I have eaten here since 1997. Today is the last time I will EVER go there. Half of their menu was not being served, and so we decided on clam chowder. We had ordered 2 bowls, but were served a cup and a bowl. They charged for 2 bowls. When i pointed it out to the server, he nonchalantly said, "so!" There was no manager available, and the staff was the rudest bunch of people i have ever seen. It escalated really fast and I just can't believe how mean spirited and bad their service was. Please don't waste your time or money - you're only encouraging snobbery of the worst kind. Who do they think they are? No wonder! I feel like I was tricked- and not in a good way. In remote Sitka they can (and do, evidently) get away with an awful lot, but really, folks, there is no excuse for how my wife and I were treated! Negative 5 stars! read more

Great food and beverage selection, consistently horrible service and management. Once a bartender and server had a spout in front of a full bar. On several occasions a chef came out yelling at a manager for a miss order, and this time the wifi went down causing all point of me sales to go down. For 30 minutes I sat without even being offered a water. Where's the compensation? I've been back to the same bartenders and managers 6 times with no acknowledgment of who I was. read more

They should have two menus: Local and Cruise Boat Tourist. Half the stuff on the menu was out. Then a few things were unavailable to cruise boat tourists so that you have to add everything on the side so they can change more. They were transparent about it at least. The lady said "the owner won't let us sell those things when the boats are in town." It was shady. I understand there is a short season for them but it's super shitty. Whatever. read more

Had breakfast here for the 4th of July. The signature cocktail was a hit for me. Others in my party loved their eggs ranchero, the mesquite turkey waffle was a risk not worth taking for me, not great. But I would order the waffle with more traditional topping because it was a great waffle. read more

Very bad service. The appetizers came out with the main dish for the most part and some appetizers came out after the main dish. The waitress forgot to bring water twice and when we asked the second time she said to follow her up to the bar - really??!! I looked down for a quick second and noticed she took my beer half full then proceeded to bring us the check without asking us if we wanted anything else. read more

Looked on Yelp for a restaurant in Sitka while onshore from one of the cruise ships. We have 4 kids and the place was fun, upbeat and casual. The food was fantastic! We ordered the burger special, a Pub salad and the blue cheese fries. All was really good and service was attentive and welcoming. read more

It was a fairly nice little place, quick service. Probably the highlight of the restaurant was that it had games you could play, board games and the things like pool to keep you entertained. Most of it tasted very good, however the chowder was wanting and the burgers were a little small for their prices. The whole lunch menu I thought was a little over priced for what was offered and they knew how to nickel and dime you. 75 cents for sauces, and $2 for exchange of fries for anything different. The burger also didn't come with fries but chips instead and was a $2 charge for fries while all the other sandwiches came with fries. They were very up front about the added gratuity for chips, and had very fast and attentive service. So while the food was decent I think they need to rethink prices, at least at lunchtime read more

This restaurant was recommend to us by a local but once we arrived it is more like a pub and does not sell much local fish. So if you are visiting and want to try some seafood this is not the place. Service was good and food was average read more

Excellent. We had fish and chips (rock fish) ask for the fry sauce. When we showed up the owner was chatting it up and bussing tables. Pretty funny finding all the CO beers on tap in AK. Fun and boisterous locals (beware of bringing your wife in). Next time we are in Sitka i expect this place to be occupying the entire building. read more

Above expectations for a bar in a small city like Sitka. Tried the wings and fish tacos, were pretty decent. Thursday nights are wing nights ($.50/wing). Good atmosphere, good view, a lot of TVs, 2 pool tables, and shuffleboard. Beer selection was not too bad. Expect to pay roughly $12-17 per plate. Close to downtown (walking distance) and fast service. read more

Although this is mostly a bar, and we weren't sure about taking a 1 year old in for dinner, we were surprised at what a good experience we had. The noise level was pretty high, but it was to be expected on a Friday night. The waiter was fantastic!!! He brought the little guy's food pronto and checked in on us several times. The view of the marina was great and the food was yummy. We would definitely recommend. read more

I was in Sitka Ak on a fishing trip in the middle of July and ask the deckhand on our boat where was the best place to get a burger in town. He instantly said the Bayview Pub is the best. We went there and had the pub burgers and fries, I had a double, the best burger I can remember eating, and I have eaten a lot of burgers from a lot of different places, but this was the best. I didn't put any condiments on it, didn't need it. It was very juicy and flavorful on its own with lettuce and tomato. The fries where excellent also, service was good and prompt even though they were very busy that Saturday night. Highly recommend this place if you are in Sitka. read more

Dark, quiet on a Sunday night, burger tasted ok but not great, salad was good without the blue cheese, but not great. Ask the server for beers available and suggestions. Found the only table with an AC outlet for our electronic devices. This place probably would have been very busy, noisy, loud on a Saturday night. This place hands down amazing! From the food to the wait staff we couldn't have been more pleased! Morgan was one of the coolest bartenders ever. She was so personable and friendly. If I lived here we would be friends :) besides the incredible hospitality, the food was killer. Not to mention all the games you can play from darts, pool, board games, shuffle board... you name it they have it. Solid choice when in Sitka! Food was good, fish tacos and burgers were solid.....and as other reviewers stated, the fries were great. Great selection of beers and the cocktails were more than reasonable. We sat at the bar and our bartender was solid, best service I have seen in a long time......I would hire this kid in a minute! Went back for food and some sports ....it was much much better service. Salmon was delicious and really enjoyed meeting one of the owners.

Typical American "pub" serves ice-cold beer, pricey appetizers and general American fare. Service is "iffy". House-made chicken strips were basically pieces of frozen chicken dipped in batter and fried. Coating fell off as I tried to cut them into bite-size pieces and it was tasteless. This is the first place we came in Sitka to eat. The waitress was great, the food is excellent, and the atmosphere is fun. We both had Halibut, my husband had a fried halibut burger, it was absolutely fantastic- the fish was flaky, crisp, and hot. I had the grilled halibut, it was a little spicy for me- but my husband loved it. We also had fried pickle spears and salad to start and they were both great! The food was good, but the waitress we had was horrible! Right when we arrived the waitress acted as if she did not want to serve us. It took her forever to bring us menu's and she rarely even checked on us. She made it obvious that we annoyed her, which we had no idea why. When she took our order she didn't even write things down. I mean, I know that some waiters do that, so I let it go, BUT THEN our order was all incorrect. Then I asked the waitress a question and she half answered it and just walked away annoyed. The only time she was nice was when she was checking us out. Maybe expecting a nice tip? Anyways, turns out once we left her and the other waitresses were talking about us to the table next to us. I don't think those waitresses knew that they were our friends. Horrible service. read more

Enjoyed the view on a rainy lunchtime in Sitka. There was an adult and juvenile Eagle lazily circling and they were fun to watch through the big windows. Service was good, and the food was reasonable if nothing special for pub food. My burger was overcooked - there was no difference in the "doneness" of any of the burgers even though they were ordered for different temperatures - but the pretzel roll was great. Best of all were the fries - crispy, salty, and delicious! Prices are what you'd expect in Alaska. read more
