Jones V has sadly passed away on the evening of August 18, 2022, as a result of a motorcycle accident. He died doing something he truly enjoyed. Thomas graduated from South Glens Falls in 2006 and continued on to get an Associate's degree from ACC. After graduating from ACC, he worked at Trustco bank in South Glens Falls for a short time until he realized that he had to follow his dreams. Five years ago, he decided he wanted to open his own business and that is when Devocean Watersports was born. He managed to put together a great team of employees that helped him with boat charters and jet-ski tours on Lake George, out of the hotel "Twin Birches." Thomas loved his business and put everything he had into it. His smile and enthusiasm was infectious to everyone he met along his journey in life. He really enjoyed teaching people how to do things that was out of their norm. Thomas also made many friends down in Marathon within the keys were he went every winter, enjoying life to the fullest. He was predeceased by his father Thomas P. Jones IV. Thomas is survived by his mother Denise Jones, his brother Patrick Jones, his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bowen and two uncles Christopher and Bob Bowen. We went to many private owners and dealerships that sold old and new boats in the Lake George area, but when we entered Yankee Boating, being greeted by Brian MacDuff (Sales Manager), right away we felt like VIPs and Brian's attention to detail and to our needs as new boat owners was just incredible. What's more amazing is that, although we ended up purchasing a used boat from Yankee, Brian never let up on his attention to detail and personal touch, and made sure we left Yankee with an amazing 2014 Monetary 204 FS. This has been an incredible experience that I know we would not have found anywhere else. It doesn't stop there; the entire team at Yankee Boating continued our amazing experience. Whether it was Kate in service preparing our boat to be in tip top shape, or Nino at the Yankee Marina who went above and beyond to assist us in a moment of need, each part of the Yankee family provided us with an experience second to none. The bottom line is that Yankee has proven to be, without a doubt, the total boating experience. If you are in the market for a new or used boat, definitely go to Yankee. What's more is, I was "that lady" who brought a waterproof phone protector with a neck strap to take pictures with my family and friends. I was also "that lady" who took the neck strap off to avoid tan lines...needless to say, my phone went into the Hudson River without me realizing it! Ethan and his crew were so kind during my personal meltdown, mostly due to me kicking myself for being so careless. They had a group of 80 after us, but assured me they would all look out for it as they had an idea where I dropped it. We called every half hour in the hopes one of the other crews may have discovered the phone, and at 4:50, my husband's phone rang with the amazing news that the phone was found safely! All 3 of our guides looked and I cannot express how grateful I am to them all!! Personal tragedy aside, our entire group said the lazy river was the best part of our trip, and we have already recommended AAC to friends who are traveling to Lake George in the coming weeks! July 3rd afternoon - picked up the boat - not much of a choice at this point. July 4th - tape came off and siding part bent out while we are on the water. Captain Bob refused to fix it - too busy, not enough workers, etc. July 5th - steering cable broke. Lost half a day - the boat had to be towed back for repairs. We were temporary given another boat to come back later same day to pick up the broken one. Captain Bob was not able to complete the repair and gave us yet another boat - another hour wasted. July 6th - Captain Bob charged our credit card for additional $2700 for the repairs of taped up siding and some new dent he claims he found on the railing. When questioned - he cursed us out and called us the abusers of his boat and that he never wanted to see us again. Also threatened to sue us if we dispute the charges. Seen some similar reviews - looks like Captain Bob runs this scheme on a regular basis. STAY AWAY !!!

He has always been super responsive to our group, and his knowledge of the area is extensive. We docked at his marina and stayed overnight at Big G's Pub airbnb just up the block. Lynn was super-accommodating. Ten of us descended on his Pub for a late dinner, and despite being short on help at that late hour, Lynn did not disappoint. Wings, burgers, steaks, fries, were all fresh, hot and delicious. Jim at the bar keep our drinks cold and full. We enjoyed the classic rock music and playing pool, but most of all we enjoyed chatting with Lynn and hearing of his exploits and adventures. Two of our ski's broke down on our way to Whitehall, so we left them at a marina on our way up. Lynn called us the next day to see if we were able to pick them up or if we needed help. If you are in the area, stop by for a beer, a bite and a chat with Lynn, absolutely one of the nicest guys we have ever met.
