We walked over to this place after going to the Union Pacific museum. We didn't have a lot of time before our flight out of Omaha, and just wanted something quick and easy. Upon walking in, we saw the place looked clean and comfortable. We went up to the counter to order, but weren't sure what to get. The person in front of us finished his order and we were instantly tickled to see how they send the order to the kitchen. We asked the person behind the counter what was good, as we were visiting from California and had never been there before. He was great at explaining the menu and giving suggestions. Very friendly. We settled on sharing a swamp donkey burger, fries and a side of Cole slaw. We watched our order whiz away to the kitchen and went to get our drinks. We found a good table, sat down and talked for a few minutes. Before long our order had arrived. The person that brought it over asked if we needed anything else. , and we asked for an extra plate and a fork and knife. He quickly brought it all over, and we felt silly because we didn't see utensils were right next to the drink machine, and we should have gotten them ourselves. I apologized for missing it, but he was so polite and friendly and seemed like it was no big deal. We cut the burger in half, I started on the cold slaw (delicious), and then got to it. The burger was amazing. It was big, perfectly done, and completely hit the spot. The fries were also great. We didn't have long before we gad to get back to the hotel to get ready for the flight, and having already paid at the beginning, it was quick and easy heading out. I don't know if/when we will be back to Council Bluffs, but if we are, we will be back 100% for sure. Highly recommend! read more

Had to give this place a try Had the jalapeño poppers as an app, they were hot, crunchy, not greasy and actually taste pretty good, I would definitely order them again. I had the grunt snort wheeze burger with a side of onion rings. The buck snort wheeze is 1/3 burger, brisket, egg, fried jalapeños cheese and bbq sa I will say, pass on the lemonade, it tastes like acid koolaid. This place came highly recommended by some friends and it did not disappoint! We got the Prime Rib Burger and the Boom Boom Pow Burger. Boom Boom sauce was just spicy enough, but not overpowering. Meanwhile, the Prime Rib Burger (one of the daily specials) was simply excellent! Great flavor! The service was on point as this place, they were very friendly helping us look through the menu and when we ordered. The food came out super quick and it was fresh! The food was pretty good. I got a side salad with my meal and next time I would like to try their fries. My boyfriend got a burger and it was also good! Will be going back for drinks next time. read more

We came because of the 4 1/2 star rating and only wanted a cocktail before heading to the airport. Of the 4 of us, only one got what we originally came for. Baileys and coffee? Nope- No Coffee....for real, a restaurant with no coffee, Vodka and grapefruit juice...Nope...no juice...we all ended up drinking out of a can of seltzer or beer. Prices are very reasonable and food is delicious. Sandwich/burger prices are without side. Restaurant was already busy on a Saturday around 530 with a line to order, but it moved fast. The Buck Snort is a regular stop on our going-out-to-eat rotation. We eat there at least once every two weeks, if not more often. The Council Bluffs location offers standard table, high-top table, and booth seating. You order and pay at the front counter, then take your seat and the food is brought to you. Buck Snort has multiple TVs with sports playing; they also have music bingo and trivia nights for those interested. While Buck Snort has monthly and daily specials, my husband and I almost always get the bacon cheeseburger, because it is so good! Their fried cheese balls served with ranch are a nice starter. For sides, my husband gets tots and I go for sweet potato fries, but they have regular fries as well. I have had their mushroom & Swiss burger and it is good, too. If you want something different, try the taco salad. It's tasty. If you are looking for casual dining serving a variety of burgers, sandwiches, wraps, and salads, give Buck Snort a try. read more

My parents like this restaurant and we decided to join them for lunch. The cheese balls were solid and the cheese was of good quality. The spicy chicken sandwich had fried jalapeños and spicy bbq sauce on it. The breast was breaded in house and was high quality. The waffle fries were cooked perfectly. The meal was awesome and I would absolutely eat it again. I was really impressed with all of the handmade in house options. It's worth trying with a beer sometime. read more

We decided to check out this sports bar on a whim. It's downtown in Council Bluffs. It has a rough and rustic exterior but that is deceiving. Inside, it is a rustic sports bar with multiple tvs on showing various sports. It's home and home town looking and feeling. You line up to place your order and the menu items is digital and very lengthy. Ordering is prompt and the staff was welcoming and pleasant. I had the chuckanator and my wife had the Swiss mushroom burger. We each had fries. It was delicious food. Simple but tasty and the portions were just right. The sauce was exceptional. We found the food, service, and staff quite good. Keep a look out for the way they send the food orders to the kitchen! E with Think zip line and paper airplane combined. Fried food paradise! They have so many fun appetizer options and unique sandwich/burger items. I like the self serve/order at the counter set up as it usually makes for a more casual and faster dining experience! I give a 3 star as the service when sitting at the bar was disappointing- we had to work to get drink refills and the staff seemed overwhelmed. I most generally get the build your own burger with Swiss,bacon, fried egg, lettuce , onion, tomato. No sauce needed! They get it right every time. The sweet potato fries are some of the best I've had and they are quite generous wit them. The only disadvantage is ordering and paying up front so if I want additional cocktails, I'm not so apt to order and pay again. They do deliver the food to the table and the service is wonderful. My good friend and I went here a month or so ago and it was an...........okay experience. We walked in, gave our order and grabbed a table. I ordered the Swamp Donkey and an order of fries. The food came out at a normal pace, about 5-10 minutes. The burger was okay. Nothing too special about it. The fries were decent. The ambiance is cool. Not your typical burger joint. This place is awesome, I came in for the Buck Snort Challenge and while I didn't finish the food was some of the best tasting I have had for a burger restaurant/bar in a while. I will be coming back to try each burger separately but I couldn't believe how good everything was even though I was stuffing my face. I don't do food competitions but it was fun to see what it was all about. The fries were pretty tasty along with the homemade ranch. Can't wait to take on the challenge again read more

I like Buck Snort. It's definitely one of those places that I have to be in the mood for, as the menu is a lot of fried food. The fried mushrooms are good. They are just basic frozen breaded mushrooms but the ranch they have to dip them in is wickedly tasty so it makes them just that much better. I'm not a big fan of ranch myself but I love theirs. They also have an awesome cheese sauce for the mushrooms, and once again, I love that too! The cheese balls and cheese sticks are both tasty. The waffle fries and french fries are good, but the tater tots are some of the best I've ever had at a restaurant. They are perfectly crispy. No mushy tots here. Even if you order them to go, they somehow don't get soggy in the box on the way home. And they give you a good sized portion of them. All of the sandwiches I have tried have been good. I usually go with something simple like the patty melt, or the build your own burger. The chicken sandwiches are excellent. You really can't go wrong with any of those. They also have different daily specials, as well as some good shakes now too. This is all heavy food so it's probably not something you want to eat all the time, but you won't be sad that you stopped in. read more
