I was originally planning on only having half and sharing the other half with my kids but literally, it was love at first bite and I ended up scarfing the entire thing down. The lemon flavor came through nicely without being overpowering. Lots of other different flavors to try on my next visit. They also offer mini bites as well.

I also thought the color palette of yellow and blue was interesting, not what I picture when I think of that fruit. Gluten free chocolate salted caramel: This was probably my favorite because it was chocolatey and that helped balance it out so it didn't taste as overwhelmingly sweet. Vegan cookies and cream: This was pretty good, I liked it and didn't miss the dairy. Strawberry: The frosting tasted like actual fruit, which was really great. A little sweeter than I like, overall. Chocolate: This one was just so-so. Overall they were pretty good cupcakes, I do appreciate that they offer options that are gluten free and vegan to accommodate dietary needs.

They also have a small parking lot exclusively for customers which I just found out after my umpteenth visit. LOL! I purchased the Crème Brûlée cupcake for a friend who reviewed the crème brûlée topping as "not too sweet" and noted that the sugar still had a bit of crisp to it. The frosting on the Lemon Blackberry cupcake is sooooo delicious, but I was disappointed but the innards due to an absence of any blackberry filling. And then when I got to the BOTTOM of the cupcake, I found a flattened blackberry in the center. I suppose they get an A for effort on that one... As for the Key Lime Pie and Vanilla Salted Caramel cupcakes, I've had them multiple times before and they're so tasty. They're really good at what they do here. Unfortunately, if you don't get there early, you won't get to grab any of the limited/exclusive flavors they sometimes have; I missed out on the latest Banana Pudding cupcake and it still keeps me up at night... Ultimately, I don't have the heart to rate any less than 5 stars. Their cupcakes are so delicious, soft, and moist every time. One of my dessert pet peeves is dry cake--I can't stand a dry or underdressed cake. Cupcakin' makes sure I don't have to suffer. Even when they're sold out of my favorites, I'm leaving with something!

I walked in as soon as they opened, and secured my favorite flavors, and a new one. First, the Dubai Chocolate cupcake is prepared perfectly. The pistachio cream inside of a rich chocolate cupcake, with a combination of pistachio and chocolate on top with candied pistachios to finish it off. Every bite is heavenly! I also tried the Lemon Blackberry cupcake, which is a flavor of the month. I love new and exciting flavors, this one was pretty good. I would've preferred a lemon blueberry (which I would love to see on the menu regularly) but this was good nonetheless. Another favorite is the Chocolate Salted Caramel cupcake. The salted caramel is well pronounced and compliments the light, airy chocolate cupcake. I highly recommend what I believe is the "BEST CUPCAKES IN AMERICA"!!

They're in a location that used to be a Subway. I've only have their cookies, I'm a sucker for good cookies. I particularly recommend their Peanut Butter Miso (a flavor I don't think you can get at a lot of places, sweet savory), and Ginger Molasses. I've also been supporting them because they're part of the Rewards Network Dining. I subscribe to the program to get Alaska/Atmos points on qualified dining, and I'm trying to get as many points as I can, so dining with restaurants as part of that program is helpful. You can order full cakes as well as they have slices avaialble for purchase. I got a tiramisu slice for my mom, which she said she liked. Good addiiton to the neighorhood.

Their primary focus appears to be on their special order cakes-which look amazing. The woman at the counter was friendly and helpful. After asking a few questions, I decided on the Passion Coco cake($5) and the Brown Sugar Pecan scone ($3.50). I enjoyed the Passion Coco cake slice. The coconut, passion fruit, and strawberry flavors worked well together, although the passion fruit flavor was very subtle. The sponge was cake moist, and the butter cream was spot on with its melt-in-your-mouth creamy texture. The Brown Sugar Pecan scone was good, but it had more of a dense muffin texture than a traditional scone, and the flavors were a bit muted. They did not skimp on the pecans though, which was nice. I would have enjoyed bolder flavors and a more traditional scone texture. Overall, I found that the walk in options are limited, but a great spot for locals to stop in and pick up tasty baked goods-and I would definitely order one of their beautiful and delicious looking cakes for a special occasion.

The cute little signs taking you on a field trip are not to be missed. The hand calligraphied menu lists are in the same style, and invite you into a whimsy-laced, multilayer experience. It's an industrial kitchen, a real 5 star bakery that clearly bakes for the other best restaurants and destinations in the world, which, of course are here in Berkeley and Oakland. Today they have some jazz playing inside, as I sit at the smaller of two tables, across from the bench. The people watching is mostly for the half dozen bakers that are smiling back from the open air space. One of the bakers washes her hands to come up and take your order. And the food... I ordered a buckwheat cocoa, a tea they have here. Too hot, haven't tried it, but there is a zero chance I'll be able to pair it with my tomato, gruyere, and corn danish. Zero chance because I'm eating it way too fast. The savory herbs, the two kinds of sesame, the pine nuts, the blistered, juicy tomatoes, the sweet corn, the savory, heavenly flavors. I've had tarts with... well, some of these flavors, but mixing it with this perfect crispy lamination is truly otherworldly. I can't wait to return for something sweet next time. After all, cakes seem to be their bread and butter!
