It was frustrating as several people came out from other companies and gave me absolutely crazy quotes trying to take advantage of me. Then I was referred to Eric and I'm thankful I did. I needed a kitchen light switch fixed and contacted Eric based on previous YELP reviews. When I called mid day he informed me that he only did the automobile plugin stuff but asked where I lived and if the light switch was the only thing I needed fixed. When I said Lake Forest and yes to the only thing needing a fix, he said he would come by in about an hour. When he came he immediately went to work on the switch and in less than a minute the lights were back on, but the lights were flashing on and off. This was a problem before the lights stopped coming on altogether. He switched some of the light bulbs with other working lights in the hallway and they worked in the kitchen and began flashing in the hallway. To that, Eric determined that the flashing lightbulbs were "crap", recommended getting some new light bulbs to replace those that flashed. It wasn't the switch that was faulty but the lights themselves. Eric said that he would not charge me anything for his work that day which was so generous and appreciated by me. You don't find people like that anymore. As it turns out he has family living in my neighborhood. He also gave me some advice on another outdoor light that we are repairing. Eric was recommended by the dealer where I purchased the vehicle. We spoke by phone, and he had me send him pictures of the electrical panel. His initial assessment was that no panel upgrade would be necessary, but he would need to inspect the panel to be sure. We scheduled a day for him to come by to check the panel and the placement of the charger. With some slight changes to the panel, he could make room for the required breaker. Originally, I thought the charger would need to be installed on the outside of the house, but Eric assessed inside the garage and identified the perfect location for the charger. His estimate was lower than I expected based on my research. We agreed on the price. He came by at the end of his day, so he was willing to do the electrical work while he was there. Eric has chargers with him to sell, but I was looking for a charger with an app, which he did not have. I asked Eric if there was a charger he recommended, and fortunately, it was the same one I had decided on. I ordered the charger, and it arrived a couple of days later. As Eric promised, he stopped by the following day and installed the charger. I'm very happy with the install. Eric is very knowledgeable, prompt, professional, and reasonably priced. We initially had another electrician attempting to understand what was needed for the EV charger installation. My wife called and told me that this electrician was asking a lot of questions. She put me on the phone with him; he was completely clueless and his estimate was $150 over Eric's. He tried to justify his fee because he'd have to go shopping for parts and because he'd have to educate himself. He lied about the cost of a new breaker that could cost atleast $200. I checked with Lowe's; it's not $200! just asked him to not touch anything and leave. Fortunately we got a lead on Eric; he was prompt and offered to get the job done on the same day. I've never owned an EV and needed the charger assembly ASAP because dealership did not fully charge my car due to an intern's oversight (the salesperson was livid!) I recently purchased my plug in hybrid and my sales person recommended Eric to change or add a 220 outlet for faster recharge. I called Eric, he was on time and checked out my 220 outlet. Tesla wasn't charging at full capacity/speed due to adapter reaching high temp during charging. Reached out to Eric as a referral from a friend, he came the next day to replace plug and check wiring into panel. Lesson learned not to hire a handyman for anything involving electricity.
