Spicy chicken with yakisoba, brown rice, and broccoli
Kimmy L.

BB's Teriyaki Grill was one of my boyfriend's favorite places to go for a quick and filling meal while in college at UW. He was excited when he saw they opened a location in Issaquah. The staff from the University Ave location moved over to the Issaquah location and so many of them recognized and happily greeted him when he walked in (yes, that's how much he went to BB's back in the day). Even though BB's isn't your traditional/typical teriyaki place, the quality and quantity of food never disappoint. They've raised their prices over the years (used to be around $10-$11, but is now $13 for a plate). For all the same price, you get to customize your own plate and pick three carbs/sides including yakisoba noodles, brown rice, white rice, salad, mixed vegetables, and broccoli. For protein, you have the choice of chicken, spicy chicken, tofu, beef brisket (+$3) and shredded pork (+$2). Once you've picked your protein and sides, you have the choice of regular or spicy teriyaki sauce (PRO TIP: ask for both sauces and over everything instead of just over the meat). My usual is the spicy chicken with 1/2 plate yakisoba, 1/4 brown rice (or 1/4 salad) and 1/4 broccoli, as pictured. Service is quick, making it a great place for casual dine in or take out. There is lots of seating (they took over the old MOD location in Issaquah Highlands) and the restaurant is clean. Also, extra bonus points to BB's as 100% of the utensils, plates, cups, bags, etc. are compostable! Gotta love a restaurant that cares not only about the food, but also about the environment. Overall: 5/5 for food, 5/5 for service , 5/5 for atmosphere

The good news is.... It's opened till 10 pm 7 days a week! Most restaurants close much earlier in this area. Parking is easy, Portions are generous... Service was good. Restaurant looked clean and well kept However...was sadly disappointed with the food. Food was not very hot. Sauce was watery and pretty sweet. Chicken was over cooked Not sure if I will return

Spicy chicken teriyaki with yakisoba $12

Not the worst but.. not great. A new teriyaki spot in issaquah highlands, set up very much like a Panda Express where they scoop your items directly from a heated serving tray. Considering their location, I was expecting a bit more. Both from the interior aesthetic and the food. I mean... we are in the state of WA... the land of teriyaki. I tried their spicy chicken teriyaki. For $12 it's lackluster, and you'll see from my photo why. The yakisoba noodles are truly just noodles... no veggies or protein inside. The chicken had little flavor and is pre-chopped unlike what you're used to at a Panda Express, where they chop the chicken directly as you order. Overall the dish was bland and needed to be doused in teriyaki sauce. Considering how new this location is, I hope they continue to improve based on trial and error. They either need to lower their prices to justify the food or improve the food to justify the price.

Ambiance and staff - clean and friendly....and the food was ready to go Food - fresh and decent quantities! We enjoyed picking the sides, which were broccoli, mixed salad, and yakisoba noodles (yum). The chicken was tender too. We tried the regular sauce (not spicy) and it almost tasted like just honey. I didn't get any notes of soy or savory. So, that was disappointing.

This what "Extra" Chicken that costs more looks like, with the chicken put aside. lol

I've been to a lot of Teriyaki places over decades and some are better than others, but I've never seen a lazier, cheaper, less enjoyable product than here. This place is so cheap, they don't answer their phone - because I wanted to talk to someone about this - nope. No phone calls for you!! I paid an extra fee for "Extra" chicken and got 5.69 oz of tiny bits of tasteless dry chicken. Most teriyaki places have some teriyaki sauce on the chicken already, not here. I also asked for extra teriyaki sauce, but did not receive any, but I can see why - they are probably laughing at my notes and thinking "Trust me suckah, you won't need any extra sauce with THIS tiny little portion of chicken bits." Now I realize inflation is a problem, so I looked up the average price for cooked chicken breast - it is $4.35. So this means they put $1.54 of chicken in my order which totaled $17.61 before delivery. So with no way to rectify this waste of money (no phone calls accepted), I felt compelled to share my experience. Don't be a sucker. There are plenty of other great Teriyaki places around here!

