What a huge disappointment. We recently traveled to PCB to check out a retirement community. I prepared a list of places to eat based upon yelp reviews over 4.0. Bayside cafe was rated a 4.5 and was also recommend by people where we were staying. The outdoor seating was along the river which seemed nice, but it turned out to be just non-stop flies. Plus we were given a cheap plastic cutlery bag - like you get at a food truck. But the food...... Just horrible. Mediocre eggs, weird sausage. Keto toast drowning in butter (makes no sense). Pancakes were good and the breakfast empanadas were different, but not great - like a mystery filling. Even the waitress wasn't sure what they actually are. Meanwhile, they don't post prices online but the prices are $3 higher for all items as compared to the 2025 menus pics in yelp. Between the higher prices, cheap useless cutlery and the mediocre food this is a big AVOID. read more

Cute brunch spot by the water. It was a little tricky to find with Google Maps. We went on a busy weekend. You put your name on a list and then they call you and get you seated. Food can take a while to come since everything is made fresh. Hubby thought the meat empanadas were ok, wish they could have had more stuffing. I liked my crab cake Benedict. All the baked goods are really good. We enjoyed the cookies and the Argentine style cake slice we brought back to enjoy later. On the water and Google Maps struggles to get you here. The surface streets under the bridge work out if you are diligent. Think old Florida fishing shack meets good food. We had the French Toast and a breakfast sandwich. Good coffee and nice servers. There is a long line some times so plan on that I guess. We went to Bayside Cafe for breakfast after reading afew reviews on PCB Facebook sites AND we were NOT disappointed!! Pam was our server and she was great. I took her suggestion and had French toast over pancakes w/my 2 +2+2-scrambled eggs-bacon & French toast. Watching the other orders coming out definitely want to go back & try the omelettes and crepes. I think there were about 10 tables inside and a lot of tables located outside where you can watch the boats on The Intracoastal Waterway,people putting in boats at Bay Landing and on other side under the79 Bay Bridge(??)is Boondocks. Walking Inside you get to look at all the yummy cakes ,cookies and smell all the delicious smells coming from the kitchen. We are already planning our next time to eat here. read more

Long waits (35 mins just to sit plus 1 hour after ordering for food) for cold food. Very disappointed. The food that we did receive was tasty but cold. I hate giving a bad review because the food LOOKED very good but we left before even trying it. I was excited to try this place based on good reviews so my boyfriend and I went last Sunday morning for breakfast. When we stepped inside, there were a few parties in front of us. We were not greeted or acknowledged by any staff and the 2 waitresses working walked right past us several times, appearing too busy for us and making us feel like we were just in their way. They were both saying very unprofessional things and complaining about how busy they were. Still, no one explained what we were supposed to do. Do we sit? Do we order food at the register then sit? The food is expensive and only OK, the Bay Cristo should be billed as a french toast sandwich for accuracy. The Meat Lovers empanada was by far the best thing we ate and it wasn't great. My wife thought it was exceptional. All the condiments are made in advance because my sour cream had the water on top. The cookies are exceptional especially the raspberry tart. The view would be beautiful except it overlooks a broken down dock and barge. There are plenty of ducks roaming the grounds so if you love animals like that or have small children they will be entertained. Avoid the coffee and lattes, the syrups are mostly sugar free (which we were unaware of when we ordered), look like they have been sitting awhile, and come from a discount store like Homegoods. It was extremely busy but it is also spring break in Panama City Beach. Not sure if this was just an off day or the typical service. I will definitely try again in the future and make a final decision then. read more

This was near impossible for Waze & Apple Maps to find for some reason & we almost gave up. So glad we didn't. (Try navigating to Boondocks Restaurant just across road from it.) Anyway, looks like a small shack with outdoor seating but there's a cozy inside dining area with 10-12 tables. We ended up here twice during vacay week. Day 1, I got Bananas Foster pancakes (huge w/ multiple dollops of fresh whipped cream). Wife got Monte Cristo sandwich. Both delicious & what appeared to be the only server was capably whirlwind-ing around the place keeping everyone tended. Only knock is they were out of hot black tea but wife said coffee was delicious. Day 2, I got the 2+2+2, under the allegedly "smaller plate" menu: 2 eggs, 2 bacon & 2 French toast. We had our dog with us so the outside seating was a plus and the beautiful weather was fantastic! My husband and I split an order of the Meat Lovers Omelet. It included a choice of home style potatoes, hash browns, taters tots, cheese grits + a bread (various toast options or a biscuit). We opted for the home style potatoes and the biscuit. It was a wonderful meal and our server was friendly and attentive. The two of us ate for $14.99 before I added the slice of birthday cake for around $8; it was money well spent! Absolutely the cutest little quaint spot to have breakfast and brunch. I truly enjoyed my food (big portions) and my partner did as well. Plenty of food and cooked well. The waitress was nice and friendly and assisted us well even though there was a wait, there were plenty of people to greet and she only had one other partner to help. We chose to sit outside because I mean hence the word "Bayside" which is exactly what you get, we were sat down at a table but found it to be a little to heavy on flying bugs for my likes, and partner swatting them, so we moved closer by a shop fan they had blowing and that did the trick for us. We did have tiny visitors ducks show up wanting some helpings I'm assuming but I thought it was funny seeing them as at this time we were eating our food & they were not shy either lol. .
