This is the bistro located on the second floor of Nordstrom Corte Madera. I've come here a few times and I always enjoy the experience! It's a great place just to get a small bite, yet there are entrees too. Try the tomato burrata and also the fresh salads like the Asian chicken salad. The crab bisque was rich and creamy. For dessert, I suggest the maple apple cobbler with vanilla ice cream; what a treat! The service was good and it's nice to be able to use your Nordstrom notes here, as well. read more

Service and food were terrible. I ordered a cup of soup and the salmon nicoise salad which I have had in the past. The manager/waiter was quick to take the order and he brought my tea and the soup right away. However, I then became the invisible women. I could not get his attention and after 15 minutes of waiting he said, "what else did you order?" 5 minutes later he brought me the salad with undercooked salmon and very wilted greens. I asked for it to be grilled a bit more and after 5 more minutes the salad came back even more wilted with a broken piece of salmon on it. There were two pieces of hard boiled egg, one was missing the yolk, there were 2 green beans, 1/3 cup of onions, and about 60 capers. Not even the right recipe. At that point I tried to get his attention but he never turned toward me again. I ate about half of the salad and then tried to get the check. I had to stand up and put on my coat and it took 3 more minutes for anyone to notice me. When a woman brought my check I told her that the salad was terrible however, she did not offer to take it off the check and walked away. She sent another person back for me to sign the check and the man had vanished. I just gave up and paid it but I am super annoyed and can't ever go back there. It was awful in so many ways and I wasted $38 and an hour on this dreadful lunch. read more

We come to Bazille pretty regularly and have not been disappointed once! Prior to it being Bazille it was The Blue Stove which served all small plates. We fell in love with small plates like the Cilantro Lime Chicken Tacos which they have retained. I think we ate the menu and found fault with none of it! Tonight I had the Seared Scallops and she had the Salmon Niçoise Salad. I thought the Niçoise Salad is one of the best! The Skirt Steak and Romesco is my favorites! Nordstrom's trying to make a high quality restaurant to draw people in. On several levels, they have succeeded. The restaurant is modern and well decorated, although we could do without the robo trance music). It is a nice place to unwind, and worth trying. Staff is friendly and generally responsive. In a somewhat bizarre twist, you have to ask for salt and pepper. Chefs are highly trained and try to present good, visually attractive food. One of the chefs whom we spoke to, Beverly, is very excited to try to create high quality food. Salads are very lightly dressed, well-flavored, and good portions. Crab salad and Caesar salad use very fresh locally sourced vegetables and fresh ingredients. Caesar salad had freshly grilled chicken, and crab salad was fresh crab. Both salads came with a crispy garnish (Parmesan crisps on the Caesar and bread crisps on the crab salad). Hamburger (patty melt) missed slightly. Served on a light rye bread. It was not cooked as ordered, and beef did not have true seared taste. Aioli sauce (ketchup and mayonnaise) also had olive taste. If you like olives, you may like this, we don't, and didn't. Onions were caramelized and good. Appetizers generally were very good--the tomatoes with burrata and basil and the tacos (somewhat small) were both truly fresh and had good taste. Tacos had fresh chicken and cilantro The maple bacon eggs were just okay. Ice tea is good. The restaurant has an extended happy hour and you can save some money before 8 pm. read more

I am surprised, to say the least. From the moment we walked in we were made very welcome. Service was spot on. The Chef brought our food to us. With the best smile, he was so nice. Made my day. The food was very good and very well priced. The wine list was fairly priced and good selection for lunch. Everything was super yummy!!! We had the brussel sprouts, calamari, cilantro lime shrimp salad (my favorite), and the patty melt. The atmosphere is pretty good, relaxed, and private. I like that it feels like a good restaurant to go to when you're tired out from a long day of shopping. Oh! And the chocolat mousse cake is sooooo delicious. UNinspiring. Blue Stove was one of my two favorite restaurants in Marin. Perfect for a midday shopping lunch or destination dinner. Farm fresh perfection. Portion size perfect! NEVER had one bad meal. Bazille ...... OPPOSITE. Over salted and still without flavor. Dishes uninspiring. To expensive for the quality and the food is heavy. On shopping trips of past you could wander through Nordstrom making purchases,stop get a bite to eat at Blue Stove and continue to shop on the way out. Now, after eating at Bazille, all you want to do is race home and take a nap after eating (not from eating to much but food that is to heavily paired) This seems the opposite of what Nordstrom would be trying to promote. To heavy for lunch and inferior quality for destination dinners. All that is good about this restaurant are the friendly servers and the fact that it is in Nordstrom's. In the future I will shop in Nordstrom and dine elsewhere. Out with the new and in with the old .......bring back Blue Stove! read more

