Woke up looking for a breakfast spot and stumbled upon this gem on Google literally across the street from our Airbnb. Walked in with somewhat of a line and then boom. The place was packed with a line out the door. This place is whipping up some fire pastries and baked goods. We had the bacon egg and cheese biscuits with fruit and with cheese grits. My wife and I killed our plates in a matter of minutes. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The coffees were very good. It's almost like a European cafe tucked in PCB. Sunrise Cafe and Bakery was ok. I don't see myself visiting again. Parking is limited on the back of the building with just a few spaces. The line was long and seating was full. There were a lot of people standing around waiting for their food and tables to open up. We ordered the loaded croissant, a waffle with syrup and a half order of biscuit and gravy. The croissant was good. A good size breakfast sandwich with a variety of meats. I think some kind of sauce would elevate this sandwich but it was fine overall. The biscuits and gravy were recommended due to the biscuit being made fresh in house. While the biscuit was good and soft, the gravy tasted like it came straight from a can. Lastly the waffle is very thick. Flavor wise it's ok, nothing out of the ordinary waffle. read more

Loved this little spot. The menu was jam packed with breakfast (brunch) staples. Everything looked so good. I'm not sure it would be possible to order "wrong" here. They have a designated parking lot behind the building so check there for parking. Once you're inside you grab a menu by the door and order at the counter. Love this place! By far one of the best breakfast spots in the area. Parking isn't the easiest to find--especially during the morning rush--but the moment you step inside, the smell of fresh-baked bread, sizzling sausage, and brewed coffee makes you forget all about it. I ordered the Loaded Hashbrown Burrito ($13.95), and it was exactly what I want in a hearty breakfast. Sausage, eggs, American cheese, bell peppers, onions, and perfectly crispy hashbrowns all rolled up in a warm flour tortilla. The tortilla was soft but held together well, and the hashbrowns added just the right amount of crunch. The side salsa had a nice kick without overpowering the flavors. We also split an order of Sausage Gravy & Biscuits--fluffy, buttery biscuits smothered in thick, peppery gravy loaded with sausage. The kind of stick-to-your-ribs comfort food that just makes you happy. For something sweet, we grabbed a Cinnamon Bun, and I'm so glad we did. It was soft, gooey in the center, and topped with a generous swirl of icing that melted slightly into the pastry--sweet without being cloying. When we walked in, there was a line, but it moved quickly. The staff behind the counter kept things flowing, all while greeting customers with genuine smiles. The real holdup came from indecisive folks trying to narrow down their order--understandable, because everything coming out of the kitchen looked amazing. Arrived about 1145 and they were wiped out. They were down to three donuts, and the wait staff was not very friendly. He decided to just have coffee, and that was actually very good. Would I go there again ??probably not, Was it a good value for the money? For a beach area café it was fine. I have to admit we didn't eat breakfast. At Sunrise .... However a lot of people were coming and going. Wewere just looking for coffee tea and a snack.... Recommendation if you want a breakfast roll be there between 6 and 8 AM before they're wiped out. read more

The smell of this place as soon as we walked in made it clear we were in the right place. The service was great and although they had signs about being patient, the wait time was incredibly reasonable for what was clearly freshly made food. My husband got the hash brown burrito and I got traditional Syrniki and Pierogies. Everything was incredible! Would return 10 more times in the week we're staying. A hidden gem- because it does not look like a bakery or cafe from outside, more of a bar for spring break. Parking can be a drag cause it is very limited, but on the other hand, there can be just that amount of people inside, which is a very good thing. Very laidback and unpretentious place, just as it should be when vacationing by the beach. The staff was very attentive and accommodating to our specific request, and throwed in ideas to add more good stuff to our food. I've had such good experiences here! The people working at the front are always very friendly and happy people, which makes me more inclined to come in-- they brighten my day! So far I've had the chai tea and green tea, along with many of the food and bakery items. The apricot pastry -- oh my gosh... it's so good! I also had the cream cheese ring and thought it was good, too. The muffins always look so enticing. Food is ready pretty quickly, and sometimes we get it to-go and eat it near the beach! Luckily seating has not been an issue in the cafe. I hope someday they expand their tea offerings -- matcha lattes, London fogs, etc. Especially when the college students come to town, I know that an iced matcha would be a huge hit! read more

Park in back and we noticed the parking lot was full - even in December! Hours are 11-3pm year round Clean, with attentive servers picking up our dishes as we finished. Even in December this place is hopping with young families and seniors stopping in. Specialty coffees and I got a sugar-free dulce latte. Yum! Breakfast biscuits and croissants are available along with two cases of donuts and pastries, including macaroons. We got the hash brown bowl with perfectly browned hash browns, melted cheese, scrambled egg and bacon. We paid and headed to our table and moments later we got our food. Other menu items include lunch sandwiches and paninis, gelatos and Blue Bell ice cream. One star deducted for cost. The specialty coffees were priced similarly with Starbucks. Our breakfast bowls were $8.95. Our total ticket for the two bowls, one latte, one regular coffee, and a filled donut was $28 plus tip. This felt like a neighborhood breakfast diner with people safely visiting one another from a distance. It was fun and we both said we will definitely return! read more

