to reach the rock by walking. It's located at the less noisy/crowded side of embcadero, where all the other inns and restaurants are. However, we found out Frankie and Lola is very famous in morro bay and we are glad that we stayed right next to it! There is free wifi, but again, go outside! Each room is actually different, compare to the other motels, they don't categorize their room by only bed size. You can view all the room pictures and descriptions from their website. The following review is base on room #4 because that's the one I stayed in. 1) It's located downstairs, it goes give a glimpse of the morro rock from the window. The window also faces the front entrance and the courtyard. It could get a little bit noisy when people go to the galley for breakfast, or entering the gate during after-hour. 2) The room is pet-friendly, the rug seems to be newly put in. They also used pet-friendly cleaner in this room 3) Since it is downstairs, you might hear more noise such as walking from upstairs, flushing toilets. 4) If you have a noisy neighbor in room 5, you will hear that. Luck for us they were quiet during the motel's quiet hour. 5) The room is located right next to the galley, where they serve breakfast, drinks, microwave, and a wall of local tourist brochures. That also means it's very convenient for us! Overall we enjoyed the stay at Bayfront Inn very much, it was a nice relaxing weekend which we glad to spend at Morro Bay. We have stayed here a couple of times and each time has been awesome! We really appreciate the managers watchful eye in keeping the noise down or keeping strangers out from the property. They really appreciate their guest and want them to be relaxed. This place is quiet and peaceful, just the way we like it. I agree with the owners that this place is not well suited for families with children. Even though they allow pets we have never heard any dogs barking, again the managers watchfulness keeps this place tranquil. The rooms are on the smaller side and very clean. Cozy. We have been impressed how clean our rooms have been on our visits. Beds are super comfy! We usually book the queen bed room. Rooms are equipped with small Kuerig coffee makers, with a few k cups. Some small snacks and candies. Bathrooms are small but clean and have free shampoo and soap amenities. Towels are decent. The TV and channel selection was good. We had a 36" tv mounted on the wall on our last visit, the first tv was small but no biggie. And best of all its right across from great restaurants and a short walk to the beach. Overall very nice quiet place at a decent price. They do have a yelp check in discount! And they will email you their current specials regularly. read more