Same exact menu as the Nordstrom bistro Café. The most hideous interior design, I can't believe Nordstrom spent millions remodeling the building and created a restaurant that looks like it's 20 years old. Food was just okay, you're better off at Boca or Cheesecake Factory. They missed an incredible opportunity to set their restaurant apart from the rest of the mall, but instead ended up with a space hidden behind racks of clothing with ugly interior and an old menu. I had dinner at Bazille with a group of colleagues last night. Everyone in my group of 7 raved about their food. I had a crab bisque for starters, followed by their lobster mac and cheese. My colleagues kept casting covetous eyes at it, because its aroma permeated the area. The staff, from the maitre d' to the waitress to the person clearing the dishes, were friendly and attentive without being obtrusive. The only reason I haven't given Bazille 5 stars is its location, hidden away on the top floor of Nordstrom's. In a more visible location, this restaurant would a slam-dunk success. read more

When I entered there were very few people there. The hostess was very friendly and seated me right away. The waiter was terrible! She took my order then disappeared! I waited forever (at least 10-15 mins) and still no food. I was watching the cooks from my seat and they were having a good time laughing and taking their sweet time.....yes, I was very hungry :( . My wife and I ate at Bazille yesterday at Nordstrums. Don't know if it was a bad day or what but the service was awful​. We told the waiter we were in a bit of a rush so just wanted soup ... 25 munites later they brought us water! 35 minutes... the hostess saw us and asked what the problem was ... I​ told her...she went to the kitchen ... 10 more minutes we got our soup... Decided to try this restaurant after a long day of shopping. I dined a few days after Christmas on 12/27. I ordered lighter bite items to assess the food: Caesar salad and cilantro lime chicken tacos. I was very disappointed at how over salted both items were prepared. On top of that was a sour puss server who seemed to care less about Customer Service at all. Needless to say, I won't be returning to try any other menu items. read more

Just tried this new Bazille. It was delicious. I think that the location in Nordstrom is not so good, you wouldn't even know it is there. It is a bit sedate. They messed up with the windows, beautiful Mount Tam is hidden while dining. The food was super, prices good. Service friendly. Great place while shopping at the Village. Just an idea, have some lively music or fresh flowers to cheer the restaurant up! Will be back! read more

I've been to this place many times before, and never had a problem until today.. The service was horrible!! It was around 3:30 pm and nobody was in the restaurant except for one table. We sat down and the waitress came and asked what we would like to get started. We put in an order for calamari and two glasses of water. And she said "okay I'll be right back".. except, she brought us water and then never came back! Another waitress from a different section stopped by and asked "have you guys been helped?!" Even she noticed that we were being ignored and nobody came to take our order.. plus, the restaurant was not busy at all!! We waited for about 15 minutes and no one came.. I had to get up and cancel the order and just left.. the waitress was just standing there and didn't even bother to check in on us.. and never said she was sorry, or asked what was wrong.. I'm hoping this would just be an isolated incident but I'm hesitant to come back to this place. (Don't know the waitress name, she never introduced herself, but she has blonde hair and wears glasses) read more

