My friend and I recently stumbled upon bb.q Chicken Castleton when looking for a dinner spot. We were pleasantly surprised by how good the food was. We got serviced very quickly for a Friday evening. It wasn't too busy and it was right before closing. The waitress was quite lovely and gave us good service and suggestions when we asked questions such as how spicy the hot was. My friend ordered the Korean sausage and rice cake skewers. I had never had that before and she said that it was good. I tried it and liked it as well. I ended up ordering the kimchi fried rice. It had spice to it, but with water it was pretty good as well. She also liked her ddeok-bokki as well. I definitely want to go back and try the Korean fried chicken next time. We really enjoyed our dining experience and the food was excellent. The hostess will greet and seat you. It's very open and clean. There were four of us, so we splurged and ordered a lot of food. We had three different selections of the boneless Korean fried chicken (Golden original, Gangnam style, secret sauce) and all of our choices were delicious. The Gangnam style ended up being our favorite, with just the right amount of heat and sweet...it was perfection! The sides were delicious as well. We had the sweet potato fries (my personal favorite) , dumplings, cheesling fries, and onion rings...which all came with pickled radish on the side. We found the atmosphere to have just the right amount of background noise so other people don't hear your conversation. Big plus! We've been here twice--once for a to-go order and the second time dining in. During our dine-in visit, I felt misled when the server said the medium chicken wings order came with two sides. What he actually meant was that it came with two small radish sides. We ended up being charged for four additional sides--cream corn, fries, rice, and coleslaw--so just a heads-up on that. Also, note that you can only choose one chicken flavor per order. The only option for mixing flavors is the half-and-half order, where you can get half original and half spicy. We walked in and it was a lot busier than before. The ambiance is nice not too upscale but a bit above a fast food restaurant. Our waiter was very polite but a bit slow at bringing us our check. We weren't in any rush so it wasn't a big deal. Now the food: The wings are HUGE! I ordered 8 and ate 2 and was full. My husband ordered 16 to take some to work and he ate 5. I loved the spicy galbi sauce. If u like spicy and Smokey try these. My husband ordered the spicy hot (not pictured) and they were just hot. The sweet potato fries and French fries (not pictured) were the ordinary fries. I really like the chicken. The original spicy is good as well but because they come out piping hot and are spicy hot it was a bit too much for me last time. But they are good. The breading on these must be like 4x because the crunch is out of this world. Definitely worth trying. I haven't tried any of the bowls yet. They could also benefit from having soda on tap. This made the chicken feel heavy and a bit goopy which is the complete opposite of a good korean fried chicken experience. The boneless chicken is made of dark meat which made it extra juicy but it would be helpful it this was noted on the menu as most places with "boneless" chicken usually use white meat. Kimchi fried rice was okay - wish it had more kimchi in it but it did help to cut the sweetness of the chicken. Interior was decently comfortable and on theme for a korean spot. read more

I've only had take out so dining in might be different. As others have mentioned, we waited a long while for them to finally open - I believe it's a first for Indy to have a Korean chicken placed owned and operated by someone Korean. Not that other chicken places are bad, but they always didn't keep it 'authentic' in terms of K-Chicken. I've tried the Secret Spicy, Original, Spicy Original, and Cheesling. My preference is the Spicy Original and Secret Spicy. The Cheesling wasn't bad, but too much cheese seasoning for my taste. I've always preferred fried and the Original was too heavy for me. But the Spicy Original was better since it had a kick to it. Overall, the price is too high - it's pricier here than Chicago (where I'm used to having it), but was told that Texas had the same price point so I guess it isn't too overpriced. I'd like to try dine-in sometime. I heard it's better to have it right as it come out because the take out, after a while, it tasted too bready and drenched in oil. My friends who've dined in also said there's a lot of seating - more than they thought there'd be. But can't complain! We finally have Korean Chicken in Indy! We waited about 10-15 minutes until our server came to our table. My bf ordered chicken and I ordered Rosé DdeokBokki. My food took about 15-20 minutes, but the chicken took much longer- when I looked at my watch, we had been there for over an hour and still didn't not have the chicken. I also saw people who arrived after us getting their orders. And during this time, our server never came to our table to check on us or update us. He was also not friendly at all. I liked my ddeok bokki a lot. When I was about done with my meal, fried chicken finally came. I loved the