It is my favorite store in Long Beach for so many reasons. They continue to stock the best collection of rubs I have ever seen. There is shelf after shelf of different and high quality rubs from all over the country that pretty much allow you to spice up any food for the grill. Can't make a decision? No worries, they let you sample them all. If they don't have the rub you want they try to make it happen or even will give you a generous sample for you to take home with you. No matter what - I never leave empty handed. The Boar's Head White Lightning is the best rub I have used. I add it to everything. Travis and his team are just so friendly and knowledgeable. You ask for their opinion and they give them freely but open enough for you to make your own decision. They really care about you and make sure you are taken care of. They even let me come into the store before it officially opened to ensure I had rubs for my birthday Bbq. They didn't need to do that, but they did with nothing asked in return. Truly exceptional customer service. They have all the latest and greatest BBQ toys that I really want to use. From grill grates, thermapens, and almost every pallet flavor on the planet, it's always nice to see what's in there. There is so much more, from the easy parking, the collection of different grills, the sauces, and the friendly atmosphere. The best is that they are locally owned and operated. Being new to the Long Beach area I decided to go exploring a little bit today. As I'm driving up spring street I see flags and a sign for a bbq store. Me being HUGE bbq junkie I went inside for a peak. It's like I walked into bbq heaven this place is such a gem. It didn't take the employees more than a second of me walking in the door for them to greet me and ask if I needed any help. One young man by the name of Jake was so helpful and knowledgeable on all the different grills and really helped me on picking the perfect one for my husband and I to get when we are ready. I strolled around the shop looking for goodies to take home today and it was amazing how many products they have to choose from. While walking around trying to get some opinions on pulled pork seasoning both Jake and Brian helped so much showing me different options all while following the covid guidelines and keeping the store clean and in order. All around this place and it's employees are so nice and helpful I will never need another bbq store again. Even though BBQ'ing/grilling/smoking things are not my thing, I gotta admit...this place is so great & so fun! The entire wall full of seasonings, rubs, marinades is so interesting and cool. I always go in w/ my husband- who always ends up buying more than what he went in for, but I cannot be mad because we always leave satisfied & excited to go home & try whatever new rub or grilling tool he just purchased Brian is so great. Very kind and knowledgeable about all the array of products they have in store & different ways to cook w/ them. I also have to mention how genuinely kind this man is: my husband & I went in one afternoon looking for a specific honey raspberry seasoning, but they unfortunately ran out. They carry anything you will need whether it's traeger pellets, wood chunks, coals etc. amazing selection of pellets and seasonings (definitely widest selection anywhere in SoCal). Also, they are very helpful with their customers. Just about every time I'm in there someone comes in asking about how to do a brisket and they take the time to help the customer out/give them great advice! Bought a replacement part for my traeger tailgater, coals for my weber, and then bought an Ironwood 885 which they assembled and delivered to my backyard on the same day of purchase. I own a Traeger smoker that recently stopped working. It would heat up to 98 degrees and shut off after 13 minutes. So I have spent three weeks and many many hours on the phone doing video calls with the Traeger support people trying to figure out what was wrong. After endless recommendations and disassembling the smoker multiple times, I ended up replacing almost all the internal parts one at a time. I replaced the RTD sensor, control panel, the auger motor, some wires and the thing still did not work. Finally, Traeger said "it should work. We can't figure it out. Nothing more we can do. There's a company in Long Beach that services Traeger's why don't you call them". I was shocked. They are the manufacturer and couldn't figure it out but they thought a service guy from a bbq store could. (To be fare, at this point Traeger did refund all my money that I spent on parts that I did not need. The three weeks of my life I'll never get back.) So I called and spoke with Travis at BBQ Land and he was as shocked as I was that Traeger thought that he could figure it out where they could not. I told him all of the things I had done and replaced in the last three weeks and he said that's what he would have done. So we talked for a while and then he suggested replacing the Hot Rod. He said that it ignites the pellets but also senses when there is not enough pellets being delivered and sends a safety error code to shut down the whole unit. Traeger never mentioned the Hot Rod. I ordered one online, installed it and I'm smoking some chops while I'm writing this. So in conclusion: Travis did what Traeger who builds these things could not do by thinking outside of the box. Have a problem, call Travis at BBQ Land. Spend the saved time on smoking stuff instead of wasting time. read more

They also carry a wide variety of rubs and sauces. There are actually so many options that i wasn't sure what to get. Thankfully the staff was not only friendly but knowledgeable about their product line and helped me pick out a few rubs and even suggested a mellow mango habanero rub that I could use to slowly introduce my heat adverse wife to spicier foods. When in just before Christmas and bought my husband a Treager grill. We were not sure what size to get. The guys asked us questions to get a feel for our goals with using it. We picked the size they recommended, and it has been perfect. No, they did not want to just sell us the top of the line. We went with a medium size (sorry forgot the model). We have been going back when we need pellets. We are always asking the guys for recommendations for sauces and rubs, since we are still new at this smoking game.
