Edwin popped in today to survey the cleanup job less than 24 hours after I contacted him on yelp and received a nice quote for the entire job. He was polite and contacted me a head of the appointment to let me know he would be a little late. Nice common courtesy I appreciate. While he was here I asked him if he did sprinkler repair and explained that after a storm took our fence down we cut through an irrigation pipe and had to do an emergency cap on the pipe. Since that day our sprinklers never worked. Edwin went on a mission to perform a quick fix and discovered that some additional valves were shut off and with in a few minutes had our front and back yard sprinklers watering again. I am so stoked on this! I have not payed to use his services yet but I will be doing so. Guaranteed. We will probably take him up on the offer for weekly up maintenance as well. Edwin was nice and professional at the beginning. He responded the request very quick and arranged time to stop by to check out my front yard. When I first asked him for the quote, he said 3000 to redo everything including sprinkler systems and new grasses. Thereby I asked him if he could do the sprinkler system only then shall it be 1500. He said let he stop by and would give me an exactly quote. He came by and checked out my front yard. He never actually gave me a quote, he told me to pay me as the amount I feel comfortable with. After the work has almost done, he started texting off the track which made me feel extremely uncomfortable. I did let him know and he did apologize. All we texted was work but he kept asking me out. We met up at the Starbucks to discuss the payment. Once again he told me to pay me as much as I feel comfortable. So I said 500.00, he said okay. I wired transferred to him right at the spot. He did verify that he got it. Couple days later I got a notification from my bank,stating that Edwin has not accepted the payment. I contacted him immediately and instead of talking straight about it. He tried to set up a date with me which I rejected immediately. He then said "to keep the money" and finished the conversation. Now he texted me and said I owed him money and he wanted me to pay at least 800.00 in CASH for the job he didn't finish right. I do not feel secure of seeing this guy around my house. I have reported it to the Tracy police as well as letting my neighbors know about the situations. In the bottom line, Edwin has 12 days to accept the wire transfer that my bank has been sending to him. After that the amount will get disputed and I will not offer him anything else. Further questions or concerns, we shall meet at the court. All text messages have been submitted to the police as a part of the claim submitting. I hate to do this but he is just getting so weird. Got in touch with this guy to see if can give us an estimate for some backyard lawn work but we eventually took care of it through the land lord when we moved. I decided to give him a call again to see if can take care of some bushes that were in the front lawn of our new house and we agreed on a time and price. I was satisfied with what he quoted me and waited for him or his crew to stop by on the weekend to take care of it. He cancelled last minute and mentioned we need to reschedule for next week. I never got a call from him or message here through Yelp stating if was going to stop by or not since he cancelled last minute. It was very inconvenient of him and I had scheduled this early within the week only for him to cancel at the very last second. Edwin Martinez was referred to us thru a friend who raved about his amazing work. When we hired him we were really impressed with the work he did but it all went downhill once he requested payment in full and in cash before the job was complete. Since we were happy with his work we agreed and then he showed his true colors!! This guy would just leave without finishing the work.. he wouldn't give us updates as to when he would finish and shortly after he just completely started ignoring our calls n txts and when he did reply u cud sense the attitude in his tone. He still hasn't called us back or finished the work we hired and paid him to do. I will be reporting his business to the BBB. Horrible person! He did an amazing job on my side lawn and my front lawn at my home in Hayward. The last guy I had hired couldn't even finish my side lawn and this guy was determined and motivated to make sure that my whole yard got done and that made me feel better about hiring him. We could not be happier with the work provided by Edwin at Bayviews Landscape. Edwin and team did a great job on our back yard rental. He managed to re-landscape what was once a dirt backyard and did it at a reasonable price. It only took a few days. He also pulled up the roots of an old tree in leveling out the yard. The pic on yelp with back yard and patio is ours. He also fixed our sprinklers and patched up the front yard.In addition he added some plants on the perimeter. He did this work in the middle of the summer heat wave with only one other guy. They worked solid through out the day in over 100+ degree temps. He explained that additional person who was supposed to help not reliable. This was a big project and he handled it. Everything looked great with our new sod except for a few brown patches. When I followed up with him on it, he replaced those sections free of charge. He stands behind his work. Edwin did an amazing job on our yard. We had just moved into our house and the backyard was completely dirt. He came over and walked through it with us. I told him exactly what I wanted and he had some suggestions on what would look good and everything. As he was working on the yard he would ask questions to make sure that he was giving us the yard that we wanted and would be functional with our children. We started looking for a landscaper because our yard was looking pretty bad. I gave up on watering it with all the watering restrictions a few years back. We found Edwin on Yelp and the reviews looked great. We had no idea what we wanted and asked Edwin to come up with a design. All we really input was that it should be a low maintenance "desert" type theme and sent him some pictures of things we like. Edwin came up with a design that fit our specific home. We had asked him to draw a picture beforehand so we can see it but Edwin is a landscaper and not an artist; not a drawing artist anyway. He said he started to draw something but didn't want to get fired just because he draws like a child. He did a great job explaining things along the way. He ran ideas by us all the time to see if it would be something we like. He sent pictures of items that he thought would look good. Edwin was absolutely attentive to what we wanted. He provided us a time frame for the work and stuck to it. I have to add one thing though because I want to make fun of him. If you are looking to put a pond on your property look no further. This is your man! And that is NOT a burst pipe joke. Edwin really really wants to build a pond and we had a good laugh about it. Oh and one more thing.
