Between the…read morequiet, cozy nights, large 8 ft pool, charcoal grilling, and walking distance to downtown Lake George, we had a blast. The owners are very transparent with what their cottages are and explain which cottage would be most suitable. I originally found them through Airbnb, but I highly suggest you go through their website for less fees and better communication. The cottages remind me of camping, but they are renovated so more like glamorous camping or "glamping." We stayed in cottage #7 and the bathroom was beautiful, the minifridge has a freezer for ice, and the bedroom has a large queen sized bed. Temperature was not an issue as the cottage was cool and had lots of windows and a fan. The location is amazing. Just across the street from the lake and close to the ADK brewery and biking trails. You can bike to all of the hottest destinations in under 10 minutes from here. The owners are very friendly and provide dish soap, sponges, plates, silverware, cookware, bed linens, toilet paper, charcoal grills, and fire-pits. The only thing to beware about is the high population of moths surrounding the area because of the tall trees, but we found them throughout Lake George. If you are looking for a cheaper place to stay in Lake George, but are not the full on camping type, I suggest Pine Grove Cottages. We are already planning our next stay here and are excited to check out the other cabins.

We had a total of 45 family members staying here. The rooms are old, dirty, and poorly maintained. Some of the rooms had no hot water and the owner Lenny, said that he tries to regulate the hot water. The lock on the entry door to our room was broken and difficult to lock. Lenny checked it out and said you have play with it, and it isn't going to be like your lock at home, you have to play with it. If you rent the big house on the premise, it smelled and had cobwebs on the chandeliers and in the kitchen. Also, keep in mind that the owner lives on the top floor. Its very odd! The two bedrooms both had holes in the walls from the door knobs. The bathroom is tiny with a very old tub and sink. The next day we rented boats. Lenny and another worker set the boats up. I expressed I didn't know how to swim and needed life jackets. They got the life jackets, but once we were already out on the boats, we realized there were none on it. I called the owner Lenny and he wasn't apologetic and kept saying he couldn't believe they weren't on the boat. I checked again with him on the phone and there were none on it. He then brought us the life jackets on the lake. Other family members were on another boat that broke down on the water. Lenny came and made light of it, said he knew there was an issue with the boat, and told them to wait on the boat while he went to talk to a mechanic at dock. Again he never apologized or offered any compensation for their lost boat time. Upon returning my boat, he didn't apologize and then proceeded to tell us that we damaged the propellor on the engine. There was no way we did and and he was so nasty about it. My husband and I started arguing with him. Immediately he started saying I'm going to call the cops. I expressed how with any complaint we made, he made light of it, and never tried to rectify the situation. We got nowhere with him and decided to leave. Please read the other negative comments because they are true! He must be writing his own positive reviews!

Daphne, the manager, was very helpful when I called and also with all of our back-and-forth texts. At one point, my niece accidentally double-locked the bathroom doors, and housekeeping couldn't get them open. Totally our fault, but the hotel still refunded our late checkout fee without me even asking, which was really nice of them. It's honestly such a charming place. This was my second time staying there -- I was there about 10 years ago and loved it then too. I'm already looking forward to going back next year. The location is also perfect if you're rafting with North Creek Rafting Company. It's about a 5-minute walk, which made things really easy. The Eagle's Nest had plenty of space for breakfast and just hanging out comfortably. I really don't understand the 1-star reviews. I guess you can't please everyone, but we had no complaints at all. The rooms were extremely comfortable and quaint. We enjoyed the common spaces that included a fire pit with a charcoal grill. There was a lovely outdoor structure with a stone fireplace and seating area that was being used by another couple. The lounge inside had a lot to offer and made us feel at home. If I'm Back in the Adirondacks I will be seeking out the other venues that the Weekender company has to offer.