seasoning / sauce and enjoyed it very much. I was so excited when I heard this Korean fried chicken place was going to open after seeing this chain in other states! I came during opening week and was pretty impressed. We were immediately greeted and seated when we walked in, and the restaurant was really clean and spacious. They were pretty busy considering they just opened, but service was pretty quick - the chicken took about 20 minutes but everything else came out in like 5 minutes. We wanted to get the whole chicken but that was only limited to 3 flavors, so we opted for the spicy galbi and the Gangnam style wings. Wish there were more veggie options for sides, the only thing they have on the menu is coleslaw and they were out of it. So instead we got the kimchi fried rice and onion rings, and I was pleasantly surprised how good the fried rice was! It was probably my favorite thing we got. I really enjoyed the chicken too, the pieces were huge and the coating was super crispy. The spicy galbi was a little too sweet for my taste but I loved the Gangnam style. I visited this restaurant in TX, so I was thrilled when a location opened in Indy. I took my friends there for their birthday and kept raving about how amazing this place was. Unfortunately, our experience was disappointing. Reasons for the low review: 1. I received the wrong order (my friend's order) even though they repeated what I had ordered before handing it to me and I was the only one at the table that had ordered it. - I only noticed after eating 2.5 wings that I had the wrong order. 2. The waiter did not offer to fix the mistake. We informed two different staff members, but they just looked at us blankly and walked away. - Mistakes happen, but understandably so, my friend wasn't keen on eating food I'd already partially eaten, especially on her birthday. :/ 3. The food was just okay. The flavor was good, but the chicken was not super crispy and it was borderline soggy due to the sauce. 4. When I ordered, I asked for the sauce on the side and they said they couldn't do that. Not sure why...? 5. The A/C seemed to be broken, making it extremely hot and humid inside. The door was wide open, and it was about 85-90 degrees outside. I understand they just opened a few months ago, but the staff seemed very undertrained. Some of the people handing the food orders to customers didn't speak English. (Which could explain the messed up order) - There was one girl refilling drinks who was more attentive than our waiter. She should be trained to be a waitress as she would be amazing. * This place has good potential, but they definitely need to focus on training their employees better and maintaining consistency across their franchises. Great chicken place. It does cost more than other wing places but the quality of the chicken tastes much better and pieces seem bigger than a BW3. Been here several times and chicken has never been dry or overcooked. Our favorite sauces are the mala and gangnam. We decided to attend the soft opening of bbq chicken, and I think it's very important to note that we attended the soft opening. Things will not be perfect as they have to figure things out so as me and my friends did I think everyone should give them grace. I've been patiently waiting for this restaurant to open and I personally was not disappointed. The restaurant was a bit larger than I expected, but was also super clean and the staff were very friendly. The restaurant was very busy considering it was their first day open so we figured the food might take a little longer than usual, but that did not bother us. Our server was attentive and wanted to make sure he got our order as correct as possible. I decided to get the Honey garlic wings which were actually really delicious. I absolutely loved them however my one critique is that next time instead of the wings I'd like to get boneless. I think with the boneless you get way more meat. I also got a side of fries , which were pretty plain. I wish they would've had some sort of seasoning or special add-on to them. My friend got the sweet potato fries and those were actually pretty good. Another friend of mine got the onion rings which I enjoyed but would've loved some sort of special sauce with them. This new place is cool ambience because its super laid back casual. There is a bar at the end section inside the restaurant. Service was fine, relatively quick , our server was friendly and quite knowledgable about the menu. We had half and half fried whole chicken to share: golden original and secret sauce. All taste awesome, the golden original definitely dont taste like American KFC or Popeyes, totally different seasoning with a little kick . The secret sauce is sweet and spicy more like sweet chili with garlic. The chicken is juicy and tender! I'll come back next time to try on different flavors and may be w/ beers. The service as always was wonderful and the place was not really full. I realized that we got there an hour before they closed. So maybe that was the issue, but we did not get the right chicken. We ordered the original spicy but they gave us extra spicy crumble skin chicken. It would not have been that bad, but I invited my friends and they were not very pleased. I'm so disappointed!
