[[HIGHLIGHT]]Bazille is a nice location. It's ambience is clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was prompt and professional. We never wanted for anything. There is one exceptional call out for the food. The Niçoise salad is a beautiful and unexpected salad with a fusion of chimichurri, traditional flavors, delicious salmon, and deliciously cooked fingerling style potatoes. This salad was worth the trip and we'd return just for this! It was such an interesting and delicious fusion! We also had the fish and chips which was traditionally prepared with a side of delicious fries. The fries were not really British style of chips but a signature style for the restaurant which was very nice. The fish was perfectly cooked and delicious as well. The side of slaw was light, refreshing, and delicious on a bed of lettuce. Exactly what you'd want with the heavier fried fish. There are a few things that hold this place back and may ultimately seal its fate in closure. They have nothing to do with the food or service which was very good as noted above. This review if 5 yelp stars for good reason. But, if Bazille wants to survive and thrive it may want to consider some modifications in concert with the Nordstrom store itself. This isn't really about the prices. They were not out of line for local dining of similar far. However, in a department store setting you want the dining experience to be a loss leader / lead magnet to get shoppers in and keep them longer. And, inside there should be SOME link to the store. Why did no one offer to help me find the purse my wife was shopping for that day? Why was there not a thank you coupon for dining good only for this visit (kind of like parking validation but for shopping). We were not offered a coffee or tea. For the fee this would cost nearly nothing an make the upscale Nordstrom experience, which we LOVE, all the better. The franchise is leaving a lot off the table here and there's no reason economically. Why are the sales people on the floor not offering a free desert to try out the restaurant? I think you get my point by now. The experience is disconnected from the Nordstrom experience. Much more can be done. The experience, and it is meant to be an experience like the Nordstrom experience. It does fall a little short there. Look at Restoration Hardware's efforts. You literally sit in their furniture which you could purchase on the spot if you wanted; for example. You dine on their dishes... etc. Back to the prices. I could go to any restaurant nearby for similar prices and fare. So, subsidizing with accoutrements or just money would fill the seats. The place is nice. The staff is nice. It's just bolted on the side as an after thought and that may be its undoing over time. That would be a shame because the intent is clearly something more. read more

Last time I tried Bazille, it had just opened and quite frankly, I wasn't a fan of the offerings (I love Spanish tapas, but they just missed the mark with that one). I was happy to see a different menu that play to their strengths, so my family and I came in for lunch on a weekend. I was surprised at how delicious the crab bisque was! The artichoke dip was also great. My husband got the burger-- nothing special. The halibut and chips were great. Wasn't too oily! Our server was really nice and helpful with the kiddos. A solid option for lunch or dinner as you shop. Biggest complaint is how expensive it is. $19+ for a burger? It should be fantastic. read more

I have never dined at Bazille. I had heard many years ago that Nordstrom was opening a restaurant at the Corte Madera store, but I never had the need to check it out. Recently, while shopping, I had that need. I was watching a 6 year old for the day and the little became hungry NOW. Bazille was right there, tucked behind racks of clothes in the very back of the second floor. We took a chance and went in. Our young guest enjoyed her grilled cheese and tomato soup kids entree, while my friend and I shared the roasted turkey and avocado club sandwich. It was made with fresh sliced country bread, accompanied by a tasty side of Kalamata olive aioli. All the ingredients tasted fresh, and I'm still craving the salt and pepper crush French fries. Tastes or WasteY? Totally tastes!!!! I have been coming to this restaurant for over 12 years. We first discovered it when we lived in St. Louis. Although the service is different everywhere we go, the food never lets me down. The calamari is amazing. I always have the light lime, cilantro salad, and I add shrimp . Our favorite one was located in San Francisco, but unfortunately it is now closed. So we tried the one in Corte Madera. The food was amazing... Not so much the waiter that waited on us. But I'm going to give him a pass because the salad is great. I would highly recommend. read more

I thought after a couple years, this restaurant had its act together. Unfortunately not. Made a reservation. Waited by the door at the time reserved. Nobody came. After 7 1/2 minutes and another customer had arrived and was wondering where the host or hostess was, I decided to walk into the restaurant and look for somebody to seat us. There was one server running around, trying to take orders and serve. Place was half empty. Time, Noon. The time was ticking away. No host or hostess. That's OK. I said "is it OK to sit here," pointing to the table. She nodded, yes. I sat and waited. My guest arrived. We sat. There was nobody to serve us. So after a while we graciously left. About 15-20 minutes. That's plenty of enough time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself needs a complete makeover. It looks like 1987. I would offer a bit of advice...if you are raising the price pls do not cut back on the size of the salad. I'll have to look back to a previous photo. I love that Nordstrom offers food options in an elegant setting. Bazille took over from Blue Stove and offers a variety of food options. We came here on a Sunday evening and enjoyed a meal and some drinks. To start our meal, we went for their heirloom tomatoes with burrata and their kung pao brussel sprouts. Both items were highlights of our meal. The brussel sprouts had a unique take on the dish, with a sweet, savory dish that also had a slight kick to it. The burrata was well done, and paired quite well with the other dishes as well. Unfortunately while we were there, they were out of their steak options so I couldn't give it a try. However, I still had a chance to enjoy their halibut and chips. The portion size was a bit smaller than I'd like, but aside from that the fish was decently battered and had a good aioli to pair with it. However nothing about the dish was particularly impressive. My family members also had the crab, mango, and avocado salad which had a light and refreshing dressing to pair with the rich ingredients. Our last dish was a scallops entree which was well cooked but once again with lackluster flavor. Our meal was mostly solid in regards to the food, but unfortunately the service didn't quite meet the standards. My wife and I had reservations here on a Saturday afternoon and we brought our two toddlers. Despite there being only 5 occupied tables in a restaurant with 25+ tables, it took 5-10 for us to be greeted when we arrived. Then, we were seated and again noticed how empty the restaurant was, but waited another 5-10 minutes until we had to hail someone to ask if our server would be coming. Again, we were perplexed as to why it was taking so long for any service in a nearly empty restaurant. We finally ordered our food. My wife ordered the baby gem Caesar salad with medium steak. When her meal arrived, the meat was well done and it had a very "off" taste to it. We ordered the tortellini and grilled cheese sandwich for my toddlers. My children wouldn't eat the food so I tried each of them and the grilled cheese was barely passable and served cold. The tortellini was very unimpressive too. The food was mediocre and the service was absolutely atrocious. This is a glorified cafeteria. I wouldn't eat here unless you're starving during a marathon shopping trip in Nordstrom and you can't walk the 20 steps to Boudin across the way. read more