We ate out a few times, but the kitchen was fully furnished to make a nice dinner last night . our unit 13 has a lovely main bedroom with a jacuzzi on-suite. With 2nd bedroom on the same level. The 2nd floor had great views from the living room and a fireplace that opened to the dining room. with a 3 rd bedroom in a loft (a very cool room for kids ) easy parking . since the fireworks were right down the road, we walked down to the doc and could watch without having to drive the views are spectacular. Now on to the full review:…read more Thanks to the foresight of my late grandfather, my family is fortunate enough to have a camp on the northeastern shore of Lake George. Throughout life's ups and downs, I've yet to miss visiting in the summer/fall for any of my 42 years. Lake George is 32 miles long, and the northern basin (north of the "Narrows" group of islands) really is better than the southern half. Why? It's cleaner, less busy, and a lot less commercialized. The trade-off is you're a bit farther from the highways, making the trip to the nearest airports (Albany, NY or Burlington, VT) or rainy day things like the mall a little longer. The northern basin also is not chock full of lakefront restaurants and bars like the south side (Bolton and Lake George village). Anyway, that was a long preamble to Martucci's restaurant. I'll get to the point now: this isn't just the best place to eat in northern lake George, it's the best place to eat on the lake - period! They serve breakfast 7 days a week, and serve dinner Thursday - Sunday evenings 5:30 to 7:30 PM. They've got things like burgers, lamb chops, and salmon every night. There are also rotating specials like their lamb shank. My dad and I were lucky, and went on a night when lamb shank was on the menu. All I can say is: damn it's good! You won't need a knife, it's "fall off the bone" tender. The orzo it's served with is very flavorful too, I believe they cook it in the lamb juices? Rich as lamb is supposed to be, but not overly so. Dad & I agreed it's some of the best lamb we've had! Dinner also included a nice salad (forgot to take a pic) with a choice of 3 dressings: blue cheese, thousand island or oil & vinegar. We both went with blue cheese and it was very tasty. Nice and thick, definitely not from a jar. The rolls were fresh baked and served with Cabot butter, which is the best around. Soup of the day was spinach. Frankly I'm not a big spinach guy, but I had most of my serving. It had a nice flavor and was in what I think was a beef stock. My dad devoured his. We didn't have room for dessert, but they had several options available. We brought our leftovers home and enjoyed them the next day. Throw the lamb and orzo in some Corningware in a 350F oven until it's warmed through, and it's almost as good as the first night. There is also a really cool bar that'll take you back in time to what the "real Adirondacks" used to feel like. Beautiful wood bar, knotty pine paneling, and a booze selection that's more than adequate but not overwhelming. We arrived by boat and docking was a breeze. They had a staff member come out and be kindly assisted with tying up. If you're an inexperienced boater, be mindful of the navigation buoys (as you should already be on this large lake). I'd suggest making a reservation, and arriving early to enjoy a drink on their deck overlooking the lake. They've got nice grounds to walk around too. The owner Dave takes great pride in his family business. We are grateful to have such an amazing place to make new family memories - while enjoying great food amidst true Adirondack ambiance and hospitality. If you're staying in lake George village or Bolton landing, take the easy and scenic drive up Route 9N - it's well worth the visit. We can't wait to go back!

From international musicians to local artists... it is a treat to be able to listen to this music.. they also offer paint and sip, many activities on the property including free access for guests to canoes, kayaks, and rowboats... for a day adventure on the lake and to the islands... the rooms are authentic to the time period in which they were built... while constant upgrades are happening on the property. Many families return year after year... some have been coming for 35 years or more... as well as new guests arrive to enjoy the beauty and majestic views here.. that only this property has. The experience is worth the price to stay here... even though the price to stay here is accommodating for all people... no matter their pay bracket or social class. Truly a warm and welcoming space where are all welcome and invited... and feel at home... in the Adirondacks! Room service is upon request (which is the norm these days anywhere you go). There are kayaks for guests to use at the lake for free. We booked a private 1-hour boat tour ride on one of the boats docked at the resort. AMAZING!!!!

They do offer motel style rooms but also two bedroom or three bedroom houses. We reserved a two bedroom house and it was perfect for us. This place felt brand new and it was very clean plus the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. This place was completely booked the whole time we were there. On our last day we asked if we can have a late checkout but we were told that we couldn't. There was another family waiting for our room but we were invited to stay on the property for the day if we wanted. The property itself is on a steep hill. Getting up and down from your room to the lake is very steep and great workout and the views of the lake were amazing. This is perfect a place for a family vacation. There were families here with small children and Tea Island does offer free activities. They have a shuffle board, free kayaking, canoeing, paddle boards, plus more. Everything that they offered was really in great shape or new. It was so laid back and actually relaxing to be here. They also have a swimming pool because it was across the street we actually didn't see the pool. We were out doing other activities during the day so by the time we got back we just hung around the lake. They also provide bbq grills that are available for you to use and they were being used every night by families staying on the property. Its much easier than going out to eat every night. No one slept well because of a safety light on the path next door shining in the rooms. Master bedroom upstairs has doors to a small balcony overlooking the main living area. There are no shades or curtains on these doors so you can't have the lights on in the kitchen area or dining area without them shining in the bedroom. There are three random wall lights but not a single switch turns them on. There were dishes in the dishwasher, food on the spatula, and food stuck on the cutting board. There was hair in the upstairs bathtub. The downstairs bathroom was clean and the shower curtain looked freshly laundered. The extra blankets snelled strongly of someone's perfume in places. Unlike other condos or rentals we've stayed in there were not the general provisions in a full kitchen like you might expect. Such as salt, pepper, You cannot adjust the temperature. That lil B word thermostat just kept saying...... but my family likes it cold. So instead we opened up windows, but awesome sauce theres no screens on the windows. If you happen to stay the weekend of a wedding, you can hear the music from the festivities in the condos. There were fireworks offered by the wedding party, which usually I'd be jazzed about. They were at 9:45. We're in the season where it's dark out by 7:30. Just my personal opinion, they should be an hour after sunset in any season if your in a highly populated area.
