Dr. Ahmed is amazing and thorough! I've been very happy to be under her care. Unfortunately due to long wait times for labs I'll be canceling my plan with BSW as soon as possible. Bloodwork was quick but womens well visit results now at 13 business days is ridiculous. There's either severe understaffing or something else is going on. Lost 3 stars cuz no one was at the front desk and no one came to the front after 2 new clients came in. The lady ahead of us walked around the desk and asked someone for help who sent the front desk lady to help us. Lost 2 stars cuz the front desk lady was like a blank wall who referred to my mom, her customer and patient, as "this lady" wants to get some labs done. Gained 2 stars when the Dr told the front desk lady to take care of my mom today no questions asked. Message to S&W, this front desk staffer does not come close to being the level of quality we expect from S&W. read more

Terrible staff, no knowledge to block an appointment. After I had my appointment and reaching out to the hospital they said they are not able to find in the system. No courtesy to call and remind you on any of the appointments. They do not really care about patient's time and health. I would prefer to stay away especially with this clinic's front desk. read more

I have been a patient OF THE Hutto BAYLOR SCOTT AND WHITE clinic SINCE 2004. FIRST LET ME SAY WHEN THE DOCTOR, DR. Parihk is in office evberything seems to run smoothly. Think Dr. Parihk is one of the best doctor's I have had and I have had many. But when she is not in the office it seems like everything falls about. her support staff seem incapable to get anything right. Their messages on my chart tend to leave out vital information. they say they submitted referrals only to find out they haven't I have been experiencing severe back pain for months. Just getting the run around they instruct you to contact an office for urgent care but provide no number. per their instructions I made an appointment with DOC after they Hutto BSW stated they submitted a referral. only to find out the referral was never sent after contacting them several times they finally sent a referral to DOC BUT referral was Never APPROVED by Humanna so I had to cancel my appointment and reschedule for a later time. to endure my pain longer. please head my warning if you need immediate medical attention stay far away from the Hutto BSW clinic at least until Dr. Parihk returns. I this point I rather entrust my medical needs with my local vet. Hutto BSW you have to do better will be seeking another medical provider ASAP read more

The doctor/nurse is guessing on what symptom you told them. She assume my symptom based on my assumption and she gave me the medicine that I don't need. Beside that they double billed you. I paid at the visit and they still billed me that medical bill. read more

Decent enough care. Dr Pena was nice. I was there for the flu. They do have a sign next to the check in window that tells you, you may be billed for TWO bills. One for hospital because they consider themselves an outpatient hospital facility and one from the practitioner, and that was WITH my IN NETWORK insurance. I paid my $25 copay and am hoping I don't get another Bill later. It says you can be billed ranges from $11 - $192, depending on the average charges billed for routine services for a hospital department. All I'm saying is know what you are walking into. There is nothing on their site nor sign that tells you they consider themselves a hospital department, only the posted sign to the left of check-in and a billing phone number they will give you for later. read more

I saw Dr. Kim for a few months before I decided to see another docter. She was not very kind, nor attentive. On one occassion I broke my big toe badly. On the 1st appt she said it was jammed. One the 2nd, she finally agreed to send me for xrays and have me a special shoe that was 3 sizes too big for my foot. I was pissed that it cost me 2 copays before I could get an xray. With any other insurance or docter they have always sent me to xray to see if there was a break. Needless to say, her terrible service landed me a much longer healing period. It was a nightmare to get pain pills. I was told you can only get pain pills if you have surgery? What? Yes, that is real when it come to S&W I now see Dr. Mahale, and I don't think I am that impressed with her either. I saw her last month and within 2 seconds of me describing my symptoms she gave me a diagnosis. No meds, nor information of how long pain will last, or to follow up with my specialist. Turns out she was 100% wrong. Went to my female docter and I by no means had the issue she diagnosed. So why did I pay $30? The front staff is so rude. Mostly you won't get checked in for 15 minutes because they are on personal phone calls talking about their new car and how big the trunk is. I literally waited 15 minutes to check in so this woman could finish her personal call. They must get paid nothing, because I have never seen such rude, unprofessional women running a desk in my life. The nurses are the only staff I like. They are probably working over time to cover the docters asses. At least they ask questions about your illness, and try to get an answer. I only gave this location a chance because it was so close to our home. I will move on. The level of service isn't worth the $30 you spend. You will likely have to return, or go see another docter and spend at least double. read more