Got the chicken teriyaki and no flavor whatsoever. The teriyaki sauce was so watered down. Staff was kind but food was terrible.

We were tempted to try the tsukemen, but stuck with traditional ramen this time. The Original Ramen and the Miso Ramen were both delicious. The space is small and quaint, but tidy and clean. Even though we ordered from a screen, the service was still friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to come back and try the tsukemen next time!

Menya Muso is the US brand name for Menya Musashi (as it is known in other part of the world). Ordered through a self-service touch screen monitor near the entrance. The ramen was beautifully presented and tasted as good as it appeared. The tonkotsu plus dashi based broth was flavorful, deep and satisfying. Noodles were thick (but less thick than Jiro type), wavy with perfect texture and excellent elasticity. Preferred Hybrid ramen to Tantanmen. Tantanmen had a sweet nutty flavor from its white sesame paste broth which I find one-dimensional after a while. The spicy pork nikumiso in the dish was a good distraction and the dish does carry a lot of heat (was sweating a lot). Pork belly (not included with tantanmen but came standard with Hybrid) was well-portioned, beautifully charred and tender. Chicken karaage was acceptable but not exceptional.

The dining area did not appear very clean. The windows were visibly dirty, and while guests are asked to remove their shoes for the traditional seating area, the servers continued to walk through the space with their shoes on. The floor cushions also appeared worn and not particularly clean, which made the experience feel less comfortable. More concerning was the food. Toward the end of our meal, we realized that something tasted off. We brought it to the manager's attention, but because we had already eaten most of the dish, there was little that could be done at that point. As a gesture, we were offered ice cream, but after explaining that we have a dairy allergy and could not eat it, ice cream was still brought to the table. That interaction felt confusing and suggested that our dietary concerns were not fully understood. We left feeling disappointed. With better attention to cleanliness, food quality, and communication around dietary restrictions, this restaurant could offer a much better experience

The sushi pieces are a competitive size and the pricing is very fair for the high quality you receive. It's the perfect spot when you want sushi in a more casual, accessible setting. The selection on the belt is excellent and stocked with fresh options, and the sushi chefs are always willing to take custom orders if you are not able to find something on the belt. We are always greeted with a smile when we arrive. During checkout, the server reviews the plate count with you to ensure accuracy. Despite having lived in Issaquah for ten years and loving sushi, I've never been to this restaurant and after actually eating here, now I know why. One of the things my boyfriend loves about carousel sushi is that it satiates the hunter/gatherer instinct within him so we were super disappointed in the lack of sushi on the conveyor belt the whole time we were there. I understand that there were only maybe two or three other parties in the restaurant so maybe it's not feasible for them to have a variety of sushi on the belt at all times, but it was still unfortunate and not the experience we were looking for. I ended up ordering a shrimp tempura roll from our server, and it was brought to our table. The roll was okay, and tasted the way I expected it to, I just wish it had more eel sauce and spicy mayo on it. With so many other options for delicious sushi in Issaquah, I don't think my boyfriend and I will be returning.

I've read reviews saying it's overpriced, and that it's small portions of meat with lots of rice. Well, I don't eat teriyaki often, and so prices are more than what I'm used to, but seems like food and eating out is usually overpriced. And I do agree that I would love to get more chicken, and it definitely comes with a lot of rice. My bf ate all his chicken and I ate almost all of mine, and we still had half of our rice left. We both got Combo #1 with Teriyaki Chicken and Crispy Chicken, but I upgraded my Teriyaki Chicken to the Spicy Garlic Chicken. We both enjoyed it. I just felt like there was barely any of the Spicy Garlic Teriyaki sauce on my chicken. I'm glad they give a little tiny cup of teriyaki sauce on the side; I needed it. My bf felt that his Crispy Chicken would've been better if he ate it right away, because it got kind of soggy from the teriyaki sauce, whereas mine was still kind of crispy because mine barely had sauce on it.