HANDS DOWN THE WORSE experience I've ever had. I reserved my hotel on Hotels.com and showed up the next day with me, my gf, and my 3 year of son. I walk in and instantly started to get a attitude from the old white lady in the front saying my 3 year old son wasn't welcome and can't stay (MY 3 YEAR OLD SON) and she said to come back the following day and the owner will refund our money. We politely leave and return the next day where now an Indian man was working the front desk who WAS CLEARLY THE OWNER but was saying he wasn't and he couldn't give us a refund and gave me and my gf A RANDOM number to call and said that, that's the owner. We finally called the number after exchanging words for approximately 20 minutes with this man, a lady answered and said she has no clue who or what we are talking about... Clearly he gave us a false number and was just trying to get us to leave, we were the approached by locals telling my gf and I to just call the local police department Bec this man has done with before, when the police officer arrived the man's attitude changed a whole 360' and he FINALLY GAVE US A REFUND and admitted he was the owner. He's a thief and A disgrace to the human mankind. A THIEF! A pitiful human being to deny access to a 3 year old boy then lie and try to steal my money. I tried to decide whether to do 3 or 4 stars. I decided with 4 because overall this was a nice place to stay. The good: friendly staff, complimentary snacks and water in the room, complimentary breakfast, cinnamon roll voucher for the restaurant nextdoor, which was delicious, hotel is right next to the water and close to many shops and restaurants. The bad: very small room, not the most comfortable bed, staying downstairs you hear so much noise from people walking upstairs. For a short night or two stay this place is perfect. ***Update***Jayne, the front desk manager likes to call her customers "vicious" when we were charged over $700 and messing up our vacation plans? You believe that you and your hotel don't make any mistakes whatsoever. That's wrong. You're staff and hotel needs a lot of work. Especially on customer service. And Jayne, the manager can reply back on Yelp, but not on Expedia? I see where her priorities are and not once did we get any apology from Jayne. Be a decent human being and own up to your own faults. 0/5 stars. The day before we arrived to our hotel, I called to see if we could modify our hotel room to be upstairs. David, the front desk clerk said no. That was fine because I know it's a small motel. But he then also told me that he tad tried running my debit card for the "authorization" of $50 but I was confused because I went through Expedia's book now pay at hotel option. Luckily it was payday and I told David to run my card again when I call him back. I called David back and told him that he could use my card for the authorization or he could just charge the entire amount for the room. The next day when I checked into my room, David charged me $326.52. I then got a notification from my bank that I had been over-drafted in my account. I was puzzled because I know that it was impossible. Turns out that David charged me $286.42 yesterday as well. David admitted that he was in the wrong and was trying to figure everything out. But at the same time, he was being unprofessional like cursing underneath his breath and making disgusted looks while on the phone with his superior. I was on the phone with my bank for quite sometime before getting a temporary credit in my account. David then asked for us to go get settled in our room while he figures out the refund claim and he'll keep in touch. After calling the bank and getting settled in our tiny & hot room, I went back to the front desk and asked where our free dog gift bag was and he said that he was unaware of our dog staying with us and it was a $40 additional cleaning fee. David then used my debit card for the THIRD time. My partner then ran into David outside and gave us a complimentary wine & fish n chips from Giovanni's down the street. All because of David's mistake, our trip to Morro Bay was ruined because of the additional charges to my card and my account was fluctuating all over the place and was afraid to use my card anywhere I went. During my stay, Jayne the hotel manager responded to my real-time feedback on our stay at the hotel. I put that we were overcharged, unexpected fees and other issues regarding our stay. She replied back saying that I still owe the hotel $40. She had the nerve to say that I still owe after all the inconvenience. A bottle of wine and free fish n chips is not going to cover up for the mistakes this hotel did. During checking out, the front desk clerk just asked for the keys and sat back in her chair and said goodbye. She didn't mention anything about $40 balance. A few hours later when I arrived home, the hotel charged my debit card (fourth time) the remaining balance that I "owe". Let's just say I went off on Jayne on the expedia website... read more

Absolutely enjoyed our stay at the Bayfront Inn. I was already expecting the smaller rooms (as advised from a travel site), but what we were really excited for was to be able to bring our dog on a weekend away. We booked 2 pet friendly rooms - one for my parents, the other for my sister and I. Morro Bay is such a great pet-friendly place to visit. Everyone in and around the Inn was so friendly and very helpful. Our room came with brochures for dog parks to visit, bowls for water and food and a little baggie of treats. Coupons for cinnamon buns at Frankie and Lola's should not be missed. SO GOOD! Bayfront Inn also is also a great location for easy access to the restaurants, shops and Morro Rock. We went out for walks every morning on the Embarcadero. Seeing Morro Rock in the pristine and clear sky was breathtaking. We were here during graduation weekend (Cal Poly SLO), so there was a lot people in and out of the Inn. If you're on the first floor, you can definitely hear everyone walking above you and coming through the front area. Don't say you weren't warned. But we were always so tired from the days' events, that we always went back to sleep right away. Overall - a wonderful experience. Overall this hotel is fantastic. We have been in California for two weeks now and this is easy without exaggeration the best hotel we have been to during our trip. Firstly, those who work here have a relaxed personality which I like. They are pet-friendly so if you have a pet who wants to enjoy a holiday here is perfect. We had no animals with us but since I have a dog at home in Sweden, I think the concept is super cozy. The hotel is located right next to the harbor so you can see down to the water that is on the other side of the road. It is close to restaurants, shops and attractions / adventures. The room was very clean! This was seriously the first time in two weeks I can go to bed without worrying about bedbugs. The furnitures looked modern and a bit European, made me feel at home. The size of the room was good and there was a good bathroom with nice shower. There was also a fridge, coffee machine, TV, etc. Good with parking which was free and a continental breakfast is also included in the price. We even got free water and juice that was in the fridge in the room. We got free tickets to the wine tasting some blocks away. Free freshly baked cinnamon buns from the bakery next door, free ice cream at another location nearby. You could also take the local bus for free if you showed up hotel key on the bus. I will definitely return to this hotel when I visit California next time and recommend everyone to stay here at least one night. The town is cozy and magical! The prices on the rooms are low and you get the feeling that those who own the place really care about their visitors and their hotel :) read more

