I made the impulsive decision to get my hair colored (and layered) and am so happy I came here. I reached out to Brenda, however, since she was unavailable, she recommended me to Tracy. Tracy made my time before/during/after the appointment very easy and satisfactory. she responds via text message very quickly and was so patient with me when deciding what color/style I want. I am not familiar with the different types of colorings and she was able to explain to me the difference between balayages/low lights/butterfly cuts/etc. When I arrived the next day, I told her what I wanted and gave her full range of what she thinks will look good with what I explained to her. She is such a kind and patient soul who made me feel very comfortable the entirety of the time. The results were more than what I expected and I left very happy. She also texted me after the appointment of my hair and recommendations for products for my hair. I enjoyed my time here so much and will be suggesting her to my loved ones.

Brenda is awesome, I inquired and she responded right away. Price is affordable and she made my Mom's hair and makeup incredibly beautiful. She's definitely highly recommended. My Mom was so happy. Thanks Brenda!

Red hair was what she had done before it was nice I liked it went back asked for a bright blue highlights she didn't say it wasn't possible so I went for it if she would have said it wasn't possible I wouldn't have done it. You can see it looks dull in second pic I showed her an exact example of the color. I told her I didn't like it she later offered to redo it but I didn't want to go back I wen to another person to fix it stayed 8 hours i there chair. I have fine/curly hair and never really found anyone that took the time to listen to my hair concerns. I got a trim and blow dry with Rosa, but after washing my hair 3 days later I noticed it was very uneven. When I went back to get it fixed she kept giving excuses that it could have been me applying my hair cream unevenly or that my braids were uneven (I braid my hair to get a wavy look) and none of those were the reason. When I parted my hair evenly down the middle and compared strands from each side that should have matched, they didn't look the same at all. read more

I went to "Be Glamorous" today to get a "Monaluce" Keratin (organic with essential oils, no bad chemicals!) treatment and a 180 haircut with long layers! My hair turned out to be just gorgeous!!! Well worth it! I used to go get my hair cut by Brenda years ago (when I lived in Burbank) before she had her own salon. I stayed in touch with Brenda on FB over the years. I was getting poor haircuts several times. So I decided to make the trip to Los Angeles and see Brenda again. She used to cut hair great before, but she has really come into her own and is an excellent stylist! Also, she has outdone herself decorating her salon. It is elegant and simply decorated. Very classy! You've got to check out the bathroom ceiling! Brenda decorated it herself! Very unique and creative! Just love it! I came to brenda after my sister recommended her. I have very metallic blonde and needed to get a touch up on my roots. Brenda charges everything on top so it added up to 150$ and my roots ended up being very yellow. So I had to go to someone else to get that fixed. Today my sister went to brenda again to get some layers. My sister used to have very long and thick hair and just wanted to get some volume but wanted to keep the length. Now my sisters hair is is very short now. She is so sad and cried about 5 times today after leaving Brenda's salon. I feel so sorry for her because her hair is a little bit longer than shoulder length and she just wanted to get more volume and keep the length :( read more

