We had several contractors take a look at our bathroom remodel. Many of them had images and documents strewn across their computers and often couldn't find what they were trying to show us. However, when Nir from Be Green Builders visited, one of the main things that caught my attention immediately was how organized he was. The way I see it, if someone can't even organize their presentation material, how can I expect them to be thorough and detail-oriented with my project? Thankfully, Nir was on point and was extremely efficient discussing our needs/wants and showing us similar examples of his previous projects so that we could hone in on what was needed. He was very easy to work with and never pushy. Communication with Nir throughout the project was excellent. He responded to texts quickly and answered all of our questions patiently. We got along quite well. He is very passionate about what he does. Finally, the BIGGEST thing for us (besides the work being done well, which it certainly was) was that we asked for a rushed completion since we were going to be hosting a baby shower within 4 weeks. Nir got it done in 3, and that was including a delay caused by the city of LA being backed up on inspections. After the heavy rains we had last year we decided to have our roof checked and replaced. Be Green was able to come out the same day we contacted them and take a look at the project. Gil and Nick were awesome and took pictures and video to show us exactly what what was going on up there and, sadly, it was a little worse then we expected. Luckily they were very thorough and explained everything to us in great detail for the process, timeline and the products used. We hired them right away and they were able to get everything set up and start within 2 weeks! Everyone we had contact with (Gil, Nick, Jefferson & Tyler) were amazing with keeping us up to date on the progress, and the crew working on the roof was terrific showing up each day on-time, worked fast and cleaned up everything. We three-bid our master suite sitting room modification. Of the three, Eli from Be Green Builders spent the most time with us. He had a very positive energy and we both hoped he would be affordable as we felt we could trust him. Although his bid was not the lowest, we chose to award him the project. It was the right decision. Beginning with the contract which was meticulous in its detail...every part of the project was covered. Throughout the process - Eli was available at all times. If he couldn't answer the phone he called back within 30 minutes. And yes, we did call on weekends, and he was always available. As for the project itself, since the home was built in 1977, my biggest concern was that the new work would match the original details perfectly. Eli assured us we would not be able to tell the difference between the new and existing work. By the end he was right. It is perfect. When a contractor goes above and beyond what was agreed to I want to be sure to acknowledge it. Eli did this in two instances. The first was with the moulding. Initially the new moulding was not a perfect match. No one else even noticed. We told Eli and he referenced the job quote. Indeed it stated that due to the age of the home he could not guarantee a perfect match. We were not thrilled, but were willing to accept that it was something that would not likely to be noticed and was covered in the contract. Eli would have been within his rights to move onto the next phase of the project. However when we checked in the following Monday he had found a perfect match and reinstalled and painted the new molding by the time we arrived for our next visit. The second time Eli went above and beyond was at the end of the job. We has been bothered by a crack in the wall unrelated to anything Eli was working on. I asked if his crew could patch it before they left. Eli agreed and the result was excellent. The texture and color was a perfect match and the crack was gone. No additional charge. One last point worth mentioning...Eli went though an extremely difficult personal tragedy during our project. He only told us near the end of the project. While I didn't end up going with Be Green in the end, it was a very close decision and I will definitely look to them for consultation on future projects for the following reasons: - Gal is clearly knowledgeable and organized; he is readily able to call up examples of past work he's done and also learns what you like/don't like quickly to adjust his recommendations. With Talavera and Saltillo tiles, an elegant soak tub, charming hand painted sink.... it is a relaxing, therapeutic refuge! Moises, and Christian, were terrific on the job! And very tidy! Full disclosure I haven't actually worked with Nir yet- he gave us an estimate for a full remodel and we had a great experience. The carpets in my house were worn down and torn in some areas. While changing the flooring, I figured I would paint the inside of my home too. I called and set an appointment with Be Green Builders and Nir came by to measure my home to give me an accurate estimate for the job. So, after putting off some work in the kitchen/dining area of our 1920's home, the issue finally became so bad that we had to get a contractor out and "face the music". Water damage from the recent rains we have been experiencing here in Los Angeles led to some serious damage to the walls -- which are plaster! We reached out to several construction companies/contractors including Be Green. Although most people that we reached out to were professional and personable, we were most impressed with Eyal from Be Green. He was engaging from the start and very patient as we asked him tons of questions about what needed to be done. To our surprise Eyal came the next day and hand delivered a preliminary proposal with a very through scope of work. We were expecting to hear back in a few days. He recognized, without need to be told the time sensitive nature of the project. When he arrived, he went over the proposal in great detail, again answering all of the questions that we had. We informed him that we needed some time to discuss the proposal and also review some other bids. At no point, did we feel pressure from Eyal to go with his company -- he had a cool since of confidence, which I appreciated. We were excited to have Nir and Be Green Builders come and do our remodel. After many meetings with Nir, we had discussed a timeline, budget and course of action. We were very disappointed with the outcome as it seems as though none of these agreed to items were done to our satisfaction. The main issues we had were: 1. Floors where not protected with plastic/paper once installed and the painters got paint all over them 2. Refrigerator Trim kit was installed incorrectly and they drilled hole it is. Had to rebuy the kit. 3. Damaged cabinet when installing appliances 4. Damaged tv console because they didn't cover/protect the furniture in the house 5. Refrigerator trim kit fell off within a month of them installing because they didn't install it correctly the third time 6. Paint on mirror that will not come off, Paint on cords in living room window treatment 7. Electrical outlet was put in the wrong place, had an appliance specialist come out. It could have caused a fire if the oven was on since the cords were hitting the vents. I find it really disturbing that his electrician or foreman didn't pick up on this and the range was installed for 2 weeks. It's a good thing I didn't try to cook before having the appliance specialist come out. 8. Touch up paint was never the same as the paint job requiring them to come back over and over again to repaint the walls and ceilings. 9. Admitted that paint job wasn't good and still had us pay for it 10. Paint job on stair railing starting to peel within a month. 11. Left job before completed and doesn't want to collect last payment of $950 12. Not professional 13. rarely on the job to manage the project 14. appears to have subbed out most of the work( floor, pain, cabinets, electrical) 15. Never same crew so there is no communication 16. All the work is sloppy! Bottom line is that the work that was done was generally sloppy. The work was wildly behind schedule (original quote was for 30 days, total time to completion was around 120) and the general responsiveness and ownership was sub par. Had I known all of this I never would have hired Be Green Builders, and will not use them for our future work. read more

Needed to remodel the tile and vanity in one bathroom, and a vanity in the other bathroom. Consulted various contractors before deciding on Be Green Builders since I liked the consultation and the explanation Gal gave to the inquiries. The project started on a Wednesday, and was estimated to finish on either Saturday or Sunday, based on the initial consultation conversation; it didn't finish until Monday given there were some hiccups along the way. The only issue I had was on that Saturday when the crew for vanity installation came. By crew, there was only one guy (the other guy couldn't come due to sickness or injury). My dad had to help the guy move and install the vanities for him. On top of that, he couldn't locate the handles on the vanities, claiming that it wasn't in the box so I had to go buy them on my way back from work... only it was taped on the bottom drawer of the vanity. He couldn't locate the handles on the other vanity either, saying that it didn't come with handles when there was blue tape sticking out from a drawer. I had to show him where it was located. On top of that the installation looked shoddy and the plumbing wasn't done right, which meant there were leaks on the one vanity. Overall, that Saturday was a hot mess and I was very dissatisfied with the work done. It didn't help that my dad had to pay for the plumbing supplies on top of everything that happened on that day when the contract stated that such things would be included in the aforementioned quote. I told Gal my dissatisfaction with the "crew" that came on Saturday, and he reimbursed the money for the plumbing supplies, the vanity handles I had buy, and discounted $100 for the trouble. That was a nice gesture. The end results look nice, so I am satisfied with the overall work and how my bathroom looks now. read more

Our remodel took some time, but we had quite a bit of things to do around the house. We worked with Gal as our Project Manager and he was always responsive and did not stress when we had hiccups along the way.