Really great location... that's the key to this hotel. It's a very short walk to some great spots along the Embarcadero. Next door is a quaint diner, across the street is the Stax bar, and down the clock a dive bar. I'm so glad we picked here today. The patios are kinda cool, decorated in a cozy and fun way. This is also a pet friendly place, which scared me not having pets of my own and not wanting to smell anyone else's, but there was absolutely no sign or smell of a dog in the room at all, but even a random hair. I was very happy about this. On the downside, the walls are very thin, and I had to introduce myself to a neighbor at 4 AM, to which they were very understanding and turned off their TV and stopped opening and closing doors. The bed was also a little uncomfortable, but the pillows were amazing. I'd say this isn't a place to come and get a great nights sleep, but if you value location over the possible noisy neighbor, this is an excellent place. read more

I am giving this place 3 stars. My wife and I frequently travel and we love to live comfortable away from home. We typically are not complainers especially if you read my previous reviews through yelp. Lets start with the positives: They are pet friendly. They had a little gift sack for our little cat which was super cool. Secondly, the bed was really comfortable with more than enough pillows. Thirdly, the seals barking and the wild life chatting throughout the night and morning was very relaxing and zen-like. Now for the negatives: I suppose I wouldn't be disappointed if we were charged maaaaybe 150.00 per night, but we were not. We were charged 300.00 per night for a very dated cubical. The showers did not look santitary, therefore, my wife and I bathed with a wash cloth in the bathroom sink located 2 ft from our bed which was also odd. The floors felt dirty when walking on with our bare feet and none of the outdoor amenities around the place were what they looked like in the photos. So do not let the photos fool you (very photo shopped) We have stayed in hotels in California w/ocean views for a few bucks more than this (literally). I hope folks do not read this review as a negative thing, but more as a positive read. I am a business owner and when I charge the prices I charge, I have to deliver the quality they expect. Again, I would be giving this place a different review had I been charged half the price because my expectations wouldn't have been so high, but that is not the case. My wife and I booked a room through Travelocity at this inn due to the fact that on the travel website it stated that pets stay free. However, upon checking in at the front desk they said this was not their policy, so they pinned a $27 charge on our room and basically told us tough. The room itself was clean but very tiny, and the walls were so thin you could hear everything (and I do mean everything). It does allow pets, and I did find the gift bag nice, but for the exorbitant price of being near the waterfront I would recommend a more affordable alternative. read more

What a wonderful little Inn! I was traveling with my dog and could not have found a more dog friendly hotel. They even had a goodie bag waiting in the room for McKenzy. The location is fantastic, close to many good restaurants and walking distant to the rock. Liked that the room had a small refrig and coffee maker with Peet's coffee pods. The owner and manager couldn't have been more friendly. I will absolutely book a room here again! read more

Our first time staying here. Great location, but funky place. Tiny room. The TV kept going on and off. We called the front desk. She arrived right away, jiggled a wire and said, if it happens again, just jiggle the wire. At 8:45 a.m. the next morning, a man with a key to our room tried to get in. Luckily, we had used the latch. We said, what's happening?? He closed the door. He never knocked, didn't identify himself, never apologized. It felt creepy. I told the front desk. She said, oh, he comes every Monday to clear the drain in the bathroom sink. Seems like he'd check, first, to find out which rooms were occupied, don't ya think? Won't be going back. read more