We have eaten here twice and both times it has been fantastic. They have an extensive menu and you will be hard-pressed not to find something enjoyable. The restaurant is spacious and inviting and comfortable. The calamari appetizer is one of the best I've ever had. We also had the gnocchi And two wonderful salads. Had dinner at Bazille on a Saturday evening. Reservation was not required. We intended on eating at Blue Stove, which previously occupied this space. It was one of our favorites, so we immediately were disappointed. However, we decided to give Bazille a try. We were seated immediately, and our waitress showed up at our table within a couple of minutes to take our drink order. She also asked us what we wanted to eat. We said we needed some more time. Time we got. The drinks, a martini and a mocktail, didn't arrive for 15 minutes. During that time we asked our waitress twice to check on them; however, she did not seem to be in any rush to get the drinks to our table. Finally, we asked for a manager and he got the drinks to us quickly. Our waitress gave us attitude the rest of the night. Our "small plates" came quickly -- the roasted brussels sprouts were delicious, but the burrata salad was overdressed and uninspiring, with only two little blobs of burrata on the plate. The deviled eggs were good, but nothing special. My husband has a roasted chicken salad, which he said was "ok," and I had a very dull patty melt. All in all, unforgettable. We won't be returning. Two friends and I have met for shopping at Nordstrom and lunch at Blue Stove once a week for years and loved that we could get and share small plates. The salads were great and tomato soup the best, with friendly staff and good service. We have tried Bazille 3 times and nope, not working for us. Yes there are some small plates but you got rid of the best salads, tomato soup. gnocchis (new gnocchi dish is weird), etc. I assume Blue Stove was not profitable since price points on small plates are under $10 and we rarely ordered more than 3 plates to share. So instead of $25. per person for lunch it would be $15. or less. Blue Stove was our favorite meeting place for lunch and really good for dinner too. We won't be coming back to Bazille. Good luck - I think you are going to need it. read more

Inside Nordstrom. This used to Blue Stone or Oven Grill. And it was quite good. After the name change I've been really underwhelmed. Last visit it was very very empty at happy hour time on a Thursday. And I can see why. The menu did not change from the old name. Nothing inventive or new. The decor is very dark and kinda dirty feeling. Almost like it's out of date. But the place is new...the food was pretty gross. The chicken skewers were dark meat that was gamey and too chewy. The sauce it came with was plopped on the plate and looked like dirty peanut butter. The sweet potato fries were ok. But it seems like we got the bottom of the barrel batch. Teeny tiny pieces that resembled crumbs instead of fries. A favorite was always the mini chicken tacos. This time they were so bad. Greasy fatty ground chicken bits in a mini over fried taco shell. We didn't finish anything we got. I think the kitchen needs some quality control. I give two stars for convenience, service was so so but they do have a full bar. read more

Today was our 2nd time, the first was exceptional, today not so good. The initial server did not explain the difference between the bistro club and the blackened chicken sandwiches correctly, said both were chicken breasts which the bistro is not. Ordered bowl of soup and asked for some bread , was told it was still in the oven and this was st 5:30 p.m. I ordered the French dip, when it arrived the dip in the bowl was stone cold, there was no one checking on our order so I had to walk up to counter to have it heated. They said they would bring it over to the table which took 10 minutes at which time the sandwich was cold. The original server never reappeared, the replacement sever was preoccupied, never connected with us. We had to ask for a box twice. The bistro sandwich was mediocre, not as good as our first visit. So disappointing! First off the service was extremely slow. Our waiter disappeared and we were waiting for our check for about 30 min! I got up and asked the hostess for our check but still we continued to wait. Then the end all be all, I came down with horrible food poisoning from the chicken tacos! We dined at the recently-rebranded Bazille last night and it was fantastic! We really liked the Blue Stove restaurant that was there before, but this is a major improvement. They now have a full bar, with great cocktails (according to my husband) and a decent wine list. What was most notable was the food. The crab bisque is OUT OF THIS WORLD! I would go back just for the crab bisque (and I plan to!). The kung pao Brussels sprouts were delicious and the deviled eggs were perfect. We also enjoyed the tacos and burrata (items they thankfully kept from their old menu). I really can't recommend this spot enough! We also were very impressed with the reasonable tab we received after sharing 5 small plates and a cocktail. read more

So when I first walked in we were greeted with such kindness and all of the above. The woman sat us with a great view of mt. Tam. The wait staff was amazing! The waitress introduced herself and recommended cocktails and the soup of the day. I ordered a vine street cocktail(which I have now tried to make at home but it doesn't compare!) and my husband ordered his wine. I had to give their crab bisque a whirl and I almost licked the last of the cup! Next came our entrees, the pasta for my husband(I tried a couple bites and that's phenomenal with the burrata) and for myself was the French dip. Let me tell you I can tell that dish is made with a lot of love...I will come back just for that delicious sandwich. And we can't forget about the chocolate cake.
