They have a great show room and I was able to actually see the wood-burning stove before I ordered it. I also really appreciate that they were willing to paint my stove the color I wanted (new iron) instead of having it solid black. Mike did a perfect job painting & installing. Evidently, he has great experience with painting because there were no drips and he made sure to tape everything off so the result was absolutely perfect! They even painted the pipe to match! Our experience at Hearth and Home was very poor. There was little to no project management…read more Contractors were not aligned, not scheduled properly -- nobody was working to get our fireplace install done. Office care and follow-up was insufficient; no-one showed follow-up or leadership. I had to manage it all. And there was a lot of basic incompetence: the wrong fireplace being ordered and installed; the facade covering not being scheduled, then turning up in the wrong size. And so on. I have a busy working life, like we all do, and frequently I had to cancel work plans with little or no notice, to be at home to let contractors in, who then didn't or couldn't do their jobs. And when I reached out to the Hearth and Home office, fingers were pointed, but the job wasn't resolved. I'm left looking at a big invoice that I don't think this company has earned. They have made my life stressful, I'm really aggravated by the experience. Two months after I walked into the Sugar House office, the job still isn't done. In sum: I can't think of a more earned one-star feedback than the useless team at Hearth and Home. If you read this review, go somewhere else, please.

John stuck with me through 3 different phone calls and helped me finally figure out what the issue was. He was very knowledgeable, courteous and (fortunately) patient (insert smiley face thing here). Can not give them a high enough rating based on this experience - and will certainly shop/buy from them going forward and use them for my appliance service calls as well. Earlier this week, I stopped by the UPS next door and came inside to take a look at the Ooni pizza ovens I'd been eyeing. They didn't have the model I wanted, so I got some household needs and chatted with the employee at the register when she mentioned the calendar coupons work for in store purchases of items available online. This was super helpful! I went ahead and ordered the exact model of the Ooni I wanted and used my coupon on it. Got ship-to-store (free for almost every retailer) and easily picked up my pizza oven. A criticism I do have is that the Ace Hardware online nor in-store computer search isn't super robust, and I had to come back the next day to order another piece of equipment for the pizza oven, and because the description on the website is so poor, I had to check the manufacturer part number to see if it worked with my oven. It should now that I have the package in my hands, but I was nervous for the lack of description. Another issue I also ran into was that I had two keys manually copied at this store (their auto key machine is down) and one of the keys turned out bent the first time. I got them to redo the key and then didn't check it again after trusting it was fine. I got home and... the re-key is also bent. This is pretty frustrating since I have to go back and get it replaced, or get a refund. So for keys, I don't recommend. But most other things, they're very convenient and have friendly and helpful staff.

I have read some other reviews. I agree, it CAN be hard to find an employee to answer a question, but I keep on and I always succeed. In contrast when I don't find something at the Home Depot on South Highland Dr, they say, "Well, Home Depot at 2100 South has it!" Some people prefer Lowe's on 300 West, SLC. It's easier to find staff to ask a question at Lowe's. The Lowe's staff are more conversational. The other reviews here show Home Depot can be a challenge. I add that the HomeDepot.com selection of washers & dryers is great. They offer many brands, various styles, sizes and price ranges. My old washer failed, so I ordered a front-loading washer at a low price. Home Depot had some nice washers so I ordered one. The delivery today came 25 minutes early. They emailed & phoned first. The delivery team installed it, removed the old washer, & showed me the new washer worked OK. All in 45 minutes, which was good! After they left I washed a load of dirty clothes. The new washer cleaned them, with no water leak! Great service, great product! See below: new Samsung Washer in basement, installed 12/8/2023.
