Took my toddler in for his first dental checkup and, as expected, there were definitely some tears. It wasn't an easy visit for him, but I truly appreciated how the dentist and staff handled everything. The dentist was extremely patient, calm, and gentle with my son, even while he was crying and nervous. She didn't rush, stayed reassuring, and still managed to do a thorough job. You can tell she's very experienced with little ones and understands that first visits can be overwhelming for toddlers. The staff was kind and understanding, which made me feel more at ease as a parent. The office was clean, organized, and welcoming. Even though my toddler had a tough moment, I left feeling grateful we were in good hands. I took my two year old son to this dentist three times but I cannot go back. The front of office staff are kind and the office is tidy and serene but the dentist has no bedside manner. The dentist literally tells patients to hold their children down and ignore their screams while brushing their teeth. My son was two and she literally told him to "stop talking" when he was trying to tell her to stop hurting him. I'm sorry but that is unacceptable. I am an adult and I will not continue seeing doctors who ignore my needs and concerns so I definitely will not accept that treatment for my toddler. read more

We trust bayview pediatrics for our son. The staff is super friendly and know all the right tricks to get my son to open wide so they can do a teeth cleaning. There were no tears or screaming, just a lot of giggles from tickling his teeth while watching some good ole Paw Patrol. It's a win-win because I get to walk away feeling confident my son's teeth are clean and healthy! In addition, the wait time is minimal, so they are good about getting us in and out. From the min we walked into the office everyone was so nice. Koa (4 yrs old) was very nervous and scared. The setup and toys made koa happy. The office is very clean. Nurse Diana was so welcoming and friendly. Diana cleaned Koas teeth with such great patience and was extremely gentle. Before she started to do anything she explained to him exactly what every tool was for. He even got him to take his X Ray pictures. Bayview is an amazing and professional place. I have three kids that we pay out of pocket to bring here. Dr Tera has excellent bedside manners, makes my children feel comfortable, takes the time to answer all our questions, and is honest. She is willing to work with the parents on more gentle procedures to try and save teeth, rather than immediately jump to crowns for simple cavities. (We experienced this at another dentist practice). Dr Stephanie and her team are the best. Personalized service. Friendly. Helpful. They take the time to talk to you about your kids, explain what's going on, and answer any questions. Unlike some of the "factories" around here who pump through a ton of kids. I have 3 elementary age kids I take to Dr Stephanie. They have a room with 2 chairs for siblings, and with the 3 they use another room and get all 3 done at once. Very convenient for a parent with multiple kids. All I can say is wow. If you are a parent that has questions about your child's care do not go here. Dr. Tera was extremely unprofessional when I asked her a simple question about her policy. Which resulted in her making us wait over a month to be seen only for her to cancel my appointments for both my daughters a week before treatment. She absolutely doesn't care about your child's care, she only cares about your ability to pay your co-pay. I asked her if it was possible to wait for my insurance to process before making any additional payments, which completely set her off. She said she doesn't usually talk about insurance payments, but when I called her office to speak with someone in billing, I was told she was the only person with all the answers. So basically if you don't ask questions, just shut up and pay, this place is perfect for you. She also told me how difficult my child was ( my daughter is really scared of the dentist ) let me know all I needed to know about her. Below is the email I was sent after we spoke over the phone about her "policy". I guess her policy means much more than my daughters care. As she said herself "I have to pay my bills and staff" "After our phone conversation on 8/28/24 it is clear that there is a lack of trust and that we are not on the same page as far as my treatment recommendations for your daughters' treatment or our office financial policies. Your upcoming appointments have been canceled at our office. Please see the attached letter for further instructions. I asked her if it was okay for her staff to ask me about fluoride treatments before they were given, simply because my insurance only covers one per year. My son has been seeing Dr. Tera for over a year now. I am very very happy with the office! Practice is small, clean, and very modern. Everyone is very friendly! My son LOVES going to the dentist. He looks forward to going to the dentist every 6 months. Dr. Tera and her staff always takes the time to explain things and make sure you understand. I work in the dental field at an implant center where we mainly do full mount reconstructions. And I can't even begin to tell you how many stories I hear from our patients that they had fear to the dentist from childhood trauma. I absolutely loved the experience we had at Bayview this week. My daughter has been going to Dr. Stephanie for years but my husband usually takes her and this was my first time going. The staff was incredibly nice and welcoming as we arrived. The waiting room is so clean and a kids paradise with lots to keep waiting kiddos occupied. The hygienist was really kind and caring and made sure my daughter was very comfortable during her cleaning. Bonus, my daughter was able to watch a show during the cleaning. We use to go to a popular local pediatric dentist in town. I DON'T CARE HOW MANY ANIMAL BALLOONS MY KIDS WALK OUT OF THE OFFICE WITH.... I will never go back.