Coastal charmer! Super Pet Friendly! 5 stars for your pet! Upon check in your pet gets a welcome bag of super goodies and they set up water and food bowls in the room. Major points on that! We stayed here for the first time for New Years. Staff is very friendly and made us feel welcome. Even remember your pets name! Free parking is a plus. Free Wifi, that works awesome! Rooms are very clean and pretty up to date. I felt comfy and safe. Hotel is quiet, even though we were there on New Years Eve you wouldn't have even known. They have an amazing view of Morro rock and the bay! Situated perfect for walking anywhere, which we did. They have really cute patios to sit and relax. Another cute addition, you get fresh baked cinnamon rolls every day of your stay from the cute little cafe next door. They were delicious. I would recommend to stay here and will definitely be going back again. Docked 1 Star for: There isn't really a designated pet potty area, you kind of just figure it out. The rooms are small, especially the bathroom/shower. Our room #19, didn't have an ocean view. The wording on room description seemed deceptive, it said patio ocean view, basically it was a view of the patio and power plant stacks, no ocean. So just bummed on no ocean view. Perfect Place to stay if you want to be close to the Main Street. About 3 min walk to get to the Main Street. Room is small, but comfortable. They provide coffee and free candy. The room was very clean and had a super cute commons patio area. The only downside to this place is that the walls are paper thin, so if your neighbors are up all night, you will be too. read more

This place is really a bargain for the price- amazing and friendly staff clean rooms and amazing location with perks- dog bag full of treats and toys at check-in ( my boy loved them!) and complimentary breakfast and snacks! The few (and somewhat expected downsides) no AC, so keeping the window open at might was a must (the hotel does have a gate so you only feel a little exposed). The walls a also a little thin- we could hear snoring from both next door and above us- but we eventually fell asleep anyways. Overall it was a great experience and if you manage to wake up early enough walk the 100 ft or so to the water to find a whole family of otters dozing in the harbor. read more

Bed was reasonably comfortable... that's the only reason for 1 star. My daughter and I were in a car accident (hit a deer) late last night and had no choice but to get a room for the night since we were 2+ hours from home. We're fine, but my car is mangled... had to get it towed, etc (C & D Towing... Excellent!!!). Everywhere close to the accident in Paso Robles was booked so we called a booking agent (Expedia) and she found us this place. The only other options were a sketchy place for $30 or a resort/spa for almost $700... well, this was somewhere in the middle at $480 (gulp!) so we took it cuz we were stuck. The agent didn't tell me this was a 2.5 star dive. I was horrified to say the least. For starters, the office was locked up cuz we arrived late... called the number on the door and clearly woke up the manager... and she let me know it!! WOW, WAS SHE RUDE!! Acted like I was the biggest inconvenience... I don't think I've ever been treated like that at a hotel. She apologized in the morning, but that doesn't change the way she made me feel on an evening that was already extremely upsetting. The property smells like dog pee when the wind blows, super tiny room, cold linoleum floors, teeny tiny bathroom, thin walls... I could go on but I'm sure you get the point. I was horribly price gouged especially since we didn't get there until after midnight ‍ Definitely not worth what I paid... Complimentary cinnamon roll was yummy, though So, I'd give it one and a half stars, I guess. read more

We were so lucky to find this motel in Morro Bay, right across from the harbor with a great view of Morro Rock. We treated ourselves to 2 nights and the folks at the front desk were always cheerful and helpful. We also met some of their wonderful dogs! Our room was cozy, but clean and also had a hot tub. In addition to the great view, the room was quiet except for the seals in the harbor who seemed to bark all night - part of the local charm. It also came with free snacks and bottled water, a fridge and a coffee maker. A continental breakfast is included and we were also given coupons for free cinnamon rolls at the restaurant next door. All excellent! The owner clearly loves her motel. Each room door had a different decorative tile and our room had original artwork. There's a colorful outdoor seating area and a bevy of rubber ducks.
