Turned out to be a tripped breaker that wasn't obvious because of the safety bracket on the breaker. Wanted to convert an outdoor CFL fixture to LED. Instead of selling me a much bigger job, they explained I could simply use LED bulbs that plug into the existing CFL sockets. What could've easily turned into a several hundred dollar bill ended up being around $100. Really appreciate companies that still do right by their customers instead of looking for every opportunity to upsell. Great communication, honest advice, and quality work. Highly recommend.

I needed a kitchen light switch fixed and contacted Eric based on previous YELP reviews. When I…read morecalled mid day he informed me that he only did the automobile plugin stuff but asked where I lived and if the light switch was the only thing I needed fixed. When I said Lake Forest and yes to the only thing needing a fix, he said he would come by in about an hour. When he came he immediately went to work on the switch and in less than a minute the lights were back on, but the lights were flashing on and off. This was a problem before the lights stopped coming on altogether. He switched some of the light bulbs with other working lights in the hallway and they worked in the kitchen and began flashing in the hallway. To that, Eric determined that the flashing lightbulbs were "crap", recommended getting some new light bulbs to replace those that flashed. It wasn't the switch that was faulty but the lights themselves. Eric said that he would not charge me anything for his work that day which was so generous and appreciated by me. You don't find people like that anymore. As it turns out he has family living in my neighborhood. He also gave me some advice on another outdoor light that we are repairing. Can't say enough good things about Eric.

He doesn't just install lights, he carefully plans the placement, beam angles, and overall design to highlight the beauty of your home and landscaping. Be the Light was referred to me by a neighbor. We had been delaying our landscape lighting but decided to give Sam a call since he was so highly recommended by one of my neighbors. Sam came to my house, helped me put the fine tuning to what I wanted/ needed and placement for best results. Most reputable contractors do a good job of customer service and doing what they say. What separated this experience is the passion Sam has for his work. He was so eager to do the work and show us how much we'd love it. His crew was on time each day and did more than what they agreed to at a fair price. Everything is on a timer and automatic - with LED lights to keep costs down. We absolutely love our yard even more now and can't believe we waited so long to do this work. At first, pricing for this sort of system surprised me, but once I saw how much work is involved, the artistry of deciding which type of light to place where (even sinking one light into my yard for maximum WOW factor lighting up my Cypress trees), the attention to detail and complexity of running (and completely hiding) all wiring, I was thrilled to pay the price. This has TRANSFORMED my home from 'meh' to 'wowie zowie'! My exterior just pops the second the AUTOMATED SYSTEM automatically lights up as soon as the sun begins to set. And of course, I can easily control them from my phone! It's been two years since install, and I love it everyday. Then, I experienced an electrical issue NOT related to the lighting system, but that affected it. Matt came by, diagnosed the issue, spent an hour replacing an electrical box, and voila, all is well again. This guy is really something, just a great attitude, superior skill set, and talented lighting artist. I highly recommend OC Night Lights!

The quote was pretty high for (1) connecting a hall LED light that was already purchased and (2) changing a motion detection light switch to a normal flip switch (which I did not have the parts for). When the technician arrived, he informed me that the quoted price $350 was for only one of the items. He wasn't aware of the additional repair and would normally have to charge me $175 but would give me a discount and only charge $125. So a total of $475 for less than an hours work. I'm buying a new home that needs a new breaker box, canned lights and additional plugs installed. I can't give them that work because I can't imagine what charges/up-charges I'd be looking at! Yikes!
