Make an appointment. Excellent service. I needed a smog check and sent out requests for quotes on Yelp. I couldn't get a hold of any of my local smog check companies, and in some cases they didn't have a voicemail set up. Bayside quickly responded, recommended making an appointment. I was able to confirm for the next day (Saturday). I made it there for my appointment and heard the walk-in in front of me, who had to leave his car there all day. My appointment was only about 10 minutes. I was able to get the confirmation and was out the door. Very affordable. Just call ahead and make an appointment.

I found Bayside on Yelp and was not disappointed. I made my reservation through Yelp and got the $10 Yelp discount automatically. They had open availability and I was able to get in at the date/time I wanted. We arrived a few minutes late and it worked out because the prior appointment was not quite done. Once it was our turn the whole thing took 15 minutes. Very fast and great friendly service. We'll be back in 2 years!

They did what they said they would do. No hidden agenda. Opens at 9am I believe. Got there on a Friday a little after 9am. Took about 10mins. Nice guy. Checked in on yelp & got the discount. My car is a 2000 Toyota Avalon so it was $48 or $49 ($40 for the smog test & $8 for the certificate.) read more

Second time I've used them, one for a compact car other was for a van. Made an appointment before going, I arrived early but tech was accommodating since he was not working on another vehicle. Tech was wearing mask when he and I (wearing one also) were going over the cost and other specifics. Great service and fast. read more

Such fast and friendly service literally walked in with no appointment (I did call slightly ahead of time) and was seen right away. I walked to Safeway down the road to grab a few things and the car was already ready and waiting for me when I got back. I wish I remembered the gentleman's name that was up in the front, but he was extremely polite and professional! I will definitely be back! read more

My wife and I work hard, full time jobs at big box stores in Concord. She makes $13 per hour and I make $16.75 per hour. We can't afford to pay over $100 per hour to someone for doing a smog check. They charge $40 for a smog check & one man can easily do three per hour. That's many times what most people make per hour! read more

Best price for a SMOG (don't forget to use coupon for a further discount). Technician was very nice, and very quick. I was in and out in less than 20 minutes. They do one free retest (I didn't need that fortunately), and don't charge extra for larger vehicles like SUVs. He said the SMOG takes as long for a small car as for an SUV. That's what I thought! So why are all of those other SMOG places charging more for SUVs? I found one place for $98 that offered free wi-fi and coffee (Bayside Smog will give you free wi-fi access as well). That's some expensive coffee that Bayside's competitor is charging! I like the honesty of this place and WILL be returning in 2 years. I'm writing this review so I'll remember where I went! read more

Decided to get my smog done today (10/15/15) and looked on Yelp for the best deal and was brought here. I made an appt in the morning and and arrived at 1115 and am done with my smog writing this review at 1130! As with the other yelpers..the majority of reviews seem to be right. I came by, The employee was friendly but quick to get to business. Asked all the necessary questions and gave me my discount for checking in. 10 minutes after signing paperwork...my car was done! $40 out the door. As an added bonus, the inspection revealed that I was missing a screw on my engine that my dealer forgot to replace. Thanks for the heads up! read more

After reading the other reviews I called early Friday afternoon (1/22/16) and got an appointment for an hour later. The entire process including check-in took about 20 minutes. And his price can't be beat. I've previously taken my car to places in Danville and San Ramon and paid a lot more. I have found the best place to get smog checks from now on. read more

It was time to smog our 2012 Camry. I searched online to find a good deal and came across Bayside Smog. With coupon from their website the total cost was $40.00, best price around most places charge $50 and up. Called made an appointment on a Saturday, got to shop and had no wait time! Naqib was the technician who did a great job and was very friendly. Great service, so we took our 2006 Tacoma in this week and got the same deal with coupon. Okay, I did something I never do & went back to this place again after almost 2 years since my bad experience there. Why? Because for the kind of smog test I needed this shop is the cheapest in the area by far, so I held my breath & decided to try them again. The guy working there now is all business -- he got me in quickly, did the test, gave me my papers, and off I went (the jerk who 2 years before made me wait behind someone who got there after I did was long gone -- good riddance!). So I'm now raising my review from 1 star to 3 stars (I think that's fair, one horrible visit, one great one, they average out). I'm glad to see this place is now run a lot better than it was before. I will try them again for my next smog, and if all goes well I'll raise my review again. read more

Prices of smog checks in general have definitely gone up since around 2012. A smog check back in…read morethose days only cost around forty dollars whereas now after coupons at most places cost around sixty. The price has surged even more so than restaurant food prices over the years, and I'm not sure what justifies this as labor has increased across the board in all industries. Nevertheless, came to Green Star as I had come here before a few years back and they had been fast and efficient. This is still the case. After the coupon, the test came out to be around sixty dollars. The technician was fast and was done in approximately 20 minutes. Prices here appear reasonable after the coupon. California law requires smog check centers to post their prices in a conspicuous manner for the public to view, but it's difficult reviewing prices and comparing between centers when most centers have no pictures of their prices on yelp.

FINALLY!! A smog place I (and you) can trust. I came here as a last ditch effort in attempting to smog my wifes 2015 Chevy Malibu. We were getting some bad codes that prevented it from being smogged and I went to another smog place in Concord. I was sold approx $800 in repairs and THEN told that I should call CarFax get a quote and take it and get rid of the car! This 2015 Malibu is hardley drive as I work from home 100K milles. After hitting another auto repair place it was told to me... Im betting this would pass go to BAYSIDE SMOG... I did and Im glad I did. Retold my story to Naqib and he smiled and stayed neutral on it while seeing the disbelief in his eyes on my being told the car would cost more to repair and smog than to just "sell it as is" It took them 15 minutes maybe to smog the car with no issues... no weird side gimmicks or tricks, the car just passed as it was. Bayside has a lifelong customer and Ill steer everyone needing a smog to this guy. Solid service! read more

I stopped by on a Saturday morning for a smog check. The technician was clearly busy working on a vehicle, but he still took a moment to check in with me. He let me know he was swamped at the moment but kindly offered to fit me in around 12:30 PM and booked a quick appointment for me right then. I came back around 12:20, and he was just wrapping up the previous job. He started on my car at 12:25 and let me know it would take about 10 to 15 minutes and he was spot on. I really appreciated that he respected my time and kept everything running efficiently. The smog check was quick, professional, and the price was great. Have a raised truck.. And trying all over the local area to find a place to do a alignment was a call to every place with no can do. Credit first to Larrys Tires who recommended them. Talked with Lex and set up a time bring my truck in. The man was friendly, funny and professional. Truck had to stay until the next day as the job was a little more complicated then a standard truck or car alignment. Anyways he called when finished and went over everything they did. Great Service! Was promptly attended to by the owner. He is very knowledgeable about all things smog. I came where without an appointment, with 2 people ahead of me. He was still able to squeeze me in even though we were getting close to closing time. I like the efficiency he showed, to get us out of there promptly. The waiting area is very organized and clean. I had my first smog done here in February and just had my other car done this week. Customer service from Andrew was excellent and he got me in and out quickly and I passed both smogs. My first test was not going to pass but he replaced my gas cap and everything was good. The place is just a little hard to find since it's off the street and a little hard to see but well worth the effort. I will be back! read more