The food and service was great here! Hubby and I were in town celebrating our wedding anniversary. We decided on this place. It was within a good walking distance from our Airbnb. It was busy, and upon arriving they had a pretty good selection on their menu. I got the croissant breakfast sandwich and my hubby got the deluxe hash brown bowl. We both loved it. The food was hot and fresh. We also ordered the cookie butter latte. The first few sips were delicious but after a while, the cookie butter sweetness disappeared..a Overall, fair prices, great location, amazing taste, and good service! Would definitely come back! We tried this place for the first time for breakfast and were pleasantly surprised with their different options. We were seated right away and ordered the hash brown bowl with chai tea latte and a loaded hash brown burrito with chicken. The food arrived quickly and was pretty good. The ambiance is like a beach vibe. You can sit inside and outside. If you sit outside, you can enjoy the beach view as well. I really liked their hot chai latte. This is a nice place for breakfast and brunch. Their buffalo chicken wrap also looked good. Next time I will try some of their desserts. See photos of the place inside and our food. I've worked counter service before, so I know how much personality and service matter. Unfortunately, this place just didn't have it--felt kind of flat, like just another Tuesday. The food was decent, but I expected more, especially being on vacation with the spot right across from my condo and next to the beach. They also don't really check on you, which was a little disappointing. The upside though is that with counter service, at least you don't have to wait around for the check. read more

With thoughts of donuts filling our minds, a short walk from our condo lead to Sunrise, a cute fun cafe not far from the beach. Light & bright, with plenty of seating available, the breakfast menu boasts several types of sandwiches (the croissant sandwich was light & flaky), breakfast plates & a burrito, as well as a small lunch menu. There's also a large coffee menu (woo hoo!), pastries & of course, donuts (the apple fritter was our favorite). The baristas are very friendly, brought our orders to the table & bussed for us. This is exactly what I'm looking for when looking for breakfast at PCB. I don't mind waiting in long lines for popular restaurants but I'd rather do that for dinner. I have 2 small kids and waiting for a long time for food when they are hungry is a nightmare. I stumbled across this place just browsing Yelp & Google Maps. My kids wanted donuts but I wanted something more. Sunrise has a nice assortment of traditional breakfast foods as well as cakes and pastries. Although they ran out of donuts to the dismay of my son, I got him a waffle instead. My omelette was fantastic, the hash browns were crispy. The croissant sandwich was buttery, meaty, and awesome. The waffle was golden brown and sweet. I was in and out of here in about 40 minutes. That includes ordering time. One tip is to sit away from the nook on the right side of the restaurant. The AC units are on the left side of the restaurant and at 10 AM, it was close to 90 degrees and we were sweating while eating breakfast because of the heat outside. read more

My daughters split the waffle, my husband the breakfast burrito and I had the loaded croissant. The loaded croissant was absolutely delicious. So good we went twice on our vacation and will be back again. It was the best breakfast we had while on vacation and we ate out every morning. The breakfast melt both bacon and sausage were good as well as the hash brown burrito. Coffee was good too with a good selection of different things to try. I CRIED!! I wish I could give 10 stars!! This was the most gorgeous cake I had ever seen. Pictures do not do justice!! I felt so bad cutting into it. Not to mention it was delicious!! My mom called in a gender reveal cake for us. We have never ordered a cake and didn't realize It was last minute but the manager/owner went above and beyond and said he would get it done for us. Went as far as to go to another store to get what he needed in order to put the gender in the cake as they didn't have any on hand. This was so unique and made us feel so special. I was really disappointed with my visit to Sunrise Bakery and Cafe. Most of the baked goods tasted like they'd been sitting out for days. The donuts and cupcakes were hard as a rock -- definitely not fresh -- and had that stale, old flavor. The cookies were even worse, with a weird artificial smell and a taste that was just plain awful. On top of that, the building itself had a strange smell that made the whole experience even more unappetizing. maybe the food here is better than the bakery but unfortunately, I won't be coming back to try it . read more

Stopped in for brunch this morning and I got a veggie omelette. These are not on the menu-menu you pick up by the door, but listed on a paper menu next to the register. The veggies and eggs tasted fresh and delicious. My husband got the loaded burrito and liked it. The bite I took of it was good. Our girls (7&9) shared a waffle with strawberries (syrup is on the table). They liked their waffle. The girls at the register were nice, we got there just before the little rush and picked a table quickly and our food came quickly. The ambiance is super cute, a little warm since we were right by the heater but overall the restaurant has a beach vibe and has a flamingo over on the side that has a spot where you can take a picture from PCB. read more

Edit after recieving response from owner; I changed my stars to 3 from 1 due to a rapid response and explanation from the owner. Original response: Went in around 8am Tuesday April 12, 2022. There were only a couple of customers there so they weren't busy. You grab a menu at the door and walk up to order at the counter. I ordered the traditional breakfast with 2 eggs over medium, sausage, grits and white toast. Eggs were over-easy not medium; the sausage was burned and hard like a hockey-puck, toast was cold, grits were good, though. I had a decaf coffee which was good. A server brought us our food; when I asked for cream and sugar she pointed to a counter across the room, which apparently meant I was to go get it. She was too busy chatting with a family that was eating there. Guess we weren't her type of customer or something, not sure. Wife had grits and bacon, she said they were ok. One thing that we do NOT like is when you go to a place like this where you pay and basically serve yourself, they ask for a tip up-front...this is NEVER a good sign and that alone will make sure we never return (to the Owner Alex - putting a tip line on the receipt at the ordering counter compels people to tip as it makes customers feel if they don't tip, their food will be subpar; therefore my wife tipped, and our food was still subpar). As far as asking for food to be replaced if bad...not an acceptable answer. The place wasn't busy, the food was still not good; the opportunity for the food to be fresh and cooked appropriately was missed by your staff. Parking is in the rear around the block and very cramped. All over not the best experience for us. read more
