So I used to get the Sassy B from D'Lush back in the day when it still existed and I've always wondered how they got their strawberries and banana shakes to be so perfectly creamy, but still exude that burst of flavor from both fruits that we know and love... Fast forward to one evening, some friends and I decide to bust a mission to Venture to get Blenders (because why not?) and I ordered the Tropical Guava and subbed frozen yogurt for ICE MILK! BAYYYYBEEEEE. This is where it's at. My friend was raving at how great Blenders was and I was perplexed because living in LA, we have a plethora of smoothie spots up the yin-yang, what could possibly make this place so special? I AM NOT TOO PROUD TO ADMIT I WAS WRONG. The ice milk here makes a difference in the smoothies. I'm not sure if it's actually CRACK, but it is delectable!!! Surprised I had not already reviewed Blender's so here I am! I was previously very loyal to Jamba Juice, but since they are no longer available in the area, I have turned to Blenders and can't say I'm sorry about it. I still love Jamba, but there is a different feeling I get when drinking Blenders that I can't quite put into words...I am absolutely obsessed with their "original" flavor. I keep saying I am going ti try another flavor but I don't because the original is so good! Everything always tastes super fresh and The staff are always very friendly and I enjoy the free boosts that they offer. Their prices are also surprisingly more affordable then Jamba Juice as well. Went to my favorite blenders and got my favorite smoothie. Near the end of the drink I noticed something at the bottom of the cup. Thinking it was a chunk of fruit, I took off the lid to finish it off. You can imagine the shock I felt when chunks of plastic cascaded with the remainder of my smoothie into my mouth. It looked like a cap from a juice container. What really grossed me out is that there is clearly bits of plastic missing from the cap that weren't in the bottom of the cup. Hopefully they didn't make it out of blender... would hate to think about drinking up bits of plastic through the straw. Really disappointed in this. read more

By far my preferred smoothie chain. I've always loved their peanut butter smoothie but their fruit offerings are also very good if you're in the mood for those. Here I got a 24oz peanut butter with added whey protein which had a nice creamy mouthfeel and nutty flavor without being overly heavy. If protein powder isn't your deal they have plenty of other toppings to choose from. While a bit pricy, it is worth it for me when I'm craving a smoothie. read more

What is up with the false bottoms in the cups? This is very disappointing. The large size cup isn't very large in actuality.

Located on Main Street, this Blenders in the Grass is a great place to grab a healthy smoothie, drink, and/or açaí bowl. They had dairy-free, gluten-free, and plant based options. Our visit was on a late morning Saturday. We were the only customers inside but there were people already seated on the patio out front. The interior of the store was clean and well organized. There was no interior seating, only patio seating. We ordered the Recovery smoothie and the Açaí Energy. Both were modified. We were able to customize our smoothies, by adding and subtracting ingredients. Customer service was friendly, patient, and accommodating. The girls working even confirmed that our smoothies were to be dairy-free. (Thanks, ladies!) Our smoothies were ready quickly and were delicious and lite. I particularly enjoyed my Açaí Energy. It was sweet and fluffy. The only thing missing here was the parking. As with most businesses in the area, street parking and city lots are the options. read more

Came here today for the first time to grab a quick shake on my way to a day full of errands. Upon walking in I was greeted with a very friendly hello, and the girl told me upfront about vegan options on a special menu. I hadn't even told her I was vegan yet! She helped me pick out a shake, and it was so delicious! They have a really great selection of green smoothies as well as the chocolate and peanut butter and plant based milk types. I also asked if they had any vegan snack items and she pointed out the Ivan bars. The shop itself was clean and well lit. Prices are very fair. Seems a lot healthier and less sugary than Jamba or some of the other shake and smoothie places. Also, they sell a stainless steel straw kit in the store! Great place for a quick smoothie. I usually get their Blue Pomegranate, but next time I go I'm planning to try the Recovery smoothie. I usually stop in after I've swam my mile at the YMCA right around the corner, so I bet the Recovery might help my energy level. This was one of the more disappointing Blenders orders. Came in as a group of 30 so maybe that was why but 5+ of our orders came out wrong. Wasn't a problem at the UCSB Blenders so this was unexpected. Additionally, when notified of the error in the orders, they said we had to wait for the current queue to empty before they can remake it, which would be another 15 orders or so.