I am beyond words here. They billed my insurance but messed up the insurer I'D do it came back denied. It took over a year to resolve. I called at least 15 times and even came in 4 times with my insurance card. At first they were apologetic but after the third time they billed it incorrectly they then treated me like it was my fault. I would not have cared but the bill was over a thousand dollars. Abysmal. Took my college aged son on a Friday afternoon with an upper-respiratory infection that was almost certainly pneumonia. Dr. Mahale clearly does not know that age male, as she allowed him to repeatedly tell her, 'it's cool', therefore making me look like a helicopter mom. I knew how sick he was and she did, too. Here was where she got us: the lab was closed, so no X-Rays or bloodwork until Monday, unless we wanted to go to an urgent care or ER....um....we try to use doctor's offices and not the ER, duh. She clearly stated to "call or email her first thing if he was not much improved" over JUST the antibiotic she placed him on over the weekend..poor kid HASN'T slept, as he has coughed and gagged all night/all weekend...so, I call today to make sure the tests are ordered and ordered STAT, as he is at university and can't miss school unless absolutely required...oh, and did I mention he has a life-threatening pre-existing condition? Yep. A CBC STAT is necessary (his blood will clot and invalidate the test in under 11 minutes) and beyond overdue, especially how taxed his body is.....I hated this place so much I am wondering if the hospital is any better or just go to St. David's. We are new and S&W was closer. The doctor also informed my child that the med he has taken about four times a year, since he was eight or so for his infrequent, but violent migraines, was addictive and tried to put him on a preventative. She didn't quite grasp that we have tried them all....he has had them for 14 years, she didn't invent the wheel. He clammed up after that, as he was convinced she was judging him for his illnesses. Sad. She is worthless. Oh, and our room was hot as fire............ Here is some advice: if you have a parent/child combo of any age come in, and the child has dealt with life-threatening/life-altering medical conditions most of their life...they will assume you are going to understand that they are mad they are there, scared that this will require another hospitalization and be rather uncommunicative, in general, LISTEN TO THE MOTHER THAT HAS WALKED EVERY STEP WITH HER CHALLENGED CHILD. How dare she shrug off my legitimate concerns and the medical advice of the TOP children's hospital in the USA (Texas Children's in Houston) and think she knows better than the experts and specialists? Unacceptable. Oh, the older receptionist was slow as Christmas and had what can only be described as a blank look to her.....the whole place was a joke. read more

