They gave about 8 pieces of wings and it was sumptuous . Was about 15-16$ .. was slightly expensive . I wish they sold less pieces for less money .. say - 5 piece for 10$ .. One good thing was - they had multiple options for wings . Less spicy , medium and more spicy ones . We got spicy Galbi and it was so good . Hot spicy sauce was good too. This location of bb.q Chicken was fine. I've had the fried chicken wings (obviously) once before, and they were pretty good, with a decent flavor and lots of crunch. The tteokbokki (pictured) was a bit underwhelming however. It was very heavy, smothered in cheese, and had virtually no spice or distinct flavor to speak of. The rice cakes were also a bit too soft/mushy for my liking. Maybe it's my fault for ordering a dish that isn't wings from a wing place, but I was hoping for more with this particular option. I was near this location and decided to buy some pieces, when I got home it was barely cooked, and the meat was dark brown, chicken doesn't look like that, and ok if one looks brownish I can turn my head to the side, but all of them!! Have been to the Koreatown location only with pre-cooked chicken boxes in the warmer, ready to be picked up vs. cooked-to-order at this location, which I prefer. I did an online order when I was about 10min away and it was ready when we got there. Soy garlic Chicken wings are cooked well, skin is still crunchy, strong garlicky flavor, but for me, a bit too much sauce. I guess I can specify less sauce next time. Would return to try their spicy chicken. I previously had the bbq signature rice bowl. Was a big bowl of rice, chicken, egg but I didn't really like the Jamaican jerk sauce. Honestly, 4 stars for the food and decor. Very good and the wings are much larger and incredibly juicy compared to other chains like Bonchon. Also, I was pleasantly surprised by the fries. The cheese tteokbokki was pretty good, but the egg was slightly odd looking and there weren't as many rice cakes as I would've liked, but still very tasty. The interior is very fresh looking, but the layout is honestly not very conducive towards what I assume is a mostly takeout business. Knocked it down one star because of the long wait. I think there must be some issues on the back end. We had originally came during the Super Bowl, and they were about an hour and a half behind. That's alright, totally understandable, but my friend and I still wanted chicken so we came a few days later. It still took 30 minutes to get our order! I will say this place has good vibes. Music playing ( a little loud for lunch) they also have 5 tvs, 3 were on programming. Bar table seating downstairs and regular table seating upstairs. Man I love kbbq korean fried chicken. When I saw a location opened up near me, I thought "now I don't need to go all the way to ktown to get my fix." In terms of convience, speed and flavor variety they can't be beat. If you live in kips bay and always wanted to try korean fried chicken but never had a chance now is the time. Yes, you read correct; your leftovers will still be crunchy. My personal favorite flavors are the honey garlic (if you like garlic a lot like me it's a must try. "40 cloves of garlic isn't enough" people this one is for you.) and the kalbi (korean sweet bbq rib flavor). Honey garlic flavor tastes more like garlic than honey. It has some subtle hints of sweetness and I would say is probably more savoury. The kalbi is pretty sweet. I'm assuming they use the rib marinade as the sauce. It's going to sound strange but if you like ribs and fried chicken the kalbi flavor is like both rolled into one. I can't really speak much about service. It's always been a casual, quick grab and go for me. You got your boneless option and the classic bone in. I'm lazy so I always go for boneless here. Be me, 24M amateur fat@$$ that has been craving fried chicken for the past two weeks. I share my cravings with a coworker and they share the same feeling. We notice a BBQ chicken nearby. I've eaten from this chain before during my early years into puberty. I don't know if it was something in the sauce or if my hormones were bursting in reaction to the chicken but I was loving it. I would vacuum the meat off the bones and then suck the sauce that was embedded in-between the ridges of my fingerprints. But like any first love... the passion died off. The days inbetween my BBQ chicken visits have grown to weeks, to months, and then to years. As Korean Fried Chicken became more trendy, other flashier shops with crispier, spicier, more flavorful chicken started popping up. I started eating from there... and eventually forgot that BBQ chicken even existed. Fast forward 10+ years: I am frozen, staring at the google maps where the name BBQ chicken popped up. I had by chance bumped into a past lover that I had lost touch with, and the world seemed to move on around me while we were locked into a gaze. Lunch time hits and I make my way to the restaurant. I am nervous but my legs speed up in anticipation. As I approach, I cant contain my smile, I couldn't wait to catch up and see what has been going on through the years with the franchise. I open the door and my excited smile changes to a nervous smile. My old love, throughout the years, has changed into something unrecognizable. Their menu had changed drastically which I can understand as keeping up with the times but, it felt inauthentic and just a mediocre attempt at following fried chicken trends... But I still had hope, "outside appearance might have changed, but surely their flavors will deliver." That's what I thought... As soon as I picked up the bag from my order, there was this strong plasticy scent that emitted from the box. The walk back to the office felt 3 times as long as it did getting to the restaurant. As I get back to my desk, I timidly unbox the chicken to start eating... Visually, its what you would expect saucy Korean Fried Chicken to look like. But that plastic scent only grew stronger as I exposed the chicken. I take my first bite. My tongue as well as the inside of my mouth burn, not out of sensation but out of a chemical reaction to what I can guess is causing the plasticy scent. My teeth pierce the overly thick, overly heavy layer of fried batter to reach the meat. The only flavor I can focus on is the plastic, its in my mouth, its in my throat, I taste and smell it when I breathe. I wonder where it all went so wrong. I had revered BBQ Chicken so much in memory, but seeing it in reality left nothing but disappointment. a couple weeks later, I got a message from my old high school sweetheart asking to meet up. We were inseparable when we were together, but that changed after we were accepted to different colleges on the opposite sides of the country. At first I was ecstatic to catch up, but how will we live up to the memories of each other that we have idealized. Ohhhh so good! Very different concept of ordering your food. You first walk in to a display with different variety of choices. You're able to pick out your own choices while the display still keeps the food warm! Then you just ring at the cash register. This location is specifically my favorite as the other locations are not so great in my opinion. Worth every penny! read more

I would say this bb.q is fresher on average than the bb.q in Koreatown. It is usually pretty empty so seats are much more easy to come by. They don't have the chicken already prepared in the public space so you order it and they will take about 7 to 10 minutes. I'm not sure how much they make it to order but it definitely tastes fresher. If you get the chicken with rice, they give you better and more eggs than the one in ktown. Only complaint is that it's not as crispy as the one in ktown for some reason. I'm wondering if maybe they don't fry it as long as the one in ktown. Otherwise I'd give it 5 stars read more

Good for the chain to expand. This location is not as crispy as the one at 34th. They give a lot more meat and less batter. The one at 34th might be crispier but some pieces don't have any chicken in them at all. So if I had to pick between the two this new location is pretty good. The chicken pieces are huge. One downside is that you don't really get to have all the flavors you want since there aren't as many customers at this location. Staff is nice. Not the overly selling type and also not rude.