I was surprised on Saturday afternoon for a fancy dinner. I was looking for last minute hair and makeup, I called a few places but no luck. I found this place and I spoke to Brenda who was extremely helpful, she was busy doing hair but still took a few minutes to listen and offered help. Brenda went out of her way and called her makeup person, and even though she was also doing makeup I'm Glendale, she came to the rescue. Brenda was busy but said she will try to accommodate me for hair. Both did an amazing job and in less than two hours hair and makeup were done. They were extremely friendly, sensitive, attentive and helpful. From now on they will be my go to place and it's only 3 minutes away from me. Keep up the beautiful job and friendly atmosphere. I hadn't gotten my hair done in almost a year and I'm so glad I found this place! My hair stylist, Rosa, was super friendly and fun to chat with. The salon was clean and everyone wore masks--I'm pretty sure one or two other stylists wore face shields. They took your temp as soon as you walked in. I've done balayage on my hair twice before so I was very picky when it came to getting it the third time around. My hairdresser moved to another city so I was looking for someone to freshen up my balayage. I had my hair done by Marine a few days ago and she did an amazing job! I think what I loved most was that she kept me in the loop during the entire process and explained every step. She's very knowledgeable and approachable and we had a great few hours together. Balayage is a long process but oh so worth it. It's super low maintenance and that's perfect for my hectic schedule. I am so happy with my hair! Marine is very attentive and she's been following up to see if I need any changes ...which evidently I love and have never experienced with any other hairdresser. Sometimes we shy away from wanting something done a specific way but she made me feel super comfortable knowing that she would work with me even after the procedure if needed. Ps. Brenda was very nice and was so honest with me about my hair. It was very hard for me to find another stylist (short story..)because the last stylist I went to really damaged my hair. I was going blonde and the lady had left the bleach on my hair for too long. But anyways Brenda gave me a haircut and a treatment and made my hair look more hydrated. JUST WOW!! I came in with unevenly cut hair & major root growth. I left feeling brand new. They did exactly what I wanted was blended in hair with no harsh demarcation line. After I had bleached it myself I was so nervous for anyone to touch my hair because It broke off from accidental overlapping. Got babylights with a cut/toner/blowdry. I came to Brenda to get long layers in March and I was so scared because I love my long hair and it took me years and years to grow my hair, but I lost my volume because my hair got too heavy so I was searching the whole internet until I found Brenda. I was so scared that I only got some inches off to get some layers so there was no difference really. So I came here today again to get some real layers so I can have long and voluminous hair. She knew how scared I am because I wanted to keep my length and didn't wanna lose the fullness of my hair through the layers, but I told her that last time there was no difference really, I showed hair pictures and said at least 10 times that I don't wanna lose my length. All pictures that I've shown was from girls with similar hair to mine and they all had a U shape exactly how I wanted it, to keep the length completely but to have short layers so I can style them nicely. When she started she wanted to cut 5 inches off so I said stop right away that I don't want to lose the length. She said no it's only the layer that she's cutting so I was like ok... then she showed me that there's almost no difference in the length (maybe 2 inches or so) so I was like yes that's fine so she continued to cut more and more also way more and I just saw so much of my long hair on the floor. My hair was so long that it was close to my belly button. After she was done my hair is not even covering my breast. And I was shocked! she took 7-8 inches off. And she was like no I didn't change the length. I was like what do you mean my hair was so long and now it's barely covering my breast and she got so unfriendly. And started saying that this is how a v shape is and all the pictures that I showed was v shaped. What is absolutely not true since they're all u shaped. Super long hair with layers. And she was like when you look from behind there are still very long and almost the same length. She was talking about the end of the v but all the sides and the rest of the hair is short. All those years growing my hair was for nothing. Exactly that happened what I wanted to prevent. I just had to order hair extensions. Going from hair that goes almost to my butt, to shoulder length hair and a hair dresser that is super unfriendly. WORST HAIRCUT OF MY LIFE. 2 years of growing my hair just GONE As a reply to the owners message: Not sure why you're mentioning something about free stuff? I never asked for anything for free. I paid everything in full always. Even today after you destroyed my hair I even gave you a tip. I can upload all of my receipts. However, when it came time to be seen, I was told it had been cancelled. It took multiple receptionists to realize that one of them had accidentally canceled it. The problem is that I was never notified. I didn't receive a cancellation email or text despite having notifications enabled, and no one could explain why I wasn't contacted. If I had been notified, I wouldn't have wasted over two hours driving. What was most disappointing was how the situation was handled. There was no tangible effort to make things right--no attempt to fit me in, prioritize me for another appointment, or offer any accommodation after I had cleared my schedule to see them and spent so much time traveling and waiting. I understand that mistakes happen, but unfortunately, I left feeling like my time wasn't valued, and I can't recommend a salon that handles scheduling errors this way. Additional note: My appointment was originally in August, but I rescheduled for July. I received a cancellation email for the August booking, but never the July one because I didn't cancel it. Edit: They claimed to have offered to schedule me with the soonest available appointment, but what's to guarantee that my appointment isn't mistakenly cancelled again? What's your new procedure to ensure my time isn't wasted? Will I receive an email notification this time? Because I sometimes tend to notice/look at details that others may want to gloss over or perceive as me overanalyzing, it felt really difficult for me to explain to others how my recent haircut from another place just a month or two ago had specific lengths and cuts in specific areas going around my whole hair that had left my previous haircut feeling kind of "off" in certain ways and that I felt was giving my hair the very slight illusion of looking shorter than it actually really was and a little "choppy" in some areas, which then had an effect on how it framed my face/widened it instead of helping elongate it. But when I explained it to Daniel, he totally got it and even held up the individual sections that he agreed were causing those effects, why it was creating the effect that it was and how we would resolve it. I was so happy that he not only truly acknowledges and makes it important to understand where his clients are coming from (whether its concerns or goals etc) but that he also has such skill and knowledge to be able to fully do so and hit the nails right on the head. The color was also beautiful as well and because I wanted something that was healthier than permanent that would also give my hair a healthier appearance (ie shine, softness, gloss etc) he recommended the demi and also mentioned that it would make it easier down the road for me to go lighter if I ever wanted to. The color blended and matched so well with the rest of my hair and everything from the cut to the color made me feel like all of my goals were achieved. Everything Daniel did with my hair left me feeling so *Bonita*, and he was just such a joy to work with and an awesome person all around. Thank you Daniel for this lovely experience :) -------------------------------- Parking: Since the salon is in the heart of Downtown, its best to try and arrive a bit earlier than your appointment time and to be prepared for alot of one way streets and quickly turning into the available open public parking lots closeby before passing the salon (to avoid having to go further down in a circle to get back to the parking again). I believe there are 2 or 3 lots before you pull up to the salon that have big signs that say public parking. If youre driving towards the direction of the salon, out of the 3 the first one youll pass is just self-service/pay which was the one I parked in, and the other two have attendants as you pull up to the salon. Im not sure if both of those allow open access to all, so i will find out the next time I go again :) The front of the salon itself can be very easy to miss so just make sure to park before you even pass it on your GPS and youll see a small little sign over a door that says the Hideout salon when you walk up. There will be a door code for you to enter so just ask the salon for the door code in advance so that youre all set to go when you get there as well :)

