BB's Teriyaki Grill was one of my boyfriend's favorite places to go for a quick and filling meal while in college at UW. He was excited when he saw they opened a location in Issaquah. The staff from the University Ave location moved over to the Issaquah location and so many of them recognized and happily greeted him when he walked in (yes, that's how much he went to BB's back in the day). Even though BB's isn't your traditional/typical teriyaki place, the quality and quantity of food never disappoint. They've raised their prices over the years (used to be around $10-$11, but is now $13 for a plate). For all the same price, you get to customize your own plate and pick three carbs/sides including yakisoba noodles, brown rice, white rice, salad, mixed vegetables, and broccoli. For protein, you have the choice of chicken, spicy chicken, tofu, beef brisket (+$3) and shredded pork (+$2). Once you've picked your protein and sides, you have the choice of regular or spicy teriyaki sauce (PRO TIP: ask for both sauces and over everything instead of just over the meat). My usual is the spicy chicken with 1/2 plate yakisoba, 1/4 brown rice (or 1/4 salad) and 1/4 broccoli, as pictured. Service is quick, making it a great place for casual dine in or take out. There is lots of seating (they took over the old MOD location in Issaquah Highlands) and the restaurant is clean. Also, extra bonus points to BB's as 100% of the utensils, plates, cups, bags, etc. are compostable! Gotta love a restaurant that cares not only about the food, but also about the environment. I still like this place, but it was much better before. They used to have the best beef briskets.I've ever had but now it's hit or miss. Not the worst but.. not great. A new teriyaki spot in issaquah highlands, set up very much like a Panda Express where they scoop your items directly from a heated serving tray. Considering their location, I was expecting a bit more. Both from the interior aesthetic and the food. I mean... we are in the state of WA... the land of teriyaki. I tried their spicy chicken teriyaki. For $12 it's lackluster, and you'll see from my photo why. The yakisoba noodles are truly just noodles... no veggies or protein inside. The chicken had little flavor and is pre-chopped unlike what you're used to at a Panda Express, where they chop the chicken directly as you order. Overall the dish was bland and needed to be doused in teriyaki sauce. Considering how new this location is, I hope they continue to improve based on trial and error. I've been to a lot of Teriyaki places over decades and some are better than others, but I've never seen a lazier, cheaper, less enjoyable product than here. This place is so cheap, they don't answer their phone - because I wanted to talk to someone about this - nope. No phone calls for you!! I paid an extra fee for "Extra" chicken and got 5.69 oz of tiny bits of tasteless dry chicken. Most teriyaki places have some teriyaki sauce on the chicken already, not here. I also asked for extra teriyaki sauce, but did not receive any, but I can see why - they are probably laughing at my notes and thinking "Trust me suckah, you won't need any extra sauce with THIS tiny little portion of chicken bits." Now I realize inflation is a problem, so I looked up the average price for cooked chicken breast - it is $4.35. So this means they put $1.54 of chicken in my order which totaled $17.61 before delivery. So with no way to rectify this waste of money (no phone calls accepted), I felt compelled to share my experience. Don't be a sucker. I love teriyaki!! Love it so much that it has to be REALLY, REALLY, REEEEAAALLLLY bad for me to not be able to eat it. Ya know the saying "have you ever heard of a BAD FRENCH FRY?" Well, that's how I view teriyaki. Even my older sis, who will fully acknowledge her lack of cooking skills...can manage to muster up a fairly decent teriyaki chicken dish at home. Love her to DEATH but her chicken teriyaki is hands down the worst I've ever had but then again...ITS TERIYAKI...almost impossible to ruin, right? That's what I USED to think...until eating here. When I say this is the worst teriyaki I've ever had in MY ENTIRE LIFE....trust. ITS THE WORST. Even over my sister's dish. The only saving grace was that I got my food TO GO. So when I got home with it and began to dig in...it was like I was eating WATER. Bland A F. You could barely differentiate eating the chicken, from the rice, from the noodles. All tasted the same. BASIC AND BLAND A F. Luckily I was at home and being a teriyaki lover...I naturally have HOMEMADE teriyaki sauce in my fridge so tossed the chicken in my wok with garlic and oil to try and get a sear on those bland RUBBER pieces the place tried to pass off as "edible" ...adding the noodles after a few minutes and some of my own homemade sauce...stir fried for another 3-5 min and transferred to a plate. After all that...it was pretty dang good but the point BEING....i shouldn't HAVE TO DO THAT. I shouldn't have to recook food I buy from a restaurant..add my own ingredients, etc to make it edible, That's kind of the whole point of EATING OUT...you don't have to cook and don't have dishes to clean up afterwards. It's supposed to be a "treat" for yourself after a long, hard ass work week. Shame on you BBs. Do better or just step aside and let in another business that actually cares about providing good, quality food. Especially at the prices yall were charging! I will NEVER eat there again and certainly wouldn't recommend it to anyone. Hope they either get their crap together or just shut it down. Stopped by to grab some lunch to go, was expecting a teriyaki restaurant considering it's literally in the name but there's not even one item on the menu to order that is teriyaki. It's extremely basic with just a few options to choose from, it's all in heating bins and it just gets slapped together. From a quality perspective it was decent, my chicken was seasoned well and cooked well, the "yakisoba" which is literally just plain noodles not yakisoba at all we're not over cooked or mush, the broccoli wasn't over cooked but was completely plain, so my meal was plain noodles, plain broccoli and "spicy chicken" which was not spicy - NONE of that is teriyaki. The employee was really nice. I thought the interior was awful, extremely barebones, this is 100% a to-go place and it shows by the lack of effort put into the place. They need to redo their menu, offer actual teriyaki, not an extremely limited mix and match of teriyaki adjacent foods and "spicy or regular sauce" whatever that even is, or change their name so people aren't expecting proper teriyaki. Personally I don't see this place surviving in this location, the food isn't good enough to warrant stopping by considering there's actual teriyaki joints near by, and ya know, it's not even teriyaki! It's not nice inside, you'd never want to spend time here eating, you'd never go grab lunch with someone here. Best deal in the area! The amount of food you get here is ridiculous! We always ask for extra spicy sauce because without it might be not flavorful to some. Spicy sauce is not too spicy. You can ask for the sides to be the small portion or larger portion of the container. Everyone is extremely friendly and they genuinely seem happy to help. I think their yakisoba noodles are particularly good! Also they are open until 10pm which makes it a great place to meet up with friends later in the evening. Was on the plateau for other business and randomly popped in. This used to be the Mod Pizza and they have kept a lot of the furniture and layout. Very spacious and open- like the outdoor sitting option too! The Mrs and I each had the build a box (only option). She had the white rice, veggie stir fry, cabbage salad and regular chicken/regular sauce. I had the yakisoba, broccoli, and cabbage salad with spicy chicken/spicy sauce. Also got the gyoza to try. Both boxes were YUM! All of the sides and two types of chicken were EXCELLENT! Skip the gyoza unless you are hard core jonesing. Next time, I will get the veggie stir fry as the Mrs really liked hers and I want to mix it up. Service was great, portions were generous and the seating was plentiful. This is a great new spot to get a quick healthy meal in the Issaquah Highlands! We stopped by for lunch the other day & really like the ordering style where you pic your meat & sides- my husband got the spicy chicken, white rice, broccoli & salad which he really liked- just spicy enough. I got the teriyaki chicken, yakisoba noodles stir fried veggies & broccoli so good! The broccoli was really fresh & not over cooked but I wasn't crazy about the stir fried veggies & my husband said the dressing on his salad was bland. I hate to be critical of a new business trying to make it these days but hopefully the feedback will be helpful. All & all it was a really great experience- friendly service, clean organized atmosphere & quick customized good food! I also love that everything is compostable! We'll be back soon! read more

