    Chicken teriyaki

Himitsu is our new go to for teriyaki. We ordered white chicken teriyaki, a bento box, and shrimp fried rice. The food was very flavorful, plentiful portions, and frankly the best I've had on the east side by far. The owners are super friendly and take care of you while you're there. Five stars don't seem enough. It's a must-visit for anyone craving teriyaki.

This is my bento box Dine in containers, I ate in my meal in 20 minutes , sadly will go straight to the landfill for several years.

It's sad to have them still serve everything in old school styrofoam containers, even when you dine in. I understand they may try to save money in a dishwasher but it's ridiculous the amount of garbage this place produces. This is not recyclable/compostable. Doesn't the city regulates this?

    Veggies minus Tofu... yummm!

I like it. The chicken is a bit low quality but is still very good. The avocado roll is also very good. In my opinion, this is a good place.

Decent teriyaki. A little on the dry side. Contrary to other reviews, the service is good. They will even run your order out to your car.

I often dine at mom-and-pop local places seeking neighborhood gems that are worth the drive, as…read moreopposed to ones that are 'good' because it is near you. Zushi Sushi is somewhere in between. I would not say to a Seattle person to purposely drive there. But I will say to folks nearby that it's a worthy restaurant. The place is neat and tidy, not showing its age yet, even though I know it has been opened for years. The service is swift and to-the-point. I am fairly certain this place is Japanese owned. Prices are fairly reasonable without the common 'Eastside tax'. I often find older restaurants to be more reasonably prices due to lower overhead. The Food: Avocado Bomb, $10 - 3.5 Stars Other than a bit too covered with tempura bits, this dish met expectations. The price matches what I have seen in Seattle. Salmon Belly (Sake Toro) Nigiri, $7 - 4.5 Stars Good cut and good white fatty stripes for sake toro. Thumbs up. Lion King, $15 - 4 Stars Menu: California with seared salmon on top and parmesan aioli, unagi sauce, scallion With these type of specialty rolls, presentation is as important as the ingredients, combination, and creativity. This roll as the best out of the three we ordered. Zushi Flower, $19 - 3 Stars Menu: Shrimp tempura, avocado, spicy tuna with seared salmon on top, spicy mayo, unagi sauce, parmesan aioli, and kaiware, red tobiko on top This specialty roll did not at all look like the photo. At $19, it's the most expensive amongst their rolls. Disappointing. The ingredients and taste were fine. It didn't warrant the Zushi namesake, and I don't see 'flower' in its presentation. Cherry Blossom, $15 - 2.5 Stars Menu: salmon, avocado, cucumber, and tuna on top This roll was the most 'man-handled' looking roll amongst the three we ordered. It also did not look like the photo. In one of the pieces, I spitted out a brown piece of something. It turned out to be the tip of the avocado. They graciously offered to take it off the check or make a new roll. Grilled Hamachi Kama, $14 - 2 Stars This was a very dull and boring hamachi kama. Not much seasoning, not much sear, the skin is not crispy, yet the fish is overcooked to the point of being dense. Tempura Oreo, freebie We were gifted a tempura Oreo. Interesting and pretty, but not something I would order. No rating. I wish Yelp would do half stars. I think they are a solid 3.5 Stars. Not enough 'good' happened (other than the comp'd roll) for me to bump them up to a 4 Stars.

I did not expect how good this place is! How did I wait do long to come here!…read more Just for lunch this time... and I kept forgetting to take pictures! The sashimi was beautifully served, fresh and delicious. I had one roll, salmon skin. I would like a touch less rice, but it tasted very good. The spicy scallop gankun was outstanding! When I first stepped in the door, I was so glad I brought a light jacket with me even though it was 80 degrees outside. I'm not sure why, but the restaurant had the A/C turned up so high that even the people eating next to us had their puffer coats on. Even with my coat on though, I was still cold. The interior is small and modern. However, the tables and menus were extremely and unpleasantly sticky. The soy sauce bottle was also empty at our table. I ordered the HAPPY HOUR CHIRASHI BOWL ($22 which is half the size and price of the usual $44 Chirashi Bowl off their main menu). It came with two pieces of salmon, two pieces of albacore, two pieces of hamachi, and two pieces of some other tuna (or maybe it was mackerel) plus tamago (egg), and Ikura (salmon roe) on top of their signature purple rice. The presentation was nice, but the fish quality lacked. The albacore in particular was so chewy I had trouble biting through it and so I knew it wasn't fresh; I ate one piece but left the other in the bowl because I didn't want to chance it. Regardless, my stomach regretted it later in the evening and the next day... Service was fine, but we had to waive down the waiter both to order and get our check. When he asked if I wanted a box for my piece of albacore, I told him it was too chewy and he said sorry and walked away. Overall, I was unfortunately disappointed by my experience at Kuro. For a recommended place on Yelp, I expected a better environment and fresh fish. Overall: 2/5 for food, 3/5 for service, 2/5 for atmosphere
