World famous Harry Soo was here demonstrating some BBQ and giving out samples. Harry broke in the smoker he likes to call Bob. Monk balls were first to be looked. While cooking Harry showed us how to prepare pork, and brisket for the pit. Everything from selection of the meat, trimming, and seasoning. The pork butt, and brisket were put on the smoker. We got to eat the Monk Balls along with brisket, pulled pork sliders, chicken, ribs, and Biirria. All this BBQ was delicious. Most of us went in the store to buy some of Harry's products and other items. I can't believe how big this place is and how many people were buying truck loads of wood. We no longer go to our local wood supplier since they changed ownership. I found this place a while back on Yelp and it is about a 20min drive from our place. This is our second time coming and the service is always great. The staff is always friendly and helpful. 12/24/24 Christmas Eve visit, I got a mix 1/16 cord, tumbleweed starters and fatwood starter pack. $63.57 total. I love how they take your name and order info down so they next time you go, you can just give them your name and they can do a quick lookup in case you don't know what you got. The name is not deceiving I was getting frustrated with having to buy certain pellets online and paying high shipping prices and I saw one of the sites had mentioned that they have a vendor in Orange - turns out it's the woodshed. This is a cool place-lots of great wood for real smoking. But since I don't have the time to sit around all day and tend to an offset smoker (but I certainly wouldn't complain if that's what I got to do with my day) I use a pellet grill. I honestly don't think it really matters for the most part what type of pellet you use-it doesn't really impact the flavor all that much, except with a few options. And luckily for me, they carry both of them: knotty wood and lumberjack. They don't always have everything in stock, but they carry a pretty solid amount and they have a lot of other great rubs and sauces from many of the dad focused YouTube influencers. I think this will turn into a once a month visit for me. read more

Loved, loved, loved my experience here. I have a fire pit in my backyard and generally just burn scrap wood. I finally had to buy some wood for my daughter's bonfire needs so I tried Forged Firewood and had a horrible experience. Then I tried The Woodshed and I now have my favorite place. A very kind woman assisted me over the phone and told me it was $79 for 1/8 of a cord so I cruised over there in my wife's Subaru. What a place they have! Like a real wood business.... Lots of varieties to choose from for both businesses and consumers. Got a pizza oven or a smoker and need the perfect wood? This place has everything. I just needed something that stacked well and could be used for a general campfires and making s'mores. They lined the back of the car with plastic and loaded it for me. So I have driven by here for 30+ years and never gone in. I have always paid a company to come deliver my firewood for my pizza oven and fireplace. Last year I had Cherry delivered from somebody and it was so wet, it took a year to dry out! I had another delivery from another guy and his price was outrageous for what I got, and again it was wet! Drove here yesterday and loaded up my truck with almond firewood and it burns like a champ. I will be here EVERY year to get my almond wood 10/10. read more

Took the long drive here to pick up some wood splits for my off set. I like that they are able to cut the splits in half to a more sizable length is better suited for temp control than the 16"-18" splits. They have many different wood that I can't really find anywhere else like post oak. There is a place within 20 minutes from my home, but they don't offer this type of variety. And the biggest plus is that they are able to cut the splits to half its length. The staff here is fantastic and very helpful as to what wood to choose. I will definitely be back, but driving 2 hours is the only negative. read more

Husband bought expensive firewood and they accidentally loaded less expensive wood. He didn't leave a phone number.....two years later when I finally found this place they had a record of the error and gave me premium Almond firewood (yes they have cool wood like Almond, Eucalyptus and Cedar) that was already paid for. Patty and team at The Woodshed have taken great care of my family whenever we've shopped with her. The wood selection is great. But you should go for their team's BBQ expertise and great customer service. They can recommend which kind of wood you should use based on your cooker and the meal you'll be cooking. Thanks to them, I've started trying Almond Wood, and I'm looking to experiment with Maple. They also have plenty of options when it comes to cut of wood. If you're short on outdoor space, like myself, and don't have room to cut down wood, they have plenty of pre-cut sizes to work with. In addition to a great wood selection, they have all the BBQ accessories you could want. There is an entire wall of BBQ rubs. The Woodshed not only exceeded my expectations, they blew me away! I love this place. I am 68 years old and I've bought, collected, and gathered firewood ever since I can remember. I've never been to a place like this that sold firewood. Not only do they have a wonderful selection, but their knowledge, patience and friendliness is exceptional. Colette was the lady that helped me and she introduced me to the other ladies and staff - they were all extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Not only do they have a vast variety of firewood to meet whatever need you may have, their patience and willingness to explain the uses and benefits are also exceptional. I can't believe they're selling just firewood. Well, they have other things like seasoning, sauces, and grilling accessories. I will never go anywhere else as long as they are in business. I traveled 20 plus miles because of the nice reviews and the friendliness on the phone. There's a firewood place literally three minutes from me and there are other places near me and along the way, but most are very inconsistent and the customer service is not even close in comparison. In some cases it's nonexistent. I've been looking for a consistent, well managed, and friendly place; I found it in the Woodshed. I highly recommend this place. It's well worth the travel. First time I came both of the wonderful ladies greeted me with a smile and were glad to help when I told them it was my first time in their establishment. Helped me pick the right wood (pecan, apple) for my cooking needs and walked away with a meat church rub (great rub) that was recommended to me. My second time around both ladies greeted me yet again with a smile, and suggested I try the cherry and oak this time and suggested mixing them together for a sweet Smokey flavor. Heard about this place from two coworkers. Husband got a smoker last year and is getting really into it, so we stopped by this weekend. VERY small place, but they have an excellent selection of pellets, he estimated 40 different kinds. He was really happy to buy a Pecan blend to use for future smokes. They had a good variety of rubs and sauces, but I ended up just buying Duck Fat cooking spray, cause, yum! The two ladies working here were very friendly and helpful.
