For reference I've been coming here since this place opened and been smoking meat before it was opened. It was a great option being in California with the only real outlet to rubs and sauces being bbq's galore which is limited. I was gifted a gift card in September of 2024. The main thing I wanted to use it for was pellets and for the better part of 10 months this store was out of stock. What I didn't know was there was an ownership change. When I called and the pellets were finally in stock (August 2025) I drove down, grabbed three bags and was told my gift card wasn't good because of ownership change. I was told that they tried to let existing credit holders know to use their gift cards and that there was a grace period of when pre existing gift cards would be valid. At the end of the day, as a new business owner, I get you want to be profitable from the start and honor somewhat pre existing gift cards. I follow you on Instagram and at no time did you ever post anything about needing to use pre existing gift cards by a certain date as stated by your employee. With so many options to purchase rubs, sauces, and pellets these days, this spot will not get my business. FWIW if you need lumberjack pellets or meat church (the best in the business) just go to bbq's galore and save yourself a few bucks. read more

I was unpleasantly surprised that my gift card was not honored due to ownership change. When i got home i was frustrated that the owner wouldn't even consider it. I started reading reviews and saw another post similar to my experience. Same story unable to verify amounts. Untrue. You can scan barcode on back and it gives you the balance. The balance amount was small, but it's a matter of principle. Owner could have explained the situation and perhaps honor a discount or portion of the balance. Anything to satisfy a customer. Good luck to new owners, and as much as I support small businesses, this one here struck a nerve. read more

Awesome. BBQ shop full of really good rubs, sauces, accessories, pellets, and meat. It's kind of perfect. They're also one of the few places on the west coast that carry Smokin' Pecan pellets, which is awesome. Employees are nice and helpful and I always end up spending more than a I plan to. It definitely lives up to the hype. read more

3.5 stars. Overall I like this place. I only come for rubs and BBQ sauce. The owner can order meats for you but I asked him to see if he could order alligator for me and he didn't seem like he really wanted to check for me and sure enough, I never heard from him again. New owners and new shop. I showed up for the new opening and I gotta say I really like the changes. It looks like they are going to also get away from being treager only which will be good. I was customer number 7, so was give a box of smokin pecan pellets. I can't wait to try them out. They are still the only location that is local carrying lumberjack pellets. I am hoping they bring in a few more brands of pellets aside from lignetics. Glad to see the business still going, and I will continue to be a customer. If you're in the market for special meats, they brought in a better meat rep, and look to be offering a higher class of beef if that is what you're looking for as well. read more

Love having a local business to get different kinds of wood chips and rubs. Like the idea of supporting a small business, as I am. Not a fan of being in a rushed because the kid opening the store didn't wake up but I'll give them another shot. I'm in San Francisco and am only available on Monday or Tuesday so they coordinated with me to open up for me as they are closed those days. I had no idea what rubs to choose from but a small list of ones I used before. Jake was sooo nice and helpful which made choose rubs and sauces so easy. A couple of the rubs I was looking for they were sold out of but Jake suggested some rubs and sauces he recommends. Parking: There is a large parking lot in front of the store. I'm awestruck. A seriously legit BBQ store with a deep assortment of rubs, sauces, gadgets and grills of all kinds. They even sell Oomi pizza ovens and accessories. They have most of the wood in smaller formats from The Woodshed in Orange. No more driving out to the woodshed. Its more expensive here, but if you factor in the gas, its a wash. I picked up some Red Oak to use on some tri tips. Their wood selection is all chunks & Pellets, no "sticks" but, most folks cant use those anyway. So glad you guys opened in Long Beach. Staff was friendly, and helpful, all the rubs may be sampled before purchase which is a bonus. Now if they start selling fresh Wagyu Briskets, Snake river farms Pork -Game on! If your looking for a large selection of rubs, hot sauces, BBQ sauces, or anything bbq related, this is the place to go! They carry hundreds, literally, hundreds of different rubs and sauces. The walls are completely lined floor to ceiling. Ace hardware, Lowe's, Home Depot, or any other place you go to for your bbq stuff has nothing on BBQland. The hour drive for me was well worth every minute! The prices are VERY reasonable, in fact I found most items to be cheaper than amazon and other stores. I ended up walking out with 4 rubs, 4 BBQ sauces, jalapeño mustard, and a serving tray and spent under $100! The staff took their time with me and were very knowledgeable in what different flavors they have, what works best with each type of meat and even gave me advice with a little issue I have had whenever I smoke my briskets. Just got back from BBQ land with some rubs and pellets. They have 2 stores with a nail salon in between the 2 stores. I was so impressed with the selection of rubs and sauces, also they carry the best pellets on the market named lumberjack. The guys were great to talk to and very knowledgeable about their products, the Snake River Farm meat selection was also very good and fairly priced.
