I ordered an açaí bowl, and when it was handed to me, the employee at the counter stated that the bowl was smaller because he "didn't blend enough açaí." That immediately raised concern because I paid for a full order and expected to receive what was advertised and purchased. When I brought up that this was not what I ordered, the employee was dismissive and unfriendly. There was no effort made to correct the issue, offer a solution, or provide proper customer service. The interaction left me feeling ignored and disappointed with the overall experience. Came here after a hike with my husband, mother in law, and my son. Cute little place. I enjoyed seeing the artwork they have up. Worker was nice and helpful. I got the Hawaiian smoothie. My husband got the tropical passion smoothie. My mother in law got the green juice. I didn't try my husbands or my mother in laws drink. They did say they enjoyed it. I thought my drink was okay. For the type of fruit that was used and sweetener in my drink it wasn't sweet and tasted bland. I couldn't really taste the fruit that was in the smoothie. I make smoothies at home with fresh fruit similar to these. I typically don't add any sweetener and mine come out pretty sweet with flavor. Honestly, I am usually really excited to eat açai I had ordered the basic bowl and went with a few of my friends. First, they had forgotten my order which I dismissed because I was hoping it was going to be really good but when I tried the açai, it was the complete opposite. Delicious! I gobbled up my acai bowl so fast. This place is kinda hidden in a small shopping area. The employees are so nice! You can customize your own bowl and ask for the acai raw with no added sugar. They also have pitaya. If you feel overwhelmed you can just get one of their already customized bowls and substitute any topping. My favorite is the beach boys acai bowl with blueberries, bananas, mangoes, almonds, honey and chips seeds. I usually substitute the almonds for cacao nibs and then add peanut butter. Very kind service- but people should know to go elsewhere! Firstly, I am allergic to almonds, so I asked to remove them and get something else instead! I was told okay, but later realized I was charged $1.00. I brought it to her attention, and after saying that is how we do it- I told her I understand but would have gotten another bowl then. I ordered during COVID & called in for take out. They respected social distancing inside & had my bowl ready in 5 minutes. I know the business is amazing when it compels me to write a yelp review-- they deserve all the praise. I go back and forth between Ventura and Oahu and being an Acai connoisseur I've been to most, if not all acai places in my areas. bb Acai is not only a friendly and welcoming atmosphere, but their acai bowls are absolutely top tier and without a doubt the best I've had. When i crave acai, i crave bb acai. Their granola alone is a real treat-- it's seriously so good. Every ingredient you can taste the quality from the honey, to the fruit, and especially the acai. I normally love this place because their pink show smoothie is my favorite smoothie in town but today the service was disappointing. I ordered a smoothie at 9:27 am and i got the smoothie at 10:07. There was no one else in the store. I waited 40 minutes for a smoothie even tho there were no other orders. While i was waiting, I could hear the guy working cleaning, going to the bathroom, and he even came out to grab something while he talked on the phone. Eventually he came out and said "hello" to me and tried to take my order AGAIN as if he hadn't taken my order 40 minutes ago. I've been coming here for a while now and it's one of my favorite places to get an açaí bowl. The staff is always friendly and the place is super clean and welcoming. The bowls are great and my wife and I pretty much get the Black Belt every single time. We like them so much we've been ordering the larger 24 and 32oz sizes, which brings me to an observation I'd like to make and has been shared by another reviewer. As we've been ordering the larger sizes we've noticed lately that it doesn't appear to yield larger bowls, especially when ordering the 32oz. I hope this is a one time occurrence as we believe the prices and the quality of the acai bowls are justified. When you're willing to spend the extra money to get more of a great item, it's a bit disappointing when you feel that you haven't received what you've paid for. We will continue to support this great business but I hope that more attention to their orders will be addressed as loyal customers who are willing to spend the extra money will get extra value. read more
