An interesting experience to say the least. This Mongolian Grill is more authentic than say, a chain place like Genghis Grill, but it comes with less options as well. A definite plus is the soup and rice that comes with your meal, and the bar certainly provides an ample amount of veggies. The meats are freeze-dried, which produces some interesting textures. The sauces were fairly tame, and they recommend mixing multiple ones to get a unique flavor. I loved the endless quality to the buffet, but everything was a bit boring and one note. My experience was overall positive(if not unremarkable), though the bathroom was flooded and they seemed a bit annoyed that I informed them of that fact. I would try Bdobo again, but there are some better options for Asian cuisine in town. read more

My family and I were looking for a unique dining experience with lots of flavor, and we're glad we found Bdobo online. In a very unassuming strip mall, as soon as you step out of the car, you smell the delicious food from Bdobo. We were seated immediately and placed our drink order ($1.69 Genesee beers!), soup order (egg drop or sweet and sour), and rice order (steamed or fried). Then, we went up to the buffet line to construct our bowls. The base is noodles - I was expecting wider Asian noodles, but I think it was actually spaghetti which was a little disappointing but fine. Then, you add whatever vegetables and proteins you'd like. I went for broccoli, zucchini, mushrooms, shrimp, and beef. There were plenty of other choices like calamari, chicken, imitation crab, etc. Side note: I was super weirded out about the fact that this was buffet style and everyone in the restaurant was allowed to just touch the same spoons and tongs. The restaurant should really have one person behind the counter making your bowl (like Chipotle style) to eliminate cross-contamination. I understand that is the hourly rate of another employee, but during the pandemic it is not a good look. Anyways, once you've filled up your bowl, you can choose your sauces. There were probably 10+ sauces to choose from. I went for the Mongolian sauce, garlic sauce, lemon juice, and hot oil. Then, the chef in the back takes your bowl and cooks it on a big grill with these giant chopstick looking things! It's really cool. It was around a 3-4 minute wait for each bowl. It tasted very good but not amazing. I would give this review another star if it was a bit more COVID compliant. read more

This place is a delightful mess. The selection at the food bar is all you need to have a very satisfying plate of food. Sauces and ingredients at your discretion - sky is the limit. That said, the environment itself is all you could expect from a strip mall Mongolian barbecue restaurant. The staff is extremely good - very attentive and friendly. The wine and beer selection is as expected but entirely alright. The wait time at the grill has a flavor of the DMV but is in no way a deterrent. Very strange chicken - round, flat, thin pieces such as sandwich meat would be (I must commend them on keeping chicken frozen before it was added to the choices on the line). It was lunch time, no idea where to go. Looked up yelp, this one is near our hotel. So, from the outside this place looks shabby but hey don't want to judge the book by its cover. I want to be surprised and say i had a good experience but NO.... soups that they gave us was old and not hot. The hot and sour and also the egg drop soup had a funny taste, the meats that they had out has a different color, veggies looked old. 2 ladies that was there we're nice although they forgot to give us rice. The customer next to us had to remind them for it. Don't expect much on this place . Its old and needs serious clean up. My husband saw some cockroach near the kitchen area. read more

I came here for a casual work meeting with my boss, and have wanted to come back ever since. At the time I wasn't eating rice or noodles, but I still left very full from all the meat and vegetables I piled onto my plates. I appreciated that the meat was sliced thin and still semi frozen. It was fun to play with the different sauces, and they are masterful at their stir frying craft. I couldn't really tell you exactly what the motif was because I was more focused on the business at hand as well as the food. Everything seemed clean, the servers were very sweet (and easy to understand. I saw someone in an earlier review say she couldn't understand her waitress. Wtf? The things people say...I would put money on it that the person who wrote that review isn't bilingual and has no compassion for folks whose first language isn't English.) I just like the whole vibe of the place. It's quiet, relaxed, I enjoyed watching the steam rise up in the distance as they throw more food on the stone grill, and I really liked how even though people are moving around and things are getting done- nothing felt rushed. How the heck have I never left a review for this place before? I've been going here since high school and it's so consistently good. Start off your meal with the egg drop soup - it's literally the best in town and eat your heart out at the all you can eat set up by piling on the veggies, noodles, and meats to your liking before it gets thrown on the hot stone for grilling. The real secret is in the homemade sauces - laddle to your hearts delight because you can never have enough.