Came here on Saturday for dinner and I ordered their burger cooked medium well. After I got home I started suffering from symptoms of food poisoning. It was so bad! This was the only thing I ate so I knew it had to be the burger. Idk how you guys prepared your food or if the burger was undercooked but this is bad guys. A full bar and tasteful wine selections are available to enhance your dining if needed. But the Chef has it going on with a spot on menu of well prepared dishes like the sweet n spicy brussel sprouts with chicken sausage we started with, a creamy elegant crab bisque and the salmon nicoise salad with mixed greens spiked with fingerling potatoes, kalamata olives, capers with a dijon vinaigrette dressing. There are no S&P or condiments tableside so just ask for what you need. Many other tasteful apps, salads, sandos and entrees round out the menu as well as the chefs salad dressings and pasta sauces are available in jars to go. So this place sits on the top of Nordstrom and to my surprise it isn't bad at all. My favorite thing to order here are the cilantro lime chicken tacos! Hello!!! These things are taco Tuesday ready and are finger licking good. Perfect snack, small meal or appetizer it fits all areas of your appetite! I usually do a double order because two tacos come in each. It's piled with ground chicken a cilantro lime sauce, cheese, yellow/red peppers and chopped lettuce. So if you're in the mood for some Holiday shopping and you want a bite to eat check them out! The service at Bazille is pretty good mimicking the customer service you'd expect from a sales associate at Nordstrom. Last but not least they have pretty good drinks! Being a little generous- I believe more in line with a 3.5- ordered the Brussel sprouts, burrata salad, calamari and the turkey bean and crab bisque soups along with the deviled eggs. Portions aren't huge but enough for two people to split. The soups were Delicious, all salads were very tasty with ample dressings - the calamari was small in portion but nicely fried but the deviled eggs were straight out for the fridge and not creamy at all. They were also very hard in consistency with little to no flavor. The service was great and the place is clean. Very convenient when you are shopping to pop in and have a quick bite. Like the food but the coffee is always cold and the "cream" is only milk. Nordstrom is such a high end store so why don't they have an expresso machine and offer REAL cream? I've always loved Nordstrom's signature restaurants! Always consistent. But this time I was disappointed in that they didn't have any bread and butter to serve because they said they ran out. I'm sorry but this is weird and just not cool. Many people still consider bread and butter a mainstay and a Nordstrom's serves the best. Irregardless the rest of our meal was in point! I brought my friend here for her birthday lunch. We were seated promptly. It was a lovely atmosphere with a fresh and seasonal menu. We ordered salads, both were delicious! Had a few items that we loved and that remains on the new menu . The salad was as good as always , it looked gorgeous, only complaint , croutons were really burnt , black , too hard to cut and really not good to eat charred food . The mini chicken cilantro tacos , were delicious & the crab bisque also very good . We asked for tapenade , as they stopped serving olives w the bread , but that never showed . We also asked to modify the sandwich & it was noted , but the kitchen failed to modify it . This restaurant needs a shot in the arm . It's has a feeling of failure . Something seems to not be clicking . The hostess did greet us and sat us quickly . But the lunch took longer then it should have . We did crave this place when it was the last concept . 2 stars for the friendly service and food I usually get. Ordered 2 tacos for takeout, said it would take 15-20min. No problem. What upset me the most is that I ordered two tacos, a lady ordered her takeout AFTER me (I saw the takeout orders layed out on the hostess desk in the order of being received) and she left before me. While shopping on Black Friday we noticed the restaurant in Nordstrom changed, so this week we (group of 6) decided to try it out. Came right after they opened, very friendly staff working there. Sat down quickly and was served on fairly quickly too. Very nice waiter, took good care of us. We loved the brick oven Brussels sprout and calamari, a must try! Devils egg is pretty good too. For main course, we ordered salmon, steak, seared scallops and Home made chicken sausage. All were excellent except the steak which was cooked way too dry. Gotta try the crab with mango and avocado salad! Very very tasty! Overall a great experience dinning here. We will be back for sure! read more

The steak was cooked excellent, the Kale is a dark leafy green, potatoes were really good and I'm thinking the Romesco sauce had a few too many flavors going on for me. It's a nice small plate! Do not come here unless you have a lot of time. Every single time I have eaten here on breaks, it takes forever to get a server's attention, to get food, etc. They have some great dishes, but also some poor dishes.