It's not the worst, but it's not the best either. I wouldn't say the food is exactly "fresh". Everything is pre-made. The set up is kind of like chipotle, mod pizza, Panda Express. For 12 dollars a bowl, you pick 3 sides (stir fry veggies, brown/white rice, salad, steamed broccoli. radish, etc. choice of either regular chicken or spicy chicken. Not many protein options here. I ordered the spicy chicken with brown rice and extra stir fry veggies. Chicken was soggy since it is pre marinated in sauce and sits in a pan all day. The sauce from just the chicken itself was overwhelming and made my rice wet. I believe the stir fry was buttered lightly? Didn't have much flavor though. Portions for chicken itself is definitely less than what normal teriyaki places give. It was a good try, but I don't think I'll be coming back. read more

Very friendly staff and large portion sizes. All four of us really enjoyed our meals and three of us had so much we had to take the rest home. For $12 it's a large amount of food! Very clean place and LOVE LOVE LOVE they have compostable containers, silverware, AND sauce containers!!! Some of us had the spicy chicken and some regular- both were very tasty. The spice level for the sauce was more intense than the protein and both sauces were very tasty. They were cooking the food and refilling it as it became low so it IS cooked fresh. We would definitely go back. I'm not sure where some of the reviewers normally eat but maybe they are used to some expensive hoity-toity food. I have been to this BB's a few times and it never disappoints except for a few qualities where the food just lacks seasoning. I always tend to go for the yakisoba as my main side (I wouldn't suggest the rice since it can be kinda dry). I have tried pretty much every protein option and the chicken and tofu are by far my favorites. For other sides I would go for the green salad with everything on it. Be aware the vegetable sides like broccoli and veggie stir fry are all kinda watered down in a tasteless way. I still get them cuz they arnt bad, they just lack seasoning so I usually just end up dipping them in sauce. Overall, I really like this place and come here quite frequently. It's fast, easy, and cheap for the amount of food you get. The vibe here is also chill, it's clean, and the customer service is always amazing. read more

I got the mixed green salad with spicy chicken and yakisoba, and as others mentioned the portion was generous. The chicken was seasoned with just a slight spice, so I added a little sriracha but didn't need too much. My 6 y/o really enjoyed his white rice/broccoli/original chicken combo but was too much for him to finish (same here!)