Of course, I turned to Yelp for the scoop and zeroed in on Ms. Glen's Therapeutic Manicures & Pedicures. I finally got a chance to go see Ms. Glen and it was everything I wanted and more. It was relaxing (I fell asleep)! It was restorative! My feet felt and looked healthy and cared for. I didn't get polished which is great because I have been wanting to go natural for a while to let my nails breathe and focus on what's really happening with my toe nail health. So may things I loved (in no particular order): - Very communicative from the appointment (via phone) to the confirmation and directions (via text) - Ms. Glen greeted me at the door - The studio smells divine (really sets the tranquil mood) - The studio was intimate (just me - yay) - The space was very clean (I am a stickler for clean) - There was a complimentary water waiting on me - Ms. Glen has developed her own techniques and products which speaks to her dedication and specialization (I love people who are passionate about what they do!) - Every step of the treatment was appreciated! (very detailed, very attentive, think - pampering your feet from the in-depth massage to the parrafin to the soaks to the grooming and much much more) - I got socks! This was such a special and much needed last step that I never knew I needed. It made my feet more comfortable and protected after such a beautiful treatment. She even asked me my size. How's that for customer service! - Now this one may seem trivial but I never had to hold my feet up during the treatment unless I was transitioning from the bowl to a towel. I do not like having to do that while someone attends to the bottom of my feel or heels. Ms. Glen has it worked out where I can truly relax the whole time. I also left with one of Ms. Glen's therapeutic hand and foot oils in Lemon. She makes the oils herself! It smells so good and leaves a refreshing but not overpowering scent. It feels good oiling my feet every night. Like another reviewer said, this is not your run of the mill pedicure shop. This is a therapeutic service that is worth every penny. My goal is to make this a regular treatment. If my feet are healthy, I am healthier! Thanks Ms. Glen for such a wonderful experience! I'll be back. I had recently purchased a soap that helps with skin discoloration. It hasn't been making any improvement in the uneven skin tone and dark marks on my feet. Turns out I just needed an appointment with Ms. Glen. The exfoliation she provided literally rubbed away 15 years from my feet. My dry scratchy heels were left supple and smooth and the calloused areas were left soft. Had I known what I was in store for I would have taken before and after pictures. She even provided socks for me to leave in, to seal in the moisture. My favorite part hands down was the massage. She kneaded into these tired soles, and I needed that! I paid a little more than the price listed (which she does quote as a base price) but she also spent almost 2x the amount of time listed. My Fiancé noticed the difference in appearance and feel immediately. I intentionally waited until 24 hours+ had passed to write this review, wanting to see if my feet would feel just as nice. THEY DO!! Ms. Glen definitely puts pride in her work and I love how she checked in throughout the process to ensure I was satisfied along the way. I recommend her service to anyone looking to give their feet a more youthful feel and look. And if your feet have severe issues that might keep you from visiting open public salons, her private suite will help you feel comfortable and secure. Right before I left, Ms. Glen threw in a bottle of her therapeutic hand & foot oil once she saw how dry my hands were. I trusted the front desk staff to guide me, and was quoted $80 for Gel-X, builder gel removal, and French tip. At my appointment on Friday 7/18, I was unexpectedly charged $110! I was told the card on file couldn't be used for the service--only for late fees or no-shows--which made no sense. If the salon can charge the card for penalties, why not for the actual service being provided? This was especially frustrating because the appointment was a gift for a huge accomplishment of mine, from my mother, so of course I didn't have the physical card with me. On top of that I was also charged extra for nail length without warning, and billed twice for polish: $20 for gel color and $15 for French tip, even though I only received 1 design; french tip. When I asked for clarification, staff just pointed to the online pricing--but I booked in person to avoid that confusion. The experience felt misleading. I intentionally came in person to avoid confusion and relied on the staff to guide me accurately. Unfortunately, that did not happen. I would not recommend this salon to anyone. If you're considering booking here, I strongly suggest looking elsewhere for more transparent and customer-friendly service.