I have never liked going to a doctor , but Dr. Pena and his staff have put my fears to rest and have been really awesome to me. They are always upbeat and friendly. They answer all my questions and quickly help me arrange appointments to other doctors I need to see. Dr. Pena is easy to talk to and he always listens to me even if I just need to talk to relieve stress in my life. He is patient and kind and understands me. Originally my husband went in with kidney stones (that he has had before) Dr. Pena refused to give him medication (FlowMax is non-narcotic) as he didn't think there was anything wrong with his kidneys. When it was apparent that we were not being taken seriously, we decided to leave... My husband passed the kidney stones on his own without medications which is a VERY painful process. A few weeks later, our daughter had developed strep like symptoms. In an effort to avoid getting an ER bill, we made a same day apt with ... DR PENA. We waited for over an hour for Dr. Pena to walk in NOT give her a strep test and prescribe antibiotics. By far, this has been the MOST awful experience I have ever had with a Dr or clinic. EVERYONE NEEDS TO READ THIS REVIEW! Dr. Diana Cook is my primary care doctor on my insurance, and I have maybe seen her 3-4 times in the last 2 1/2 years and I only usually go to her if it's nothing too serious and the other times I had seen her she was helpful and again it was only for minor medical issues! Well it just so happened that I made the mistake by setting up an appointment with her on this past Wednesday, January 24th 2018 and came in extremely ill! I had explained my symptoms that I was having that started the Thursday night January 18th 2018, I mentioned that I had a lot of mucus in my chest and I had thrown up that night and it was just mucus and told her that was the only time I had thrown up. And I explained to her and the nurse that after that my symptoms got worse and worse every day, I had explained that I had a lot of pain in my chest and upper back and also a lot of pain in my throat from coughing and I had explained that when I would cough no mucus would come up, and it was all stuck in my chest, which caused shortness of breath and wheezing and that I had absolutely no energy and felt like a limp rag. So the nurse swabbed me for strep and because that came back negative, Dr. Diana Cook pretty much took a guess and said I had the flu and based that off of because I had thrown up once, and I told her that doesn't make since so she looked at my throat which was extremely swollen and very irritated and red, then used her scope to listen to my lungs, mind you I had 3 layers of shirts on, one being a hoodie she never lifted up my clothes to listen in the front or the back and then told me and my mom that my lungs were clear, and still said it was the flu, I kept on telling her that I need a certain cough syrup that would help break up the mucus and help with all the pain I was having in my chest and upper back but she wouldn't listen to me all she did was give me a steroid shot to help the swelling in my throat and called in a syrup that was specifically for allergies... never called in an antibiotic or anything so I went ahead and tried the syrup and it did nothing, I was still getting worse and couldn't even speak loud because I was in so much pain. So I called my regular doctors office that I see once a month (Dr. John Bangston) and told his nurse everything that was going on and of course it made no sense to her either so she set me up and appointment with him Thursday morning January 25th 2018 so I could get a second opinion and yet the proper diagnosis! Mind you later on that same day I had called Scott and White hutto clinic and spoke to a nurse and explained my concerns about the diagnosis and about no receiving the right medications and it took 3 1/2 hours for Dr. Cooks PNA to call me back and again she would not listen to me, she was just trying to call in all these different medications that had nothing to do with what was going on with me so I told her I'm getting a second opinion because I was tired of them not listening.... So Thursday Morning I went and saw Dr. Bangston for my 2nd opinion because he's the only dr that has never missed diagnosed me with anything!! And as soon as I told him all of my symptoms and he automatically said that's not the flu and did full check up on me and when he went to listen to my lungs he asked me to lift up my shirts (like a dr who knows what they are doing) and after listening in the front and back he said my lungs were far from clear and diagnosed me with bronchitis and finally put me on the right medications to help treat it. I am EXTREMELY FURIOUS with Dr. Diana cook because if I would've listened to her and never gotten a second opinion then I would've quickly ended up in the hospital with pneumonia!!!! This is exactly why Doctors should NEVER just take a guess, do their job right and should actually take you seriously and listen to you but she didn't! So I will never be going back and seeing her! That mistake she made in just guessing could have put me in a life threatening situation with pneumonia! So be careful who you guys choose to listen to and always make sure you find a Doctor who actually cares and doesn't guess! read more

dr. pena is a competent, personable general practioner. he listens to, looks at, and assesses patient's needs comprehensively. he refers the patient to specialists as needed and reviews any information obtained from these other sources. his office staff is courteous, cooperative, and skilled. we highly recommend dr. pena as a family practitioner! read more

Today was my first visit to the Hutto location. They were able to get me in first thing this morning for a sick appointment which is great! The nurse was very friendly, and helpful. I was seen by Dr. Pena who is really personable, and professional. I felt that they were very thorough, and don't just rush you in and out. Refreshing to say the least! read more

I figured I would stop by when I had cold/flu symptoms. I paid my copay and was told to take otc medicine to clear everything up. A few months later, I received a bill from Scott and White for $60. Even though the outside sign says clinic, it is actually a hospital. www.sw.org also states that you can pay your bill at any S&W location. Correction - I drove to the Hutto location and was told I cannot pay my bill there. In the future, if I need to go to a clinic, I will drive to Round Rock and go to an actual clinic. read more
