We really enjoyed our late lunch at The Pub in Sitka. Food was good, service solid, and, since it was Halloween, we got to see a parade of families with kids in costume doing the Sitka Trick or Treat thing. Will definitely go back if/when we return to Sitka. read more

Everything about this place is awsome from the decor to the food. Love the well they call it Chilli but it has bean... but delicious non the less. The Wade burger now thats what you get 1/2 lb patty up grade to Wagu topped with fire roasted bellpepper, bacon, onion ring, pepper jack chz and garlic aioli.... top this they have FRESH yes I said it FRESH CUT FRIES. This is pretty much my favorite place to get a burger in Sitka. It is a must stop for me. I usually do a build your own burger, but today I did the Wade; yum! It's topped with bacon, grilled red pepper and an onion ring and comes with a garlic aioli sauce. I got mine with the pretzel bun (which is my favorite). My family and I went on a cruise and while in Sitka thought we'd give the best fish and chips a try. They were very good, but really greasy for my taste. I also had the reuben sandwich, which was by far the best rueben I've ever had to date. Despite the food being good, I have a few complaints. We had a group of 8 and some of us planned on splitting a meal... so the waitress split the meal in the kitchen and brought it out in 2 separate trays. At first I thought this was nice of her, but then I realized that on the ticket they charged $2 a split to do so. I am not so upset at the price although the prices were a little steep but that is often the case in a location such as this. It was more of an issue of integrity to me, we felt the waitress should have made it known to us of the split fee. Also, it took a loooong time for our food. Almost an hour, and it was just moderately busy. I would recommend the rueben though, just don't split it with someone else. :) read more

Meh. Rock fish was just ok, not great, bland and very greasy. Onion rings and fries were pretty good. Hard sell on the drinks by the waitress who wasn't particularly nice to begin with, it was just awkward. It was also pretty expensive, but I think that's just the 'norm' for Alaska. read more

Great spot. We had the bacon blue cheese fries. Big serving, we shared among four guys and had plenty. We then all had a couple of burgers, "the wade" and "the double burner." Cooked the way we ordered them, mid-rare. So many places can't seem to get that right. Very good stuff and don't fool yourself, "the double burner" is hot! We also split the fish and chips. Wow, very fresh. Light crispy batter. Great food overall and surprisingly friendly service for a tourist town that I'm sure deals with many out-of-towners every day. This locations seems to be constantly changing over the past 4 years. The mystery with Sitka is why the dining overall is so incredibly marginal. The pub serves a nice burger. There's beer but don't ask for one that they list as evil in their menu. Servers are kind of funky. read more

Up the stairs and you get a great view of the sound and mountains. Ordered the ceasar salad with grilled salmon. Service was kind of slow and distracted. Waitress took order for one person at the table but walked away without taking the order of the other person at the table. Beer at $8 for a tap seemed a little pricey, but then again Alaska is an expensive place! My dining companion got peeved when the waitress took his cash for his check and did not return his change. He was so incensed he decided that change that was not returned was going to be the entire tip instead of adding the cash he had in his hand that he was going to add to the change. The server kind of shot herself in the foot by making an assumption on the change for the check and she ended up with much less than her 'self help' tip netted. My salad was good, companion liked his burger, view couldn't be beat, it was just the service that needs improvement. read more

Had lunch while in town for the fire conference. Pub is a clean, hip place with a wonderful view! Lunch was great with the clam chowder being excellent as well as a fresh salad. Quite content with the food, however service at the bar seating was poor. Never checked on while my water glass ran dry.. people that sat at tables appeared to be serviced well. Im currently in a hinged knee brace but we trekked up the stairs to this place. Im pretty short and we were led past a table at the regular height to a bar top table. In my current condition I was unable to climb up on the tall stool. I asked about the lower table and she said that table was for more people. We were a party of 3, and the table was for 4. She then left us standing in the middle of the pub and seated others to the bar table, continuing to ignore us. We left.. she watched me hobbled down the stairs and never even piinted out the elevator at the other end of the space. RUDE. NEVER AGAIN. The best part... she was the owner... yikes! read more

This is a great pub on the second floor of some shops. Wooden stairs take you to it. It wraps around the entire second floor. Good cold beer. Fish and chips were excellent! Great view of the harbor. read more

They show pictures of delicious looking onion rings on their Yelp review page, but when my husband and I tried to order a side of onion rings with our hamburgers, our waiter said the onion rings were hand battered and hard to make. Our waiter said they only served them as a garnish on other hamburgers. If you're making a few, why can't you make a basketful. The burgers were average in taste and overpriced. read more

Neat location in downtown Sitka and we would like to have gone back and shot pool and darts but ran out of time. The food was mediocre at best and we had been warned that they were inconsistent. I had lunch here from recommendation from a friend. I had the turkey BLT and it was pretty darn good. If you can sit by the window the view of the harbor is excellent. The only reason not five stars was because the bathroom didn't have working soap dispensers, this might be beyond the control of the pub but it's something that needs to be fixed. read more

Cute enough, but I had a sad piece of salmon -- too old and overcooked -- in the heart of salmon country and during salmon season. Enough reason to downgrade it. Good grub and some very decent cocktails with a bit of hand crafted flair instilled. The bartenders are friendly and know their craft well. The only deduction is due to the hit or miss service of the waitstaff. Nice view and enough televisions to catch the sporting action. Great food and beverage selection, consistently horrible service and management. Once a bartender and server had a spout in front of a full bar. On several occasions a chef came out yelling at a manager for a miss order, and this time the wifi went down causing all point of me sales to go down. For 30 minutes I sat without even being offered a water. Where's the compensation? I've been back to the same bartenders and managers 6 times with no acknowledgment of who I was. read more

The server really wanted to turn it down and play something more modern as we requested but the management had her turn to Hank Williams Senior and Johnny Cash!!!!! And turn it up! I have eaten here since 1997. Today is the last time I will EVER go there. Half of their menu was not being served, and so we decided on clam chowder. We had ordered 2 bowls, but were served a cup and a bowl. They charged for 2 bowls. When i pointed it out to the server, he nonchalantly said, "so!" There was no manager available, and the staff was the rudest bunch of people i have ever seen. It escalated really fast and I just can't believe how mean spirited and bad their service was. Please don't waste your time or money - you're only encouraging snobbery of the worst kind. Who do they think they are? No wonder! I feel like I was tricked- and not in a good way. In remote Sitka they can (and do, evidently) get away with an awful lot, but really, folks, there is no excuse for how my wife and I were treated! Negative 5 stars! read more

They should have two menus: Local and Cruise Boat Tourist. Half the stuff on the menu was out. Then a few things were unavailable to cruise boat tourists so that you have to add everything on the side so they can change more. They were transparent about it at least. The lady said "the owner won't let us sell those things when the boats are in town." It was shady. I understand there is a short season for them but it's super shitty. Whatever. read more

Had breakfast here for the 4th of July. The signature cocktail was a hit for me. Others in my party loved their eggs ranchero, the mesquite turkey waffle was a risk not worth taking for me, not great. It was a fairly nice little place, quick service. Probably the highlight of the restaurant was that it had games you could play, board games and the things like pool to keep you entertained. Most of it tasted very good, however the chowder was wanting and the burgers were a little small for their prices. The whole lunch menu I thought was a little over priced for what was offered and they knew how to nickel and dime you. 75 cents for sauces, and $2 for exchange of fries for anything different. The burger also didn't come with fries but chips instead and was a $2 charge for fries while all the other sandwiches came with fries. They were very up front about the added gratuity for chips, and had very fast and attentive service. So while the food was decent I think they need to rethink prices, at least at lunchtime read more
