Not too bad of a place. Service was fairly decent in terms of friendliness and speed. Food was certainly filling as well as flavorful. Though it's not of perfect quality (particularly the brisket which was quite fatty, I'd say that I enjoyed the sides a bit more), it is nonetheless worthy enough to give this place a shot. Stopped by and I was very impressed. Probably the best barbecue spot in Council Bluffs area all the meats were very tender. The sides were good. The mac & cheese was a stand out. It was very creamy. We went in for takeout nobody was in the front to greet us. It took them about 7 minutes for someone to come out and then he said he would be with us shortly. They had a sign advertising a chicken special but they were out they probably should've taken the sign down. We did get the 3 meat platter. Brisket, ribs and pulled pork. All were delicious. But the ribs were my favorite and the brisket was the hubs favorite. No sauce needed for the ribs but I used just a tad for the brisket. The pulled was just ok. Next time I will try that with coleslaw. The fries were undercooked and soggy but we got them to go. The stream does that. No fault of their own there. The hubs loved the dirty rice. The corn cakes ere pancakes of cornbread. Tasty but nothing to write home about. I hope they step up their game on service because the meat is great and I would like to try their other sides read more

A friend suggested this place and it it did not disappoint! My husband and I tried the bbq platter with macaroni and cheese, baked beans and fries. The brisket was the best we have tried around Omaha! It was moist and very well seasoned! The cook came out and asked if we enjoyed are food. Told us to take his card so we would k ow when they were serving burnt ends. I want to come back and try my favorite brisket nachos. Cute little eating area with soft music in the background. I went here with a friend a couple months ago and we didn't have a great experience. I went one time before and they were out of meat so I was hoping the second time would be a lot better. We walk in and weren't greeted at all. We waited for about 10-15 minutes to order while a big order was being prepared for the customer in front of us. I order the brisket sandwich and fries. The kid helping us didn't seem like he wanted to be there. I saw the cook come out from the back and he looked like he didn't want to be there either. No smiles or anything. All of the food was just okay. You can tell its just reheated meat from the day or two before. The flavor was of the meat was good though. The fries were barely cooked. The sauces were just okay, again nothing special. I probably won't go back as the service was not good and the food was mediocre. read more

We were there for BBQ to take home. For anyone who doesn't know where this is located it is in the building that 'used to be' an ice cream place....Then Doozies and NOW BBQ Can not say if you can eat inside the building there is a very small eating area as we used it when it was Doozies. The BBQ was very good!. Took home a sliced smoked brisket. Would strongly recommend it as local place for BBQ,,,,I don't know if they have and sell sauce as we had favorites at home. Went here with a buddy for lunch recently. I got the two meat dinner with jalapeño cakes, baked beans, and Mac and cheese. He got the brisket sandwich. We had tried to go other times but it wasn't open or they had run out of food which is a good sign for a bbq place. Being a new place they definitely have some links to work out with service and timeliness. If that was the only issue I would've been happy. Every piece of meat and each side except the beans were cold. Not just room temperature but actually cold as if they'd been pulled out of the fridge. The sad part is that the flavor of each item was actually quite good which is why I'm going 2 stars instead 1. Like other restaurants I'm not holding it against them if they serve food that's been refrigerated but when you have a decent product at least warm it up and try to make it appear fresh. I really wanted to love this place as we don't have very good local bbq options in CB but I don't think I could be convinced to ever come back. If the food was served warm and more fresh this place could've easily been 4 stars. read more

First time for me at this place and I don't think it'll be the last. I had Brisket, Turkey, Baked Beans and Green Beans. The brisket and turkey were very good, flavorful and moist. The baked beans had just enough spice for my palette. But, if you were to ask me I'd say the crowning jewel of my dinner was the green beans!! I've had green beans from all over the country and have never tasted any as good as these. I stopped down here as I'd heard there was a new BBQ spot in town. This place is a small building down by Manawa. The staff were very polite. I ordered the brisket sandwich (next time will definitely try some of their sides) and the brisket was melt in your mouth and delicious. I didn't try their BBQ sauce but will do that next time, as well! Newer business that deserves some support! read more
