I just stayed here and had a great time. This hotel is impeccably clean and it feels like new throughout the entire complex. From my room to there gym, restaurant and lawns overlooking the waterside etc. not to mention the entire staff which was the best I ever experienced and I stayed at so many hotels in my life. I would and will return to the Pridwin as soon as I can .

Gorgeous views, high quality and excellent service. This is an amazing spot on Shelter Island to have a bite to eat, to take in views, to spend time with family and friends.

We had a wonderful stay at The Pridwin. Our cottage was adorable and comfortable slept 4 of us. The pool was great for lounging all day and there were some fun activities such as paddle boarding, kayaking, ping pong and corn hole. Hotel was very clean. Amos and Benedict at the front desk were both very charming. I hope to go back soon!

This place deserves a huge uptick in rating. I just finished a mini honeymoon here with my wife and everything was fantastic. The staff was great and very on top of their game. Anything you need they got it. Outdoor sports bar and pool all day was a great relaxing atmosphere. Cocktails/beers delivered right to your seat all day long with a phenomenal view of the water. Highly recommend the expresso martinis with Marko at the main bar inside after you are finished with your pool day. Old school looking bar with a relaxed vibe. I will definitely be coming back in the future. The old pictures on previous reviews don't do it justice. This place is great.

Just lovely. Great location, fantastic views, delicious food, comfy rooms, kind staff, perfect ambiance. It doesn't feel too small or too overwhelming and it's easy to get around. The dinner menu was inspired, we had to go back for more, try the s'mores! The place was completely remodeled.

The oysters and fish at the Terrace restaurant. Amazing!!!

We loved this hotel and the food at the restaurant was so delicious. We cannot wait to come back to this newly renovated gem!

Can not get enough of how beautiful and peaceful this resort is. Attention to detail is around every nook and corner.

Lovely setting. Well-meaning if amateurish service. Mediocre food at high prices. Would not return.

A family member has a medical condition that requires a specific type of mattress, so I called to ask a simple question about what kind of mattresses they offer. I was connected with a woman named Beth, who was shockingly rude and unprofessional. When I began explaining the situation, she literally said, "I don't have time for this," and then followed it with, "Are you making a reservation or not?" I was stunned. We were ready to spend a week here, but after being treated like an inconvenience for asking a basic, medically necessary question, there's no way I'd trust our family vacation to this place. I'm genuinely at a loss for words at how poorly I was treated. Also, I might like to add it takes a lot for me to leave a negative review. I think I've only ever left one other negative review on my account. Trying to support small local business has always been a priority of mine and I understand people have good days and bad days so I don't usually take two social media to post a negative review but this was over the top nasty. I felt I needed to do so. Not to mention, I took a screenshot. The phone call was only one minute, so the fact that she became so nasty and saying she shouldn't have time for this I'm flabbergasted.

The food was absolutely the star of the night and every dish felt thoughtful, fresh, and beautifully executed. The tomatoes on toast were incredible! Bright, ripe, and full of flavor, with that perfect balance of freshness and richness. The Sardinian flatbread was another standout, crisp and savory and completely addictive. Even the complimentary bread service was memorable, especially with the basil butter, which was such a simple but delicious touch that made the whole meal feel extra special. The rigatoni was outstanding! Perfectly cooked, comforting, and deeply flavorful without feeling heavy. Everything we had felt polished but still warm and approachable, which is exactly what you want when dining at a hotel restaurant that really overdelivers. Truly one of those meals where you keep talking about the food afterward. What pulled it altogether was the cure little birthday sign waiting for us on our table, 2 glasses of free champagne and dessert to celebrate my husband's birthday. Warm and thoughtful touches that we've never had at a restaurant before and all because i just noted it in my reservations. Truly a perfect evening, highly recommend.

I have recommended your hotel (which is very very average inside and very expensive) to many people who have stayed there over the last six years. Never once have I gotten a discount when I have paid for a room nor even a thank you for recommending the hotel over others on the island. There aren't many options, so you do have a monopoly. The hotel has a 29-day canceling policy which means after that date they take the money and don't refund a penny. Doesn't matter the time of year. No credit, no partial credit, no special consideration for the residents here, zero. It is a bit absurd even for a resort hotel, especially for a resort hotel with this kind of quality, and particularly unfriendly for an already very unfriendly business who has closed the pharmacy next door (plenty to read in that front with the New York Magazine article on Soliviev.) So I get it-you don't like us. We don't like you, either. Last time I will ever have someone stay there.

An Absolutely Exceptional Stay -- Silver Sands Is Something Special…read more My wife and I spent three days at Silver Sands celebrating our 31st wedding anniversary, and although this was our first visit, it certainly will not be our last. From the moment we arrived until the moment we left, the experience was exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. What impressed us most was how incredibly organized, attentive, and welcoming everyone was without ever being intrusive. It was almost as if the staff had mastered the art of being there exactly when you needed something, while somehow remaining nearly invisible the rest of the time. That level of service is very difficult to achieve, and Silver Sands does it beautifully. The property itself is immaculate. The grounds are meticulously maintained while still allowing the natural beauty of the surroundings to remain part of the experience. The private beach was spotless, peaceful, and beautifully organized. Throughout the day, we would notice staff quietly moving through, straightening and maintaining everything, yet they were so unobtrusive you could barely tell it was happening. The attention to detail throughout Silver Sands is remarkable. From the design and atmosphere of the property to the pour-over coffee in the room, the thoughtfully selected shampoos and conditioners, linens, amenities, and overall cleanliness -- everything feels intentional. Our room was absolutely impeccable. Silver Sands somehow manages to capture the nostalgia and charm of the classic American motel while feeling modern, sophisticated, and luxurious at the same time. Calling it a "motel" almost doesn't do it justice. It is a truly unique property that can easily rival some of the best hotels and resorts we've stayed at. And then there are Eddie's and Nookie's! Both onsite restaurants were fantastic. The staff and service were wonderful, and everything we ate was top-notch. We left already talking about coming back so we can try more of the menu. Over our 31 years together, my wife and I have been fortunate enough to travel to many beautiful and far-off destinations. Yet there were moments during our stay at Silver Sands when we genuinely felt transported somewhere else entirely -- certainly not like we were still on Long Island, and at times not even like we were anywhere in the United States. It has a special atmosphere that is difficult to describe until you experience it yourself. Thank you to the entire Silver Sands team, as well as everyone at Eddie's and Nookie's, for making our 31st anniversary one of our most memorable, relaxing, and enjoyable staycations. You helped make an already special occasion even more special. We arrived as first-time guests and left knowing we'll be back and bringing others to experience what we had. Thank you again, Silver Sands. See you all soon!
