Theirs is board you can write your name down to save your place in line. There are 2 or 3 waiting chairs right outside. My stylist is Sara, so this review is for her; I can't speak for the other stylists but I'm sure they're all awesome as well. Sara is a miracle worker, plain and simple. The first time I came in I had no clue what haircut I wanted; I just knew I needed a big change. I told her to do literally whatever she thought looked good as long as it was shorter (I had medium length, scraggly hair) and she gave me the best haircut I had ever received (picture attached)! It put me on track to figure out what I truly loved, and now I absolutely love my hair. I started dying it last year, and have had it done by Sara each time, and it always turns out so perfectly (pictures attached!). My hair is hard to bleach and lifts very slowly, but she is so patient with it and really puts the time in to make sure it turns out right (the first time I bleached it, it took way longer than she expected and I was there past closing time, and she stayed the whole time with a positive attitude)! Her demeanor is so friendly and positive, and so is everyone else's who works there. She's also very very knowledgeable on hair products and color; and can give great advice for both hair maintenance and looks to go for! I truly love having her do my hair and I doubt I'll see anyone else for as long as possible! It really is one of the happiest places I've ever been, and I actively enjoy sitting there for long hours because the vibe is so warm and calm. Not to mention it's in a gorgeous location with a beautiful historic district and views of the Occoquan river on the upper level (which is where Sara works)! The interior is wonderful and feels very home-y and comforting, which is great. Every assistant I've had has been good, but I went in today and a new woman named Kelly was there--she was incredible! She gave me the best head massage I've ever gotten and was so kind and caring. I hope she sticks around for a long time because she made the experience even more awesome than it normally is. I've gushed enough at this point for you to get the idea; about the only possible thing that could be improved here is if they had snacks available for the clients--I would love to have some chocolate, cookies, dried fruit, nuts, stuff like that to go with the coffee, tea, and water they offer! But overall, this salon is the best I've ever been to and will get my business for a VERY long time. To everyone at Good Hair Day (and especially Sara) if you're reading this; I love you all!! I had only previously gotten nail salon lashes so way less so I was expecting a similar experience but closer to home in Virginia. I WAS SO WRONG. I got a hybrid set that took two hours. It's in between a classic and volume application. I believe the owner herself did it as she said she teaches as well. I got curled lashes that were only a little bit longer than my own (straight, nice length, doesn't curl and doesn't have a ton of volume). The application was done so thoroughly and its funny I cannot even feel the lashes. I forget they're there. I don't have a fear my real lashes will rip out either as with nail salon lashes. I was given a little lash brush for grooming as well which I never got before. I highly recommend. So excited to be 'ready roll' for my trip. Pro Tip: There's a first timer discount and also you get a coupon if you check in on the Yelp! app.

(i didn't even mention anything about the cut, she mentioned it herself) and let me go with my toe looking absolutely insane. and just today, not even 2 weeks later, my whole other toe nail just popped off!! never giving this place my money again!! complete waste, awful service, 0/10.