I came back for a refill, and two days later was in some of the most pain I've ever been in due to a cuticle infection. I voiced concerns that my skin was being cut, but they were shrugged off. After coming into the salon to show them the infection, the front desk staff was polite and helpful advising they would reach out to the owner and share photos they took of the nail. Days passed and I followed up again via phone as I didn't hear back. The owner of the salon requested PHI pertaining to the infection, including what Rx I was on, in order to even consider a refund. Initially, a gift card for the amount spent on the service was offered in lieu of a refund. I mentioned I was not comfortable receiving another service, and received a call back letting me know the owner was willing to grant a refund. Overall, the back and forth took about a week and a half. I was new to the entire gelx process, and am posting this review to let anyone else looking to embark on that journey know they should ask questions and voice their concerns. There are seemingly many happy patrons, but this was my individual experience.

I have found my hair stylist after a long search and many previous disappointments. You know how you show most hair stylists a picture and they end up doing something totally different? Well Brenda nails it. She got both my sister's and my hair cut just right. She takes her time, and is all about excellence. I also had a blast talking to her. The second I walked in, I knew I had found my new hair stylist. I had scheduled an appointment on such short notice, but Brenda responded within minutes to accommodate me. Haydee was very nice, but unfortunately the haircut and blowout were nothing like what I asked for. the price I paid included deep conditioning but the conditioner was in my hair for maybe 30 seconds. on top of that, brushing it out half my hair came out because I had "too much" instead of delicately brushing from bottom to top. she was brushing it from happy my hair and yanking down so it tugged all my hair out and hit my earrings several times almost ripping them out. My hair is completely straight and flat, with only the very ends curled in the back. The front pieces were not styled at all the way I requested, and it looks nothing like the reference photos I showed. The haircut itself is also very choppy. I asked for soft, blended layers starting at my chin, but the layers are uneven and harsh instead of seamless. Once I got home and really looked at it, I honestly felt horrible about the result. I feel bad and wasn't going to write anything at first but the vibe of the cut and extra blowout plus the whole washing experience was just horrible I hate to say it I normally do not leave negative reviews, but I paid extra for a blowout and left feeling extremely disappointed with both the cut and styling.
